Tyreek Hill says Bills Mafia caused issues in the Dolphins offense
JohnNord replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
He seemed to be complimentary of the Bills in his interviews which is cool. -
I think it’s a feeling of reality - knowing that postseason > regular season. It’s nice to win games and division championships but if you aren’t on a roll and/or healthy going into the postseason you end up losing in a division game. Also we know that being the #1 ranked team in power rankings, the team that’s favored to the Super Bowl, or the team with the best DVOA doesn’t guarantee you anything. basically, I think we know a lot can happen but we are taking things week-to-week

Hypothetically… Brian Daboll gets the boot….
JohnNord replied to The 9 Isles's topic in The Stadium Wall
There zero chance that Daboll gets fired. He inherited the mess left by Dave Gettleman/Joe Judge and won a playoff game. He’s earned the trust of the org and probably prepped them for a step back like the Bills in 2018. It’s going to take atleast two years before Daboll’s job is in jeopardy -
Bills lose Eli Ankou to Falcons, signed off Bills PS
JohnNord replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall
He’s a good player and probably deserves a spot on the 53. His only chance to playing in Buffalo would be multiple injuries. The move to Atlanta is probably the right choice -
I have a feeling this will be a close game. I also expect the Bills to come out a bit flat this week. Hopefully the Bills can get the W…I do believe they are the better team

Ja’Mar Chase: “I’m open. I’m always ****ing open”

He always seem to say something stupid at the end of each game. -
Will we have to replace Dorsey next year?
JohnNord replied to ChronicAndKnuckles's topic in The Stadium Wall
I really hope Dorsey is in contention for head coaching positions. This would mean that the Bills offense was strong all season long - these are good problems to have. -
These Miami fans got caught up in the media promoting the offense using words like “historic,” “unstoppable,” and “indefensible.” These were gross exaggerations. Scoring 70 points is quite an accomplishment but the hype led you to believe that this type of offensive explosion would happen every week. I’ve seen a lot of Miami fans down on the team after the loss. The bottom line is they are still a pretty good team - especially offensively and that should be in contention for playoffs, maybe the division. The defense is kind of a mess. I don’t think Fangio has all the right players he wants to run his scheme. But you have to think they’ll get at least a little better

There is something to taking away possessions from Miami. The first time they played last season, the Bills completely controlled the clock the problem as someone else pointed out was turnovers and coming away without points. Defensively they played fairly well with an underhanded crew so it gives me hope they can slow the Miami offense a little. In the end I think it’s going to be a 30+ point shootout

I don’t think it was ever an issue of maturity. He was regarded as the team leader of the defense pretty early in his career. I think people believed he was physically immature and had some room to develop, in the same way that a college athlete does from its freshman to junior/senior year. I guess it made sense as a rookie but people were still using the age excuse in his fourth year which infuriated people who were frustrated with his performance (or lack there of)

Visiting Teams having Lots of Fans in the Stands
JohnNord replied to Bob Jones's topic in The Stadium Wall
There are much better ways to invest your money than trying to flip season tickets. Depending on the game/season you might be able to make a few hundred dollars but you also might lose money too. Things change fast in sports. I had a friend who owned Sabres season tickets and relocated to the West Coast. He kept his seasons, thinking he could sell the important games on Craig’s list and then to family and friends for at cost or somewhere close. He did fairly decent at first, largely from the inflated prices of games against Canadian teams or top teams like Boston at the time. But then the Sabres drought in. He started off almost breaking even, which he was ok with. Then the team started to suck and tickets were in less demand. He took a bath for the next three season, before just giving up. He held out hope that the team could get better - but when he literally couldn’t even give away free tickets, he knew it was over. The NFL is a bit of different situation. There are less games and ticket prices are much more in general. But to maximize your investment there has to be demand for the tickets, which usually means - the team has to be a contender every year -
Bears/Broncos tickets are going for as low as 20 bucks

It’s an NFL game in the fall! If I lived a few hours away from the stadium, I would definitely go! -
I didn’t have a problem with the FG‘S. The Bills were betting on their defense shutting down a weak offense. Unfortunately against the Jets, Josh’s turnovers flipped the game. I hated the 4th-and-inches call from the moment they put Josh in shotgun. Between Josh himself, Harris, and Murray, you have 3 players who have a very good chance at banging out an inch

Joe Namath wants Jets to clean house & start over
JohnNord replied to Albany,n.y.'s topic in The Stadium Wall
Joe has always been a moron. He was the same guy drooling over Aaron Rodgers this summer. Now he’s hurt and he wants to clean house? What a joke -
This is where I grew frustrated. What got to me is how the media (and then fans) would always use his age as an excuse. You could have a valid criticism of Edmunds and the response would be “he’s only 21.” Perhaps his age was relevant for his first few seasons but he didn’t change that much as a player over the 5 year span.
-
There were many on Twitter anyways who kept posting the Wolverine meme with Edmunds in the frame. I thought that was a bit much
-
Bills fans are a fickle bunch. First, everyone is saying how much the team will miss Edmunds, now it’s suddenly “Edmunds sucks.” Overall I think Edmunds was a good player. His length and speed did deter QB’s from throwing into zones and be covered a lot of ground in the passing game. He had his moments with run stops but it became apparent that it would not be his strong suit. He just never seemed to rise to the occasion and make big plays in big moments. This was my main criticism of him, especially considering he was for a new contract. What was the best Edmunds game? What was his signature play? I knew that he would be paid as a top LB and I didn’t think his play warranted that. I also wondered how a different type of LB would play in his spot. I guess we’re seeing this now in Bernard

Over-reaction Three Weeks In.... Offense seems disjointed
JohnNord replied to Billsfan1972's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think it’s fair to be a little bit concerned about the offense, only because it seems that Dorsey (and maybe Josh) struggle to get the ball into the hands of players who are mismatches for defenses. Deonte Hardy, James Cook Dalton Kincaid are great runners after the catch, and we have yet to see them get the ball in space. I think the Washington game was kind of similar to the opener against NYJ. The Bills struggled on 1st and 2nd down, often times setting up a 3rd and long situation. It was especially annoying because they predictably kept running in 2nd down for little gain. The difference was this time, Josh didn’t make the crushing errors on offense. It’s a long season and there’s still time to change some things up but I’d like to see more players get chances on offense in the passing game
