The Bills were in on signing him a few years ago, and it really makes you wonder whether he was in contention to potentially succeed Edmunds. I think he would be a better fit for the team than Dodson or Klein.
-
This has to be the reason. Given the condition of Kim, it makes sense for Terry to streamline and focus his interests. Also the profit margin for a struggling small market team who hasn’t seen the playoffs in a decade plus can’t be great. I think Terry wants to focus all of his time, energy, and resources on the Bills

We do know that he called on Trey Lance, so it’s definitely possible that the Bills are looking to see if they can find an upgrade. As far as being “very concerned,” I’m not so sure

Tim Graham said that he regards Sean McDermott and Josh Allen along the top leaders since covering NFL/NHL two plus decades ago. He listed McDermott behind Bill Belichick and Bill Parcells.

Maddy is kind of meh for me. Seems like a nice enough person but doesn’t add much as a host. I can’t say that I really enjoy Chris Brown. He doesn’t really say anything I find insightful and never has a very strong opinion on anything. I know he was suspended a few summers ago for what he reported, so maybe he’s overly cautious. I do enjoy listening to Sal. He too does kind of seem to walk the line when it comes to criticism of the Bills. He’s more critical than Brown, but stops short of really giving a strong opinion like he does with other teams/players.

Prediction for cut down day: AJ Klein will get cut
JohnNord replied to Saxum's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think there’s a decent chance Klein initially makes the 53 until Bernard shows he can play MLB. Dodson’s performance today was very concerning and I don’t see how he can be anything more than a situational player and special teamer. -
Sounds like he was too comfortable working under Kim.

This is the exact quote from the article. It also listed that Raccuia was “unapologetically aggressive” in his business dealings: Three people with direct knowledge of the Bills’ stadium negotiations said Hochul grew to despise Raccuia’s tactics and said she contemplated requesting his absence from meetings. One of those sources quoted Hochul as calling Raccuia’s methods “arrogant” and “obnoxious.” Hochul’s press office didn’t respond to a request for comment from The Athletic regarding this story.

https://theathletic.com/4738337/2023/08/05/buffalo-bills-front-office-ron-raccuia/?source=user_shared_article The departure of Ron Raccuia, the public face of the new stadium, took a lot of people by surprise - including Ron himself. Tim Graham spoke with 11 sources within PSE who said that Terry personally fired Raccuia for a number of reasons. He was said to be “obnoxious” and “arrogant” in his business dealing and reportedly turned off NY Gov. Kathy Hochul during negotiations. It seems that Terry simply was not as fond of Ron as Kim had been. After Kim was out of the building due to her health, Ron assumed her responsibilities, and Terry was not pleased with hid communication and other things. Graham also mentioned that PSE is on the hook for overages, and it appears the new stadium could cost nearly 500,000M more than the original estimate Raccuia put together. Again, something he might have not been happy with. According Graham’s sources this was NOT Raccuia’s decision. He had planned to retire to California in 2026 after the new stadium was finished. He allegedly felt “blindsided” by the firing. Also the sale of ADPRO to Legends was said to not be related to this move. I would read the full article for more details: I think there are questions to be raised with PSE. This move kind of reminds me of what happened with the Sabres. Rather than hiring people from outside to fill departures they just promote and shuffle around the staff they already have. Terry has assumed mote responsibility since the firing.

Marv is the man. I saw a recent interview with him and while he’s finally starting to show his age he still has that sharp mind.

Former Buffalo Great OJ Howard Cut by Raiders
JohnNord replied to BuffaloBillyG's topic in The Stadium Wall
Its wild and it shows that the draft can be a crapshoot - not only based on the player’s ability to translate into the NFL but circumstances like injuries etc. I remember that coming out of the draft in 2017 there were analysts who said Howard was a “can’t miss” prospect at TE. His early years showed promise but after a few injuries and the torn ACL he was a shell of himself. ”Can’t miss” prospect in 2017 Career likely over in 2023. The life of an NFL player -
His comments were funny he was like “yeah I did a ***** job last season, but a fellow coach isn’t supposed to say that out loud!” Hackett does seem like the good guy that everyone says he is. As an OC…I think he’s ok

Eli Apple signs with Miami; Ramsey Replacement
JohnNord replied to BuffaloBillyG's topic in The Stadium Wall
I saw some Bengals and Dolphins fans claim that Apple locked down Diggs. He really didn’t, Josh just couldn’t get him the ball. Apple is a bad cornerback and everyone who follows Cincy will tell you he was only playing last season due to injury. There’s a reason he was still unsigned before yesterday. It’s not because he was being selective -
Matt Araiza is Suing Woman who Falsely Accused him
JohnNord replied to wppete's topic in Off the Wall
I was just trying to relay the reporting of Tim Graham who claims that there were many at OBD and in the locker room that were uneasy with Araiza remaining with the team. -
Matt Araiza is Suing Woman who Falsely Accused him
JohnNord replied to wppete's topic in Off the Wall
If I recall the conversation from Graham’s podcast, he wasn’t charged because the victim claimed that she was 18 and attended a local college. That statement might have even been recorded at the party. Under CA law it is not a crime if the victim implicitly states they are above the age of consent. This would be the case in NY where the only thing that matters is the true age of the victim regardless of what the other party is led to believe. So if this happened in NY, Araiza is likely behind bars for statutory rape. This is why there allegedly was some uneasiness with keeping him at OBD after all the details came out, along with the other issues outlined in my previous post -
Matt Araiza is Suing Woman who Falsely Accused him
JohnNord replied to wppete's topic in Off the Wall
I think there were a few factors for releasing Araiza when they did. This has been reported by Tim Graham. #1 Araiza’s camp initially mislead the Bills. Beane alluded to this in the press conference by saying they didn’t have all the information. My guess is that Araiza provided with evidence that he wasn’t involved with the horrific gang rape, but also failed to disclose that he had sex with a 17 year-old. #2 Araiza’s lawyers threw the Bills under the bus on SD by saying they knew all along. According to Graham this infuriated the team. So these factors coupled with the tremendous backlash, bad press, and uneasiness of having him in the building led to his release. -

Well played, Beast -
Signing a Dalvin Cook comes along with ensuring he gets a number of carries per game. If that means less touches for a Breece Hall or opportunities of Aaron Rodgers to chuck it downfield to Garrett Wilson, count me in. Also the NYJ offensive line is somewhat of a question mark with Beckton and an aging Duane Brown at tackle. Last season Cook’s advanced stats weren’t great behind an inconsistent OL.

Sean Payton not a fan of the Jets off-season
JohnNord replied to The 9 Isles's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don’t love Payton but hearing hip rip Denver, Hackett and NYJ is hilarious. Peak NFL off-season right here -
Bills to work out TE Jace Sternberger (now signed to 1 year deal)
JohnNord replied to JohnNord's topic in The Stadium Wall
That was my first impression but I wouldn’t be shocked to see him beat out Morris. Morris did some good things as a receiver at TE but he was a terrible blocker. I wouldn’t put money on it but I think Jace has a chance -
Hunter Renfrow a possible camp casualty
JohnNord replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall
This would be an incredible for Buffalo -
Not being facetious here, but how did he show he had something left in the tank? When he signed with Tampa he caught 2 very short passes in the 2 game he played. Once he signed with Buffalo, the only catch of relevance he made was the nice catch and run against Miami. But he also failed to make a challenging, but not impossible catch versus Cincinnati. I think we were all hoping he’d make an impact last winter, but it never really happened. I think Beasley can still find the soft spots in a defense as good as any slot WR. I do wonder if he still can do it physically. There was questions about it before last season, and nothing I watched changed this

Do the Bills Practice as Hard as the Pats? Should They?
JohnNord replied to hondo in seattle's topic in The Stadium Wall
“The Patriot Way” = Tom Brady was an elite QB -
The fact that they “parted ways” suggests that it likely wasn’t amicable. This reminds me very much of Russ Brandon’s departure, where it was presented as him stepping down when in reality he was getting the boot. Not saying he left under the same circumstances as Russ - we have no idea - but it seems like PSE wanted him gone. Ronny was the lead on a very important project that really has just gotten started. I don’t think he voluntarily leaves w/o another position lined up.
