This is a good point. Even if he’s not as good as Edmunds last season, I think it’s very plausible that he’s a better overall option than Bernard and much better than Dodson. It sounds like, at worst, Kirksey is a better version of AJ Klein

If the last preseason game is any indicator, you saw a lot of quick passes to Hardy to move the chains and an improved running game. I think this is definitely going to be part of their game next season.

Where was the article!?!?!? LOL In regard to Dorsey, Tim Graham made some interesting points how he could could be set up better for success this season. The fact that McDermott has taken over some defensive play calling duties takes a little pressure off Dorsey and maybe gives him a little more space/freedom - as more of McDermott’s time will be spend on defense. Every position in 2023 is stronger than 2022, which should open more possibilities and give him a stronger counterpunch. Dorsey will have a year’s worth of experience as OC which should help him next season. Yes and no. Numbers can be a little deceiving. The Bills offense was largely boom or bust last season, especially toward the final few weeks. You also saw more games where turnovers or bad drives allowed teams to crawl back into games - such as the wildcard playoff game. The good news, is I feel a lot of this was derived from the fact that the Bills had a liability at LG and RT last season, as well as some limitations with what the available weapons could do. Hopefully the new additions help take care of this.

I love how @Buffalo619jumped on the Bills like they made a mistake getting rid of him 😂 I’m happy for Cody and not trying to downplay him making the team. But it’s not like Cody was named the starter. He’s the 4th OT on the team, a position he was removed from in 2019 because he struggled against athletic edge rushers. Still he deserves credit for working hard and making the team after two disappointing stops in Buffalo and Arizona.

From what I read, he was having a very good preseason, which doesn’t mean much considering he was playing with backups against backups. BUT Kyle Allen was I a. Similar situation and didn’t look so great…so who knows? I think the KC intel angle is somewhat overplayed.

1992!?!?! You were an early adopter. How did everyone compile the stats?

You are right about Harty… he’s more than a gadget guy and runs good routes. His biggest challenge might be staying healthy. As soon as they drafted Josh Downs fairly early, I thought it was going to be a battle for him to stay on the roster

Meanwhile in Foxboro, "In the End There Can Be Only One"
JohnNord replied to Beck Water's topic in The Stadium Wall
This could be true but from what I saw last season Zappe looked like your typical mid-round rookie QB. Nothing great but a few flashes that made you think he could be a decent backup -
This is a REALLY interesting move. I’m surprised he signed with the PS when he likely could’ve gotten a spot in a roster. Also, I think the move potentially puts Dodson on the bubble.

This is so weird. It reads as a bizarre display of loyalty to Mac Jones who was on the hot seat last season. -
Colts grant Jonathan Taylor’s request to seek trade
JohnNord replied to Big Blitz's topic in The Stadium Wall
I love how some bad actors and podcast hosts from Miami’s were hyping up Tuesday like the deal for Taylor was a certainty. Then they had to come up for excuses when it didn’t and face the wrath of angry deflated fins fans! -
It’s not Miami… they can’t afford Bosa plus next year they are already over the cap by a lot and that doesn’t take into account re-signing Tua, Wilkins, and Waddle. Not happening.

He said he just need a training camp to get ready and he’s be one of the best slot WR’s in the NFL!?!?!?

Colts grant Jonathan Taylor’s request to seek trade
JohnNord replied to Big Blitz's topic in The Stadium Wall
No one will admit it but Irsay and Ballard played this perfectly. Teams thought the situation was so bad they’d be desperate to get rid of Taylor for anything. They stood pat and waited for the others teams (namely Miami) to meet their demands. When they couldn’t get the value they wanted, they simply put Taylor on PUP. This buys them more time up until the trade deadline. The Colts are restarting with a new coach and rookie QB and aren’t expected to content. They hold all the cards here. https://x.com/nicereedsteve/status/1696615853343531471?s=46&t=8ZEIwokTeanemk54SQ608g -

Time is running out -
You should hold a vigil in Buffalo to get Vigil in Buffalo.

Maybe we should move Dawkins to the Right and Spencer Brown to the left. What could possibly go wrong!?!?!?!?!?

WGR speculating the Bills will make a trade
JohnNord replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall
Were they the same “sources” from Miami fans that claimed Jordan Poyer had verbally agreed to contract? 😂 I don’t buy this for a second. Only because in his 6 years as GM, Brandon Beane has never invested a significant asset in the RB position. Not a high draft pick (unless you consider Cook in the late 2nd) and certainly not a multi-year contract. Do you honest this they will trade premium picks for Taylor and make him among the highest paid at his position? Not a chance. Draft pick miss percentage….It’s a very scientific process At a high level maybe…but like I said, I think he’s good enough to be a fringe starter. And you’re sleeping on his ability. He’s better than you give him credit for. -
There’s a good chance the Bills lose Epinesa and I think they are likely ok with it. I don’t think you’ll ever AJ as a starting DE on most rosters. I do think he can be one of those depth ends that comes off the bench to spell players, pitch in on ST, and maybe to start in a pinch. As far as him “budding,” I just don’t see it. People have been expecting a breakout season for him the past two years and we basically get the same type of player. He’s solid player but completely replaceable

Disagree about Damar sucking. You have to remember that he was a 6th round draft pick in his second season and starting for the first time. IIRC the Bills tried starting Jaquan Johnson after Hyde was injured. He had 4 years in the system and was terrible. Damar stepped in and while he wasn’t perfect, he was good enough to steady the ship. Damar played the run pretty well and even caused what could have been a game changing fumble against NYJ. Where he struggled at times was defending against the past. The Bills gave up more long balls than I remember, and a big reason why IMO is the absence of Hyde. He’ll probably never be an All-Pro or even a player you bring in to start. But I see him as a capable fringe starter somewhere in the NFL -
It reminded me more of how they used Cole Beasley in 2020. He’d take advantage of the attention paid to Diggs and get open for some “easy button” throws end up with about 7-8 yards. I remember reading some NFL executives say that Harty was a better route runner that he gets credit for. I’m hoping he can be used in a similar fashion

Connor McGovern Injury ????????????????
JohnNord replied to Riverboat Ritchie's topic in The Stadium Wall
Erik Turner from Cover 1 is someone that doesn’t really publicize his information but I find that more times than not, he’s correct. He has sources w/ the team He said to expect Williams to miss some time and that Edwards should be fill in admirably. I’m thinking McDermott announces him as “week-to-week” tomorrow. Though it should be interesting to see if they put him on PUP https://x.com/erikjturner/status/1694839455645946023?s=46&t=8ZEIwokTeanemk54SQ608g -
The Bills were in on signing him a few years ago, and it really makes you wonder whether he was in contention to potentially succeed Edmunds. I think he would be a better fit for the team than Dodson or Klein.
