Exactly… it seems like the current team (including Brown) has the right approach now. They mostly stay neutral and share information rather than opinion as it pertains to the Bills. They don’t criticize the Bills or their opponents very often. It leads to bland one-sided “reporting” but that is their job.

Florio: Brady to the Dolphins "Definitely on the Table"
JohnNord replied to Nextmanup's topic in The Stadium Wall
The scary part is that Mike McDaniel is probably the perfect coach to orchestrate this offense. Unlike Brady, teams will have to trade a ton for Lamar and Miami is out #1 picks for a few seasons. They also don’t have the cap space to sign him to the franchise deal he wants. So I think it’s a long shot but damn….what a nightmare it would be -
I always found this annoying and even somewhat insulting to the fan base. We know he’s a Bills employee, but it came off like he was doing damage control for the team. I remember that he would try to defend or talk up any coach or GM that was on the seat including Dock Jauron, Chan Gailey, Buddy Nix - despite the fact their lack of success. He’d go so far to post links to his “reports” in the old BBMB and you weren’t allowed to criticize him. He was very quick to block you on Twitter if you disagreed with something he said - which was quite often when made these kinds of statements. It wouldn’t surprised me if he was ordered to do this, at a time when Bills leaderships was very concerned about their impression and focused on “selling hope.” It just always came off as disingenuous. He blocked me years ago and I don’t listen to Brown much but he seems to be doing a better job with this over the past few years, so maybe he figured things out.

Yeah I have tried that before. It’s a lot of trial and error and it never seems that you can get it perfect, so I just give up. The sync would be awesome. If I had a choice, I’d listen to the Bills radio broadcast over the national TV broadcast most weeks

Mike Gesicki is a free agent. Would the Bills take a flyer on him?
JohnNord replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
He’s done in Miami. I’d love if it the Bills signed him but they can’t tie that much money up in the TE position after re-signing Knox -
It wasn’t really picking buddies. In the case of Murphy, when he had his stroke they needed someone ASAP to call the game in Cincy. There wasn’t time for a formal interview process. The members of the Bills radio team are Murphy, Brown, Wood, Tasker, Sal Capaccio, and Maddy Glab. Brown probably makes the most sense to replace him internally, though I guess that could have gone to Sal as well. Of course, if Murph decided to retire for good, I do anticipate they’ll look to external candidates with broadcast experience
-
I don’t listen to the radio broadcasts but from what I’ve heard of Chris Brown as an announcer, he sounded overly excited and kind of forced. Like he was trying to be a parody of a play-by-play man. I prefer Murph and hope he gets back in the booth next season How are you able to sync it? Because the delays on both radio and TV make it impossible

Very good write-up on Josh Allen and the Bills this postseason
JohnNord replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
I read this earlier today. Chris did a great job with the write-up. Hoping they really make balancing his decisions a focal point this week -
The 15 point swing that turned a blowout into a nailbiter
JohnNord replied to Billsfan1972's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah… to Shakir’s credit he did make a crucial 31 yard catch on 3rd and 10 that could have been picked otherwise. But yes, he makes the catch and the Bills score a TD to make it 24-6 and I think it’s a different game but…we got the win. -
I’m not so sure that’s true. Brown has an excelled RAS score and players like Bates and Dawkins should be able to get out in space. I just don’t know what the issue is…

There has to be a reason why the Bills never run screens. It wasn’t just Dorsey, they didn’t run many with Daboll last season either.

Florio: Brady to the Dolphins "Definitely on the Table"
JohnNord replied to Nextmanup's topic in The Stadium Wall
I agree… In LV he has his Buddy as cos h in McDaniel along with Davante, Waller, and maybe Jacobs. Something tells me he might want to end his career in San Fran - his childhood team -
Gonna throw this out there and then duck lol. Pass rush.
JohnNord replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall
I understand the logic behind the move but I wouldn’t be too optimistic given their track record. At the same time I recognize the importance of a good edge rusher in the defense , and just because they haven’t been overly successfully in the draft, doesn’t mean they should stop trying. I would agree with some other members here who felt that the past few drafts have been heavy on defense. I’d love for offense to get a higher priority in terms of OL and WR -
it seems like every team in the AFCE was hurt by injuries but we forget about the Jets. The ended up losing both starting starting tackles, along with several other lineman and running backs. Still even with those losses LaFleur was able to call a very good running with backups in the starting lineup. His downfall is the horrendous passing game which IMO is more on the QB’s than it is on his. It was painfully obvious the Jets were a good QB away from being a scary team this year. That’s not LaFleur’s fault…it’s the GM/HC and whoever selected Zach Wilson. Still Saleh is going into his final season, so he has to make a blooms sacrifice

Happy Six Years to Coach McDermott - Moment of Appreciation
JohnNord replied to BillsGuyOutWest's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yes but sadly it wasn’t just a few knuckleheads in this forum. There were times when much of the fan base wanted McDermott replaced as last as Week 10 of the season after they dropped two close games. -
Question about the origins of The Bills Maffia
JohnNord replied to Coldfronts's topic in The Stadium Wall
It all happened organically on Twitter and it’s crazy to think how it caught fire to the point that the name became associated with the team: -

Remember 7 weeks ago when people wanted to fire McDermott? -
Tua ruled out vs Buffalo, Skylar Thompson expected to start
JohnNord replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don’t think it’s entirely his choice. My guess is that neither that the Dolphins (and maybe the NFL) just aren’t comfortable with Tua suffering 4 concussions in 4 months. I remember after news broke Tua was back in CP, Chris Nowinski said he was done for the year and that no legitimate head trauma specialist was going to clear him this season. I’m glad that held up, because it seems like for him to play again they really would’ve had to turn a blind eye. -
Do we see an end of QB Mega Deals?
JohnNord replied to WhitewalkerInPhilly's topic in The Stadium Wall
Jimmy Haslam and Cleveland completely screwed over the other 31 NFL teams with the guaranteed money they gave Watson. The problem is, that deal is now precedent. It’s like when someone grossly over-pays for a house in a neighborhood in a high demand area, in most cases that inflates real estate of other homes in the area. The league owners want Watson’s deal to be viewed as an outlier, but the NFLPA, agents, and of course the players won’t see it that way. It appears that guaranteed money is the sticking point with Baltimore and Lamar. You can bet your arse it’s going to be a topic with Joe Burrow this off-season..maybe Justin Herbs too. These contracts will likely determine about the future of QB contracts. Like with Allen a few years back, it’s laughable to think these QB’s are going to take a “hometown discount” and ignore the deal that was given to Watson. Either way the QB contract is going to up. Teams are just going to have to be more comfortable with eating dead cap space if it doesn’t work out. High risk…high reward. -
Dolphins fans opinions on what we have to say about them 🤔
JohnNord replied to StHustle's topic in The Stadium Wall
Reading the comments online during the game there was a lot of dread watching the Skylar Thompson Miami offense as though they were anticipating a heart breaking loss. I think getting into the playoffs has helped lift their spirit a bit but there’s still a portion of the fan base that isn’t so sure -
People said the same exact thing last season… record 13-3
-
Taron kind of turned his body when taking on the block which put him in a bad position. The Hendrickson is terrible and a blatant attempt for a leg whip. I’m surprised no one called him on it. Dirty play
-
He actually has a point…someone should have stepped in. Dion Dawkins, Jon Feliciano and other Bills lineman stood up when defenders too rough with Josh after the whistle. What happened to Foles was bull####. Someone should have pulled him up either from Indy or NYG. With that being said, Saturday is a terrible coach and should not be back next season

Would you consider the Boogie Basham pick to be a disappointment?
JohnNord replied to JohnNord's topic in The Stadium Wall
I mostly agree but I think junky need to take into account draft position. So while Dane Jackson might not be a starting caliber CB, a solid depth player is pretty good value for a 7th round pick. You can say the same thing about Hamlin as a 5th rounder. Conversely that’s what makes Boogie kind of a disappointing pick as a 2nd rounder.
