  1. It does make you wonder but I’m against this idea because Jerry still works for 2 legit news organizations that cover the team. I think the Bills PR staff will be conscious of how the move would be perceived. As much as they might not like them, the organization needs the media and doesn’t want to give the appearance that they’ll boot you if a reporter asks a critical question. It would have to be more personal of a situation
  2. The virtue signaling on this one from fans on Twitter. He was stripped of his credentials after he left the Buffalo News and worked for that small ESPN radio station
  3. It wasn’t just Beane though… He went at the end of the 2nd so nearly every team passed on DK - including some who drafted receivers like JJ Arcega Whiteside and Andy Isabella over him. There were some concerns with how Metcalf would transition to the NFL. Obviously selecting Cody Ford was a terrible terrible pick but I don’t think DK was as sure of a pick as you make him out to be. Fans wanted him because he was big, fast and ridiculously jacked.
  4. Not just that, but the Hines usage especially is baffling to me. For years we’ve watched ways that teams can draw up a few plays for a specific gadget player - don’t see much of this in Buffalo despite having players like Hines, McKenzie, Shakir, and Brown - all who could be good for a screen or special play
  5. The fact they need to sign these veteran WR’s in December is really an indictment of the personnel department (Beane & co), Dorsey, and players like Gabe Davis but especially Isaiah McKenzie. The Bills doubled down that last year’s WR talent would improve. They’ve mostly been the same players as they were last year in a reserve role. Whose fault is that? Dorsey for not utilizing them properly? The WR’s themselves? It were they just never starting caliber to begin with?
  6. Dumb comment by Jerry. Seems like men “cheerlead” as much as the women - especially when it comes to Josh Allen. With that being said, there’s people calling for him to be fired from his gigs at Channel 4 and Niagara Gazette on Twitter. It just comes off as weak. Dumb, out-of-touch comment? Yes. Reason to be fired? Probably not. It also should be noted that there’s somewhat of a method to his approach. He sees himself as an old-time print columnist who’s job is to be a provocateur with strong opinions. There’s a few other people like him that still exist - Dan Shaugnessey of The Boston Globe comes to mind - but the sports columnist position pretty much died with the traditional newspaper. This comment just seems like a lapse in judgement but challenging Bills players and coaches is an orchestrated attempt to get a reaction He was talking about women fans though… not women reporters. Still a dumb comment but he wasn’t insulting female reporters
  7. I think at this point, it’s more about San Francisco’s QB friendly offensive system. If Shanahan can run his offense and has good personnel, QB’s are usually successful if they do a decent job reading the field and don’t turn the ball over. We saw this not only with Jimmy G but also with mediocre QB’s like Nick Mullens and CJ Betheard both who started out fast. Historically though, there’s been a limit with how far they can go before defenses catch up. We’ll see what happens this season
  8. Bills are gonna have their hands full with this big fat dynamo. He wrecks OL’s and flys around the field like crazy
  9. Everything said here is 100% spot on. I do think that Dorsey (as well as Allen) are struggling with mixing up check downs and shot plays
  10. You’d have to imagine that’s the case considering they just got James Washington back off injury.
  11. I don’t agree… the difference is that in that situation the Bills were driving downfield for a score. Over the past few weeks the Bills have been ahead
  12. The Jets receives actually made harder catches in the rain
  13. I’m guessing this was in response to fans getting on McKenzie about his drops. I hope he does not lean in on the wet ball as an excuse too much. IMO this is a bad comparison considering most fans aren’t professional athletes. Probably fair to say a starting NFL wide receiver should be better than a shlub off the street.
  14. I really don’t think so, only because even with the struggles the Bills have still been successful. But more importantly, he was the handpicked OC of the franchise QB. I think things would really have to go downhill fast for him to get fired after 1 year. Unless Josh is in agreement that he sucks, which it doesn’t sound like he is, I don’t think he gets fired. I think the other problem is that the Bills know a lot of their talent didn’t really improve from last season. Davis, McKenzie, Spencer Brown, were all expected to take a step forward this season. They are basically the same players they were last season. When you couple this with the fact that FA’s like Saffold and Crowder played very meh and the lack of contribution from rookies, I think you have to consider what Dorsey was able to do with the tools he was given. Overall, I think he’s done well enough to get a second crack but you never know
  15. This is a good point thought it was pretty baffling to find that Elam was benched. While he isn’t a natural zone corner, the stats show that overall he was decent. In the past, we’ve seen players like Isaiah McKenzie made to be a healthy scratch and then become of a focal point of the game plan when necessary. I would be surprised if Elam is a healthy scratch for both the Jets and Miami game but we’ll see
  16. No I disagree. Lots of coaches have an unsuccessful first stint. Plus he did make the playoffs with Christian Ponder. It’s not like he squandered talent
  17. I think it’s more about his age than race. Every teams wants to hire the next Sean McVay
  18. Clarence Hill from the Dallas Beat said that OBJ is 5 weeks away from playing! That puts his earliest return date in Week 18. More likely the wildcard round. Listening to this podcast makes me think there’s a definite chance he doesn’t sign until the Spring
  19. For Leslie’s sake, I hope it materializes. He deserves another shot. What gives me pause is how he was bypassed previously. Houston actually hired David Culley - one of the worst and unqualified coaching hires in recent memory - over Frazier in 2020. I think what hurts him the most is his age. Hiring a well-spoken, polite, unflashy but successful 70 year-old assistant coaches to takeover does not sell tickets (Ask Houston). If he does get a shot, the best thing he can do is hire young coordinators and be the CEO of the team. Ironically, if SD fires Brandon Staley that might be a solid landing spot
  20. Bills players have been sick over the past few weeks. They were fine on game day
  21. I guess but committing a two-year deal to a player that won’t even work out to show where he is at is a risk. Like Jerry, I’m not too sure many GM’s would make that deal
  22. Not sure how Odell expects to get a multi year deal when he won’t even work out with teams. I think there’s definitely some truth to what was reported with Dallas. Best case scenario seems like a one-year deal, but there seems to be doubt as to whether he’ll be ready by the playoffs I think this a definite possibility. He was injured in February 2022 and probably had surgery shorty after. That puts his recovery at about 10 months, which is on the shorter end of the recommended 9-12 months. Out of all that hype, he might not even sign
