  1. You are correct but I was looking at things in terms of a multi-year period, not just this off-season. Buffalo, Kansas City, and Cincinnati all have elite QB’s but each saw their post seasons come to an end in different years due to line play. At different points, it became obvious that an upgrade was needed. It just seems that both Kansas City and Cincinnati put more resources in addressing the issue than Buffalo has…so far at least
  2. I will feel a little better if they draft an OL prospect in the first 3 rounds. I feel they should go OL in Round 1 and then WR in Round 2 I think Dawkins would be a great guard but while he isn’t perfect he’s fairly reliable protecting Josh’s blindside. I’m not sure if they would feel comfortable with a relying on a rookie for that
  3. They haven’t really spent that much I would not be shocked to see LB/DE in Round 1. It’s probably my biggest fear
  4. Morse isn’t perfect but you can argue he probably was their best lineman last season They probably watched the Super Bowl
  5. I’m bringing up Tommy Doyle because that’s usually the level of play you can expect from a mid-round rookie draft pick. Do you really think that a rookie tackle is going to be the type of player that pushes Brown? Unless he’s a first round draft pick… I don’t.
  6. I actually think they’d like Bates off the bench. The problem is they paid him a starter’s contract to keep him on the team. So either he has to be really bad that he gets benched or Ike Boettger has to be really good.
  7. I agree McGovern will be better than Saffold, but again this move pales in comparison to how KC and CIN attempted to address their OL. I would have liked a better player at guard like Seumalo or Powers. Brown is just not very good. I think the Bills are putting too much hope in him. You mentioned “drafting competition,” like who? Tommy Doyle? We’ll see what the final OL room looks like, but without investing significant resources on the OL, you end up with a unit like last season
  8. We think alike. My problem is that unlike CIN and KC who proactively put a lot of resources in their crappy OL’s, the Bills seem content to hope that last years line will get better. Replacing Saffold for McGovern should help but is that really enough? And does anyone actually think Spencer Brown is suddenly going to be a great RT after two largely below average seasons?
  9. No I just don’t think the Bills are doing enough to protect their QB. Look what they’ve invested on the OL the past two seasons compared to CIN and KC. Do you disagree?
  10. Ok but you get my point. Kansas City has consistently put a lot of resources in protecting their franchise QB in comparison to Buffalo. Do you disagree?
  11. They would have taken him back at a lower price. He overplayed his hand and ended up signing for much less in Cincy than what he demanded in KC
  12. I’m starting to get concerned with the Bills offensive line when compared to the other two top rivals in the AFC. When it became painfully obvious they needed to upgrade their OL, here’s what they did. Kansas City - paid big money for Joe Thuney (best guard available) and Orlando Brown and also drafted Creed Humphrey last season. This season they signed Jawan Taylor who was arguably the best tackle available in free agency. Cincinnati - last season signed one of the top RT’s in FA La’el Collins as well as two FA guards in Karras and Kappa to decent contracts. This season they went out and signed Brown. Buffalo - signed Connor McGovern to a decent contract. Returning 4/5 staters. I’m very much concerned about the Bills OL
  13. We will see… there’s a lot of time left in the off-season. I did like the decision to let Edmunds walk for $18M, but I’m concerned Bernard is the plan to replace him. Re-signing Poyer was a great move though we need him to stay healthy all season which is not a given at his age.
  14. I think there’s an excellent chance both positions are addressed in FA. Unfortunately, I can see Buffalo adding more of an AJ Klein type player and not a Lavonte David or Bob Wagner. I think they draft a safety in Round 1
  15. I think he is bargain shopping. Not too different than Kansas City last season
  16. Good to see he is ok. I did like reading his updates
  17. The chain idea reminds me how Arizona overrates the whole Hail Murray catch. Yes it was an unbelievable catch but in the grand scheme the win wasn’t very significant for the Cardinals as they went on a losing streak missing the playoffs. Fans were still bragging the catch into the off-season which I thought was silly
  18. That contract scares me….3 years $18M. Does that mean Williams signs for 2 years $20M? Too much for a RB…IMO
  19. My concern as well. Cook’s speciality out of college was as a pass catcher and he hardly got any targets. Same can be said for Hines.
  20. I will give Poyer a lot of credit. He wanted to cash in on his final “big” contract after an All Pro season. I get the impression Buffalo didn’t want a multi-year extension. He hired Rosenhaus to play hardball - and he could have held out, or complained publicly to pressure the Bills or make them look bad. Instead he was a consummate professional on and off-the-field. He played through several injuries when he could have taken it easy on a contract year. You can even argue that the three Bills losses were due from his absence. I think he might be a little too proud to return to Buffalo but Poyer has been a great player for the Bills. The concern for me is how bad he broke down toward the end of the season. He had his worst game of the season in Cincinnati.
  21. I believe this is a special teams signing. I sure hope it is….Dodson was not very good anytime he needed to play meaningful snaps during the regular season.
  22. I didn’t love this signing… my guess is that they are giving him a second look based on his special teams skills but I don’t think he’s a lock to make the roster.
  23. He’s an older player but I think they need him
  24. My problem has never been the defensive rotation as much as it had been the players who play in that rotation, and what the Bills spent to get those players. You can find that kind of production from cheap FA’s - not 1st and second round draft picks
  25. I remember when the season ended and he was “cleared” after the loss in Buffalo, McDaniels and Grier said that doctors told the team Tua no more prone to conductions than any other NFL player. OK, then why this training this off-season?
