  1. He actually has a point…someone should have stepped in. Dion Dawkins, Jon Feliciano and other Bills lineman stood up when defenders too rough with Josh after the whistle. What happened to Foles was bull####. Someone should have pulled him up either from Indy or NYG. With that being said, Saturday is a terrible coach and should not be back next season
  2. To be honest, it makes you re-evaluate what’s really important in life. We get so wrapped up into the Bills and worry about winning a Super Bowl, but yesterday reinforces what’s really important in life
  3. I mostly agree but I think junky need to take into account draft position. So while Dane Jackson might not be a starting caliber CB, a solid depth player is pretty good value for a 7th round pick. You can say the same thing about Hamlin as a 5th rounder. Conversely that’s what makes Boogie kind of a disappointing pick as a 2nd rounder.
  4. I don’t think this ever happened. I guess there’s a chance he suggested it behind closed doors but there were so many leaks back then, that if the story had legs it would’ve made its way into the media. Also if you remember, Rex signed IK Enemkpali for no other reason than to troll Geno and the Jets. Doesn’t exactly sound like a player Rex thought too highly of. Finally in summer 2016, the Bills resigned Tyrod Taylor to an extension and seemingly were behind him as starter. This kind of kills the whole “change of scenery” idea because what would be the point of trading one backup QB for another? More revisionist history from Rex trying to pretend he thought more of Geno than he did
  5. You may be correct. But I think Boogie is a lot like AJ Epinesa. He may be a solid rotational DE but I think that’s his ceiling. That’s fine but you can find solid rotational DE’s much later in the draft after round 2. This is what makes him a disappointing pick IMO
  6. It’s not an egregious pick but like you said, it’s not unreasonable to think that the pick was a disappointment and that we should be seeing better returns
  7. formal definition: ”A street free agent is any unsigned player, who is not on a practice squad, 53-man roster, nor otherwise employed by a football team. These players are available to teams after the main Unrestricted Free Agency, Restricted Free Agency, and Undrafted Free Agency periods are complete. This term is typically reserved for those who are “on the street” during the course of the season and those who have been under contract with an NFL team at some point in their career.” So John Brown or Cole Beasley are street free agents, as was Shaq Lawson who was cut in Week 17 of the 2021 season
  8. Has he really been that productive though? Out of all the DE’s on the team, he’s probably the weakest DE defending the edge and he isn’t much better as an edge rusher than any other DE on the team. He’s also been beat out by street free agents like Shaq Lawson and a fellow second-round pick in AJ Epinesa. I think that Boogie is a clear miss as a second round pick. Anytime your 2nd rounder can’t produce better than a street free agent or a UFA off the practice squad, the returns aren’t good.
  9. I didn’t mention Creed Humphrey at all. I just said that when there’s not much drop off between a UFA and a 2nd round DE which leads me to believe it was a bad draft pick. So let me restate the original question - do you think Boogie Basham was a disappointing draft pick?
  10. When was this? A trade for Basham? Or an opportunity to trade down?
  11. I never said they had no clue how to draft. Just that Boogie Basham was a bad pick. Not sure why you feel the need to change the subject. Do you disagree that Boogie has been a disappointment as a second round pick?
  12. I’ve always thought that it was a really bad sign when you make your high round draft picks a healthy scratch - especially at positions of need
  13. It was all a mirage from the start. Odell was planning on playing contenders against each other to get a multi-year deal which wouldn’t prevent him from playing on a prove-it deal. I completely believe he knew he wouldn’t be ready until at least mid-January. Based on his past, it might have been worth it for teams to gamble on a vet minimum deal if he could play a few games before the playoffs to assimilate in the offense and work off the rust. But no one was giving him a multi-year deal if it meant he wasn’t going to be ready until after the playoffs starter. Not even the Giants!
  14. I re-watched the Bills/Bears game the other day and noticed a few nice reps from Kingsley Jonathan against a bad OL. It was impressive to see a guy off the PS flash a bit in his limited opportunities. He was activated because Boogie Basham was injured and there was basically no drop off between an undrafted DE who bounced between PS’s and a 2nd round draft pick. In my opinion, the selection of Boogie Basham pick is looking very underwhelming. I’m pretty sure the idea that like Rosseau, the idea was to give him a “redshirt” season to learn from vets like Jerry Hughes and Mario Addison to get him ready to contribute in year 2. The idea was good but the execution was poor. But after 1 season, Basham was not ready to contribute or to start and the team ended up sinking major assets for another DE in Von Miller. I’m kind of wondering why they selected Basham from the start. Pre-draft one of the things that made him appealing was his ability to be a hybrid DE/DT. He was supposed to be “pro-ready” and not a project like Rosseau. Yet the Bills had him drop a bunch of weight to be a faster edge rusher which never was his forte. Essentially making him a project DE. The returns of the 2nd draft pick is a rotational player who gives you the same production as a replacement level player. I guess there’s a chance he can improve a little bit like AJ Epinesa, but when you have street free agents like Shaq Lawson or undrafted practice squad players like Jonathan outplaying you, it’s hard to feel optimistic that a jump is coming in year 3.
  15. That wasn’t entirely on him. Hill did get past him but Tre was supposed to have some safety help rotating to his side. Hamlin never got there… check it out for yourself at 9:15
  16. The only thing that gives me pause is that Chicago has a pretty bad defensive front. I’d like to see what the Bills OL can do against a better defensive. Hopefully the Chicago game will kickstart them
  17. The hype for both players is based on their past contributions with the team but most informed fans have a more realistic view of their current abilities. But I think Brown and Beasley are two different players. With Brown you have a WR who relied on his speed and burst. Like most of those receivers he lost a step when he turned 30, and it’s been downhill since. He hasn’t been able to stick with a roster over the past two seasons. Signing him to the PS was worth a shot but it was unreasonable to think he’d have any major contribution. Beasley is a bit of a different story. You can say he’s lost a step but his game never was predicated on speed. While he might not be able to get much YAC, he should be able to rely on his smarts and route running ability to get into space and keep the chains moving. Even with his depleted abilities, Cole still had 82 receptions in 2021. So because I think Beasley can still help the team as a slot WR, it’s going to hard to find a spot from Crowder
  18. It’s not going to be Payton. Numerous Broncos reporters have said he isn’t coming to Denver. Also, any team that wants Payton will essentially need to trade for him and thanks the the awful Wilson trade, Denver is already down on picks. Finally, it’s been reported that Vic Fangio is Payton’s DC. I can imagine either side would want to work to work together again
  19. Just the way that BB handled the development of his “franchise” QB should be enough to get him fired. Matt Patricia as OC was every bit as bad as it sounded last off-season. I’d agree that reputation buys him some more time but I do think Kraft starts to plot a succession plan, if he hasn’t already. I read some comments that actually praised him for his coaching saying things like “with that offense it’s a miracle they won 7 games. Any other coach would have won 2.” The problem is that Belichick has complete control over his roster. So he was the one who built this crappy offense
  20. no doubt it isn’t good. The difference is that there’s been years in between his concussions. Still not good, but a better situation than Tua is facing this season
  21. I’m not sure why Denver loves GM Colonel George Patton so much. This trade for Russell Wilson not only depleted the teams draft capitol over the next few years but he also signed him to a franchise QB contract that is going ruin the salary cap over a minimum of the the next 2-3 years. Because of this, knowing that a coach is stuck with Russ as his QB for next year is really going to eliminate some HV candidates. Yet, ownership loves the guy responsible for this mess.
  22. Unfortunately he was largely cooked when he played with the Bills. I remember he was just not very good. He did have a pick six against Miami in Week 17 though
  23. They’ve tried a few that have been so poorly executed Allen aborted and threw the ball in the dirt. They also tried a WR screen to Diggs against Miami. Shakir struggled to block his man and a Miami defender came downhill to make a play. The result was 2 defenders coming for Diggs and a loss of 2 yards
  24. Classic example of a good player wanting to be paid like a great one.
