Three Dolphins Starters Suffer Serious Injuries against Ravens
JohnNord replied to johnk's topic in The Stadium Wall
Everything I read said Miami was optimistic Waddle would be back for the playoffs. It would have made the bye week huge. I don’t think he’s playing next week. If he does he won’t be 100% -
The 1 scenario that eliminates the Bills next week
JohnNord replied to Estro's topic in The Stadium Wall
The Bills always marched up well against Miami. Even more now with their injuries and Buffalo coming in relatively healthy. It’s all in front of them. If they are going to make noise, they need to win big games like this -
Three Dolphins Starters Suffer Serious Injuries against Ravens

I wouldn’t say Tua’s injury was serious. It was an injury but he might have been able to go back in. He’ll play next week. But yeah Chubb and Howard were carted off. I’d be surprised if both played next week No way… Tua plays. Mostert plays. The rest are going to out He was injured. It’s just not serious -
Bills-Dolphins Week 18 for the Division! SUNDAY NIGHT GAME
JohnNord replied to BuffaloBillyG's topic in The Stadium Wall
Miami fans are dejected over the Chubb loss. But aside from Chubb Miami is also looking at not having Howard - they are already down Jalen Phillips and Jerome Baker too. They should get Mostert back but Waddle is probably out and we don’t know where Hill is - he’s certainly not 100% with his high ankle sprain. Miami is also missing Conor Williams and Liam Eichenberg is not a great Center. Bills have a HUGE opportunity in front of them. They need to take advantage -
Long conversation between McD and Belichick
JohnNord replied to Ethan in Cleveland's topic in The Stadium Wall
Speculation from Boston beat reporters were that the interaction likely meant Belichick was not coaching in the division next year. He probably thanked McDermott and wished him well. -
To be honest, there’s been a lot drops that have just killed drives. I think this speaks to the talent more than anything. This is one part of the issue

Nobody wants to hear this but a big reason is JOSH ALLEN. You head that right….JOSH ALLEN. This is the hard truth no one wants to admit. You can blame the HC, the OC, the OL, the WR but he is the franchise QB and you need him to flat out play better when everything isn’t perfect. Fans here will blame anyone except the person who deserves the most blame. He just is not reading defenses and missing open receivers. He’s also been off target of deep throws and this was on full display today. I’m not sure if he’s injured or what, but he has not played well This is not to mention the turnovers. That INT today was a first down throw. It wasn’t an “arm punt” on 3rd down. The second issue is the receivers. It’s been the same issue as last season. When defense clamp down on Diggs (or if he can’t get open) no one else gets separation. Davis struggles with this. Shakir can be schemed open but a Josh doesn’t always see him. Kincaid is good but maybe not ready to step up as a rookie. With this crew you also have the issues with drops which has been a killer. This extends to the RB’s like Cook and Murray as well. Finally it’s the scheme. I’m not ready to put this all on Brady. He’s running a lot what Dorsey spent 1.5 years designing and building. He can’t throw it all out mid year and start from scratch. The scheme in Buffalo with the talent on the roster probably isn’t the best way to maximize Josh’s talent. I’m not sure if Brady is the right guy but the Bills will need an OC to design a system around Josh and have a commitment to improve the offense skill players. He’s right Dorsey was a big problem. Brady is running Dorsey’s offense using his personnel and likely many of his calls and concepts. But perhaps both were held back by the lack of talent at WR outside of Diggs and perhaps from Josh himself who can be hit or miss

It seems like a major screw up by Brad Allen and his crew. The league is now going into damage control and claiming that #70 reported but all of the video (and audio) will point otherwise. I know we’ve seen the officiating crew converse on the field and also for the “sky judge” to step in and help make the ruling. I’m not sure why this didn’t happen

There’s no way they are holding them back this week. Both are legitimately injured and if they could be active on Sunday, they would be. Based on your logic, Miami would be smarter pushing them to play this week to try to earn #1, and then allow them 3 weeks to recover. Even if they pull off a victory, Miami would still needs a win next week. Let’s say they play Waddle and Mostert. That gives them just 2 weeks to recover,

Random talking head says something about the Bills
JohnNord replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don’t care about him. It just seems silly that so many are angry at Gronk and the people most effected by it don’t care and are cool with him. -

But just about all of the Buffalo Bills have forgiven him. The Buffalo Bills organization did as well. I don’t get why fans are so pissed off, when the people most effected by the cheap shot don’t care. -

White is beloved but he forgave Gronk…the whole org did…why are Bills fan so angry -

Fans care more about the hit than Tre White himself. Brandon Beane actually tried to sign Gronk out of retirement in 2021. Plus Eric Wood just had Gronk on his podcast. The Bills don’t care…fans should let it go too -

Find me an example of one player who didn’t want to sign with the Bills in 2018? Who was a player the Bills wanted to sign and were unable to because “no one wants to come to Buffalo.” The only example I can think of is John Brown and he signed with Baltimore largely because the offer was better - but perhaps Baltimore was a better destination. Despite this, Brown was hardly the top FA of the WR class in 2018. He’d fall in line with the type of players the Bills were looking at. In 2018 the Bills were working to clean up the salary cap which included a significant portion of dead cap space. It’s not like Buffalo couldn’t get free agents. Plus Beane stated multiple times that his philosophy was to sign multiple FA’s who were undervalued in the market rather than go after big names. We would see this approach almost every offseason which a few notable exceptions (Morse, Miller etc) Also I’m not so sure Josh’s mediocre rookie year would be a draw for free agents. While we were impressed with Josh as a rookie, the majority of the NFL was not. Plenty of media pointed to his 52% completion percentage and his ability to pass for more than 300 yards. The additions in 2019, didn’t come the Buffalo for Josh Allen…they came because Buffalo paid them. And when you look at their profile, they are the type of undervalued players the Bills want. Beasley especially got a pretty nice deal despite being in the wrong side of 30. In fact, he was talking with New England and came to Buffalo for the money….not to play with Josh Allen. Did the emergence of Josh Allen help make Buffalo a more attractive destination? Yes but that didn’t happen until after 2020 when he proved he had arrived. So again, just as example of fans conflating the last and then trying to connect to dots to create a narrative which isn’t accurate. -

Hyde’s been fine when he’s on the field. One area that’s dropped off has been his ability to find the ball. He has 0 INT’s this season and I can’t remember him coming close this season. At the same time, it seems like he’s done a good job preventing deep passes as usual. -

JohnNord replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
This is incorrect. I think you are confusing 2018 with 2008. The Bills had a ***** ton of cap space and signing free agents wasn’t a problem. They just signed a lot of bad deals. -

JohnNord replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
That’s why I never bought the “doesn’t show up on the stat sheet” line. They were never great stopping the run when Stsr was active. Benjamin was a trade…he did not sign a free agent contract. But even if you threw Benjamin in the mix, I’d still pick star. There’s no doubt Benjamin was disappointment but unlike a Star or even a Murphy, his contract was short term and didn’t end up hurting the team for years -
Who in the AFC would teams rather not see in the playoffs?
JohnNord replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall
100%. Browns defense is legit. But I think the Flacco Cinderella story is going to end early in the playoffs. Not only has he been helped by great field position since taking over, he’s also been incredibly lucky on some of his throws. This was on full display last night against the Jets. -
That is such an odd choice. What on earth are they doing honoring him?

JohnNord replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
I feel he was ok in 2018 too but it became clear early on that he wasn’t going to be any kind of impact player. The excuses stated for start then and continued throughout his tenure in Buffalo. My guess is that he’s a pretty good human and leader. The Bills didn’t want to make him look bad so we got “he does things that don’t show up on the stat sheet.” -

After seeing Star Lotulelei in action, it quickly became clear he is tied forBrandon Beane’s biggest FA bust along with Trent Murphy - also signed in 2018. Star’s calling card was that he was a space eater that could occasionally flash as a pass rusher but he didn’t do that in Buffalo. But you know who did? Daquan Jones! Jones is the player that Beane thought he was signing in Star. -

100%. It then becomes they only won ONE Super Bowl. New England won 6, KC won 2, etc -
This totally makes sense. Over the few years, the share in the local Buffalo market has been insanely high. Unfortunately at #54, that viewership is a fraction of the audience that bigger markets get .

JohnNord replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
I’d compare Jones more to Linvall Joseph, the only other 1TDT on the roster and is exclusively a space eater at this point in his career. Even coming off an injury I think it’s feasible that Jones can match Joseph’s current play (as well as the others in that spot) on the interior and even provide a better pass rush as well. The reason why Joseph was signed in the first place was because the depth of Phillips, Settle and Ford are best played at 3TDT. They can play 1 tech but are average at best and quite often below that. If he could play at 60% it would be an upgrade. I’d agree that he’s probably not going to get many reps on Sunday. I also get why fans would want to temper expectations after seeing Von Miller struggle to recover but it’s important to not that this isn’t an ACL recovery and he isn’t 35. Also it’s important to remember to make space for him on the roster, the Bills released veteran Germain Ifedi who’s been rostered all season and was their later season insurance policy at RT. The team doesn’t do this - or they at least wait a week, if he wasn’t in a good spot. Either way, if the Bills can get into the playoffs, Jones is going to help this team. This is good news
