  1. I see things a bit differently. I think you getting a bit too caught in statistics rather than thinking about things from a practical standpoint. Styles make fights. Certain teams are tougher matchups for others. This was the case in the SB - Tampa Bay would pressure Kansas City with their front 4…Buffalo could not. As far as the losses in 2020, the bills defense just wasn’t on the level to compete with a Kansas City. Nothing they were throwing at Kansas City was working. Mahomes was slicing up the defense in zone and when they switch to man-to-man it got worse. The Bills should have beaten Kansas City in 2021. Yes you have the 13 seconds debacle but there also was the fact that no one on the defense stepped up to make a play. There was no pressure which would be their biggest emphasis in the off-season. Against Cincinnati, the Bills were missing the one player they signed to put them over the top in Miller, their best defensive tackle in Jones, Micah Hyde, as well as a banged up Jordan Poyer who didn’t look like himself. The first two drives were terrible surrendering 14 points on 2 possessions. The scored 13 points in the final 3 quarters. I’m not saying that the Defensive game plan was good. It was not. But let’s not pretend that they weren’t playing short-handed. Still bottom line - they gave up 27 points. The coordinator Bills fans should be concerned about us Ken Dorsey. He had a full offense with zero injuries at his disposal and he scored 10 points.
  2. TBH this is why I’m much more concerned about Dorsey as OC than Frazier. I’m hoping that a better OL fixes a lot of the issues. I can’t figure out why the Bills can’t a RB involved in the passing game. It kind of was the same last seasons, so my guess is that Josh bears some responsibility
  3. He isn’t though. Terry is not going to fire him next season if things go sideways.
  4. I think Rosseau has turned out to be a solid starting DE so far. He’s good against the run and is able to generate a pass rush. I’m not thinking he’s ever going to be a star but he also is not AJ Epinesa or Boogies Basham
  5. How can you make a prediction when we don’t even know what the rosters look of ANY team will look like?
  6. He never said that Josh doesn’t like his OL. Josh has always said glowing things publicly and is very close with Morse and Dawkins. What said is that as a whole, he didn’t seem like he could trust them to give him time. Too often he became used to getting rushed and improvising. As a result there were time he left a clean pocket because he didn’t anticipate he’d have time .
  7. Why is no one saying 2020…that was arguably his best season. He had time to pass and was absolutely dealing from the pocket. I hope to see that again in 2023
  8. Get ready for that enthusiasm to die. Leslie’s coming back 👏👏👏👏👏 Don't worry, the Jets have some space on their bandwagon Because over-emotional Bills fans don’t want him to
  9. Same man… I think the idea for Bernard was that he could play a Shaq Thompson “big nickel” or maybe give the Bills 3rd LB in a 4-3 defense. The problem is both scenarios take Taron Johnson, one of the best players on the defense, off the field. So if Bernard isn’t a replacement for Edmunds or Johnson, why draft him? To replace Matt Milano in ‘24? The past few years, the Bills seemed to be in love with the idea of hybrid players on defense who had position flexibility. Taron playing CB/LB, AJ/Justin Jefferson/Boogie Basham at DE/DT and Bernard at LB/S With the exception of Taron, no one else has been able to excel at either position
  10. The Bills defensive DVOA is actually excellent. This is why you give Frazier time to make some changes. Keep in mind there’s high year-to-year variance w/ defensive. It’s much easier to be consistent on offense. Bills have done well here
  11. At the same time Frazier’s defenses have always ranked highly year to year
  12. Not good enough…period. But he has one more year on a rookie deal and will be a solid WR3 next season. He’s not consistent enough to be counted on
  13. The fired Pederson after he went: 9-7 9-7 4-11 That’s a bit different than 10-6 13-3 12-5 13-3 No?
  14. This was Joe making this assumption about the OL. Josh didn’t say much in his presser. 🤷‍♂️ He’s a very good reporter and I thought this was a breakdown He explains… the first year of the contract renewal will be minimal about $6-$7M. It takes a jump in the next few years but the cap is expected to rise substantially after the new TV deal. Hopefully that gives you the room to make it work
  15. Don’t be foole…just like Josh Allen it’s mostly Brady’s ability to help cover up weakness. To his credit, Brady did it more with his mind as a cerebral passer but he was able to elevate the players around him. Outside from Gronk and Moss for a few season he never really had a elite weapons, but he’s always find a way to elevate the weapons he had like Edleman, Chris Hogan, Danny Amendola, Brandin Cooks etc… It also didn’t hurt that their offensive line was always very good. I’d say this is mostly a reflection of Belichick and Dante Scarneccia. On defense, Belichick was always very good at finding undervalued players that became stars in his defense. Besides Judon the last few years, NE never really a top pass rusher but they always pressured QBs. They also always had a good secondary. You can argue he still is good at this today.
  16. I know many of us are fans of Joe B. I thought he did a very good job analyzing the Bills potential off-season needs. You can listen below but I’ll list the 10 big points: 1. Sean McDermott is going NO WHERE! He understands the fan disappointment and blames the majority of the loss on McDermott for not having the Bills ready versus Cincinnati. But he said it’s impressive with how the team overcame so many obstacles to win 14 games. It would be maddening to move on from McDermotr. 2. Frazier is staying too. Same with McDermott. Talks about how they played poorly defensively against CIN but that the defense overcame many injuries to finish 4th in DVOA and that the defense bailed the Bills out in the WC against Miami. 3. Dangerous game with Ken Dorsey. It looks like Dorsey is staying and there is danger. His 2022 season, while good statistically, also showed little creativity with a failure to adjust and break tendency. Josh Allen wants him as OC and thinks he’ll get better. BUT if he doesn’t get better, the Bills might have wasted another season. The decision to run it back with Dorsey is probably the biggest gamble going into next season. 4. Beane needs to fix the OL BIGTIME The Bills OL struggled and switched schemes throughout the season - which is not a good sign. The OL depth was tested and was often very poor. Beane will need to do a better job at finding depth. 5. No “big ticket” free agent signings Forget any big FA contracts. Beane said it’s not gonna happen and that Von is the biggest signing this off-season az well. Bargain shopping only. 6. Tremaine Edmunds has a chance of re-signing Beane and McDermott raved about Edmunds. Joe believes the market will be strong but that the Bills can find a way to bring him back. 7. The Terrell Bernard draft pick looms large Bernard was a luxury pick that couldn’t see the field - even in garbage time. He is not a replacement for Edmunds and going into Year 2, there doesn’t seem to be any role for him on the defense. Given the talent that was available in round 3 last season and the fact Poyer is likely gone, it would have made more sense to draft a safety last season to take over. There’s a chance Christian Benford could step in. Either way it seems like the 3rd round selection could have been allocated much better. 8. Devin Singletary is likely gone but could be back if there’s no market. The Bills like Singletary but doesn’t see how the bring him back unless he doesn’t get the type of deal he wants in FA. 9. Bills believe in Spencer Brown but should they? He was one of the worst rated starters on the team. Joe doesn’t know how the Bills can possibly give Brown the benefit of the doubt given to how poorly he’s played. Believes Bills will sign a veteran player like “Rodger Saffold” to complete at RT. 10. Allen does not believe in his offensive line Believes there are a LOT of issues with the OL and the Bills need to do more to help Josh Allen. The actions of Josh Allen throughout 2022 show that Josh doesn’t trust his line, resulting him to bail on plays and not get through his position. He implied that there could be more moves in OL this season.
  17. Maybe not from Baltimore, but one of the QB needy teams will give it to him
  18. The QB market was set to go crazy once Watson signed his deal. People thinking that contract is going to be treated like an “outlier” are crazy. That deal is going to be the standard and Burrow and Lamar’s contracts are will come close to that number, if not exceed it. Beane deserves credit for locking up Josh after 3, when you could argue that the more pragmatic move might be to wait another season to make sure his breakout year wasn’t a fluke. It saved them a lot of money in the process. Of course as the contracts are getting bigger, at some point Allen and Mahomes are going to want a new deal.
  19. I don’t see the Bills wasting Josh Allen’s talent. They do need to give him him more on offense. This season the Bills showed a lot of faith in Davis, McKenzie, and Brown - you can argue all three didn’t step. On the OL they let Kromer talk them into signing Pro Bowl guard Rodger Saffold and he…sucked. Then you had Jameson Crowder who was injured for most of the season. Pretty confident they don’t make the same mistake twice
  20. I just don’t think the Bills will re-sign him, so it does make you wonder if they could flip him for an asset. The problem with Oliver is that he can feast on bad lineman, but when he’s matched up against against a physical OL, it’s often way to easy to neutralize him. While he can have splash plays, it often comes at the expense of an inferior talent. Star was terrible and one of the worst signings Brandon Beane has made. I guess he was a good teammate and a culture guy but on the field he vastly underplayed his fat contract. When you watch DaQuan Jones this season, you realize how much bad we had it with Star
  21. So you would re-sign Ed Oliver to Fletcher Cox money +$14M per year? Because that what it will take to re-sign him.
  22. I was extremely impressed with how well Philadelphia played in the trenches against a very good San Francisco OL and DL. Philly probably has an even more advantageous matchup on both sides of the ball. I think they can completely pound the ball against the defense both with the RB’s and Hurts. I also think Philly’s WR’s will have a huge advantage against the KC secondary - Hurts just needs to get them the ball. Then on defense, Philly has the quick edge rushers who have the potential to give KC’s weak tackles a tough time. Plus KC is pretty beat up at every major position. On paper, this looks like Phill victory but you know how the NFL goes
