Britt Reid Prison Term Already Commuted
JohnNord replied to RoyBatty is alive's topic in The Stadium Wall
Mother of girl injured in Britt Reid crash shocked by commutation https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/39708520/mother-girl-injured-britt-reid-crash-shocked-commutation This is gut wrenching… and I’m sure the pardon has nothing do with Parsons fandom… imagine trying to defend this. Draw your own conclusions… ”Jackson County prosecutor Jean Peters Baker told ESPN last week she would have never agreed to a plea deal if she knew Reid would serve only 1½ years. Parson, a self-proclaimed Chiefs fan, attended the Super Bowl in Las Vegas last month where the Chiefs won their third Super Bowl in four years. He received a tattoo to commemorate their win in 2023. Miller said she was not notified by the governor's office about the commutation, and she said she has not personally heard from Reid or his family since the accident. Asked if she would take their calls, she said "no." -

I completely disagree…Britt also has a prior record and deserved way more time. Because he’s a Chiefs fan and doesn’t want to fathom the possibility that his favorite coach could be involved with getting his son out of trouble which he’s continually done for the past two decades. -
I like the idea of signing DJ Reader to a one-year deal. Seems like the perfect option

You honestly believe that his last name had nothing to do with it? Come on man? -

It’s infuriating to hear Reid was released. I would be shocked if Andy’s relationship with the governor premeditated this. I’ll hesitate to make any judgement about Andy as a person or a father because we don’t know for sure - but I would question whether a release is helpful for Brit or just another way to enable him -
I would be pumped to have Samuel and I think Brady would do well find ways to get him involved. My main concern is someone replace Gabe. Last year the offense stalled because there was no threat to go deep and outside of Diggs no other receivers could beat man coverage. They need a solid WR that can do both. Hopefully round 1

How many of players let go offered to take salary cuts to stay?
JohnNord replied to Saxum's topic in The Stadium Wall
I agree and would throw Hyde in the mix as well. The team needed to get younger either this season or next and I think it’s a self-aware move to make these changes -

I don’t think so. That happens around training camp but not usually in March due to the dead cap. Morse for example…he cost the Bills around $8M in 2023. If the Bills were to re-sign him after releasing him it would still carry a $3M dead cap. So if he signed a one year contract for, say $6M, he’s actually more expensive in 2024. Someone made a good point online while arguing that the “cap isn’t real.” They said moving on from Tre, Poyer, Mitch was more due to their age than it was the salary cap. -
Not sure why this redundant thread hasn’t been moved.

Yes

Do we really need a new thread for this?

Von Miller and Shaw Lawson set the edge much better that AJ. They cant have him play all the snaps at DE
-
I’m ok with re-signing him not as thrilled as you are. I’d like to see AJ play more consistent all around on the edge. While he’s gotten better at pass rushing and batting down passes, he’s also not very good against the run. In fact, at times he’s been a liability and his usage has been limited situationally. Also a mid-2nd draft pick turning into a “Pro Bowler” is not so unordinary. There’s a reason why team teams covet Day 2 picks.
-
That’s fine but you’re pretending that the body composition is an issue when he went through that 3 years ago…it’s no longer relevant. It would be like me saying “Josh Allen is still recovering from his elbow injury”
-
You can say the same thing about every player who’s left the team this season, including Mitch Morse.
-
He did the whole body re-composition his rookie season. By now it’s not a factor. He’s had 3 season to acclimate to playing at a lighter size. It sounds like you’re making excuses for him.
-
I don’t like it either. AJ is a really bad run defender and has been a liability at times so the team has to play him situationally.
-
Floyd’s production came in spurts and early in the season. 8 of his sacks came in 4 games. He never had a sack in December or January when the team needed him. Dont get me wrong. He’s a good vet to have on defense and a great signing by Beane. Not at $10M a season.
-
How many years are we gonna use this excuse for? It’s about four right now
-
AJ is a decent pass rusher but he’s horrendous against a run…a big liability. So I hope that whatever they pay him isn’t crazy.

We don’t even know what kind of money Ridley is getting
-
Look for the Bills to draft a WR in the first round and maybe another. I think they’ll likely sign an undervalued player while potentially bringing back a player like Trent Sherfield for ST/WR6
-
The comment was “Ridley is a downgrade from Davis.” I’m saying I’d rather have Calvin Ridley than Gabe Davis at WR. They downgraded the WR2 position from one season ago

You’re the one who got butthurt over the fact that I DARE question the credibility of an “insider” on a message board.
