There’s long really bad players. As far as the “worst” if you factor in the opportunity cost you might consider John McCargo, Torell Troupe, or TJ Graham Marv Levy and Buddy Nix were bad too, and I think Bills fans really overrate Doug Whaley. Bottom line - this team was a mess before McDermott and Beane.

Agreed. It was funny watching Dolphins glaze him after re-signing Mosert in the offseason. He’s a 30 year-old back with injuries and a history of fumbling. Miami made the right choice

This is the problem… most of the players Beane drafted are solid but they just aren’t difference makers. The strange thing is that aside from Elam and Boogie Basham, he really hasn’t busted on many draft picks and he’s been good in the lower rounds. But you need a few of those high-end guys on your team if you want to win a championship. That’s enough incentive to really take a big swing for Garrett

Monos has been fair to Buffalo in the past and I don’t think he’s said anything too crazy. I think Dunne has had an axe to grind with McDermott in the past. Never got that sense from Monos. As far as why he said about Beane - he’s right. There aren’t enough difference makers on the team. Last season, I was indifferent on the Coleman pick. This season, I’m less than encouraged. He’s basically been the same player he was projected to be pre-draft. Maybe a touch better but still not the answer we were looking for at WR. Jury is out on Bishop. I think he’s played good so far and does have some upside. The line about “lazy GM’ing” is a joke though. Plenty of SB contenders have traded for difference makers because they couldn’t draft one.

Any predictions at this point in the offseason are worthless as we don’t even know what the final rosters will look like. “

Is this you Sal!?!? 😉 TBH I’d surprised if this alone was the case. I’m sure there’s a lot that went into this move. We don’t even know if Coleman or Carter are any good and Kincaid’s impact still is up for question

Not me. I don’t like the UFL because it largely lacks originality and appears inferior in every aspect. Only good part is that it allows the NFL to test rules like kickoffs etc Arena League Football was a distinct variation of football with unique presentation and rules. It was a genuine game, not a mere imitation of the NFL. The issue is that there have been numerous localized indoor football leagues like IFL that were poor imitations of the AFL. I don’t see an IFL being successful in Buffalo but we’ll see

The Stadium Wall is a great place to come talk about the Bills

TBH this forum is pretty cool. Even though we don’t always see things the same I think most of us want to same goal. Always appreciate how people can go back and forth without resorting to insults or name calling. It makes it fun. -
Slick Rick about to be Bills most valuable non player person.

The fact that Josh knew the mailroom guys name is incredible. Loved the video -
Sean Murphy… the son of John Murphy

It’s an interesting idea but the sense I get is that it’s a lot harder of a move than it sounds. You would have think Buffalo, LAR, or Baltimore would have tried this already. I’m guessing it’s not an option. The Bills org still loves Tre and I believe he took a photo on the field after the Baltimore loss. But I think they are also realistic about his ability and I can’t see them bringing him back unless is on the PS

Bills scored more points than any other team this season..
JohnNord replied to Steptide's topic in The Stadium Wall
If the O is set, why did McDermott say they needed needed to add impact players on offense and defense? He probably wasn’t talking about QB, OL, or RB… he meant at WR. The Bills know they need to upgrade the WR room, which is why they traded away a 3rd round pick for Cooper. They know Mack Hollins can only do so much as their primary outside WR. Like I said, I see them bringing back Hollins, adding a WR like Hollywood Brown and drafting a WR as well. That’s exactly what they need at WR and the Bills know it -

Cooper won’t be coming back - they’ll need 2 WR’s - hopefully 1 in free agency and the other through the draft -
This can’t be understated enough. Bills re-signed Tre in 2020 believing they had a foundational piece to their defense for the next five seasons. They got about 1.5 years out of that deal. No one wants to hear this but thanks to coaching and the play of vets like Hyde and Poyer, Bills were able to get by with below average cornerbacks. But this was quite a drop off from Tre’s play prior to 2021. Also Tre’s struggle to recover created a massive need at CB ultimately forcing Buffalo to reach for Kaiir Elam - one of Beane’s biggest draft blunders
-
That’s not the same scenario but…go on
-
There’s no guarantee Crosby will be traded. He seemed to be fine with Pete Carroll as head coach. Who knows where Garrett will end but are speculating Philadelphia. If the Bills want in on Garrett, they’ll have a shot.

You can’t give the award to 4 players. They all played good neither one really stuck out above the others. Maybe Sweat? I understand why Hurts got the award
-
That’s not a strength of the Bills corners. It isn’t what they do well. Maybe if you’re a WR5. I don’t really agree with this at all - give me some examples
-
If you’re going to be critical of this regime, it’s lack of high-end talent. Hell McDermott came right out and said it at the end of his press conference. Every GM misses on draft picks. As good as Brett Veach is, take a look at his history. So even though missing on Elam and Basham hurt the team badly, it does happen. The problem with Beane isn’t that he misses very often. He’s drafted a lot of solid players, a handful of above average players, and maybe even a few approaching high-end (Cook, Brown, Benford). He just never hit home runs. And in these big games you need your best players to step up. Meanwhile one of those first round hopeful “home runs” dropped a pass to end the Bills season.

If this isn’t a tweet about talent on Philly vs. Buffalo, I don’t know what is:

This is now on Beane, no question he needs to step up.

Did the bot tell him to select Jaelin Raeger over Justin Jefferson 🤣 You’re correct about Roseman’s reputation though. A reminder that success doesn’t come overnight -
Sure I just feel like a lot of fans here are underselling the talent on Philly’s defense and overstating the talent on Buffalo and instead pretending like it’s all on coaching. Philly is stronger on all 11 positions on defense
-
Yeah the reason he fell was because there were concerns about whether he could play as a traditional boundary corner. I’m just pretty down on the Coleman pick after what I saw toward the end of the season. Really hope he surprises us. To say that the coaching and roster sucks is patently wrong. As you pointed out they’ve been very successful. Where I think you can criticize is finding high end talent at a few key positions - specially DL and WR. I did think this roster lacked talent overall but to win 13 games was quite the accomplishment
-
Cooper plays NCB. Are you going to take Taron Johnson off the field? If you want to lament the Coleman pick after year 1…. T’Vondre Sweat or Ladd McConkey seem to have been the missed opportunities
