  1. The team was far from listless against Miami. Go back and watch the game. Josh consistently put them in a bad position with turnovers and taking horrible sacks. The narrative that Skylar Thompson did anything to beat them is pure bunk. He was 18/45 for 220 yards and a 44 rating. Hill and Waddle were held in check. There was 1 Miami TD drive of 75 yards. The rest of their points came off Allen turnovers, including a fumble return for a TD. If you remember they were toasting Miami 17-3 and cruising before he got reckless. Not sure if it was related to Damar, personal situations or what but Josh’s playoff games in 2022 were uncharacteristically bad and nearly cost them the game against Miami.
  2. My bad… I remembered it incorrectly. But the Bills did start to get some momentum on offense and that fumble by Kincaid was huge.
  3. The Bills caught some momentum late and were a Dalton Kincaid fumble in the red zone away from taking the lead. Then they were a missed Von Miller tackle away, from getting the ball back for a chance to win late in the game. The Bills have struggled to stop Burrow/Chase/Higgins as most teams have, yet they have up surrendered 27 and 24 points. The offense has yet to score over 20 bs. Lou Anarumo’s defense
  4. Fans aren’t the one that gets to fire McDermott. The guy who actually can determine his fate loves and admire him. Every Buffalo beat reporter will tell, sans a major catastrophe, McDermott is one the safest coaches in the league.
  5. Josh was Beane and McDermott. Terry allegedly loved Mahomes in 2017.
  6. I don’t think it’s a certainty that he turns into the same QB in Denver. In 2018, the HC was Vance Joseph - a terrible head coach and an average Defensive Coordinator on a good day. OC was mediocre Bill Musgrave who would be out of the NFL after 2018. QB Coach was the unspectacular Mike Sullivan. The roster on offense was terrible. Beane and McDermott, scouted, drafted and set up a good multi-year plan to develop a franchise QB. Elway tried too with Paxton Lynch and failed badly.
  7. Still 6 weeks until Week 1. Hopefully it doesn’t happen.
  8. You think they keep 5 safeties though? I think the only way he makes the 53 is if one of the safeties ends up on IR.
  9. Joe is right. With Edwards facing a multi-week absence Jackson is the replacement. I’d be surprised if he’s on the roster Week 1.
  10. You’re not in Fredonia anymore! Getting autographs is extremely rare unless you have VIP access on the field. If you’re lucky players will stop by the bleachers on the far side to sign. But there are so many people it’s nearly impossible to get autographs otherwise, like it was at Fred.
  11. Josh was the one who help recruit. When he wants a WR that’s reasonable to attain (I.e. Beasley, Brown, Coleman) Beane usually gets him
  12. I used the same exact example you did. Hollins is not getting cut, so just like Allen or Oliver he’s not even candidate for this topic.
  13. The problem is the camp reports from media are often contradictory. I’ve read that Milano was beat by Ray but also that he got to the sideline. Who knows what the real story is? Best to wait until the real games start:
  14. K… then my surprise cut is Josh Allen because it would the biggest surprise if he was cut. Good candidates though I think it would take a lot to cut MVS. Josh recruited him and he’s getting first team reps. I think Williams is definitely on the bubble. What will save Solomon is that he’s a 5th round pick with potential. Beane hates cutting draft picks.
  15. Ok but you’re missing the point of this thread. It should be surprise candidates that might actually get cut. Hollins does not appear to be one of them
  16. Of course it would be a surprise. It would also be a surprised if Josh Allen was cut but that’s not happening. Obviously, Hollins is not the same situation. But there has been zero evidence to suggest that he’s a potential cut or on the roster bubble? Why would you cut a player that’s getting first team reps, is a locker room leader, and has been highly spoken of by QB, HC and OC?
  17. The only comparisons between Hollins and Kumerow is that they both block well for a WR and can play special teams. Hollins is an established veteran that has been more productive as a reserve WR whereas Kumerow was a fringe roster player. All reports from SJFU has been that Hollins is getting a lot of reps with the first team offense. He’s also been praised for his leadership by McDermott, Allen and Brady. Hollis is a safe bet at WR.
  18. …in September and October
  19. It’s way higher than 50%. The way the deal was structured it was always going to be 3 years. It would really take a strong performance to ever consider bringing back Von at his age and salary. I’m not sure where you’re seeing this “hope” last season. There were very few “flashes” from Miller from both a pass rush and run defender on the edge. Take a look at his stats - you can argue he was one of the least effective starters at DE in the league. In fact, he was routinely one of the worst players on defense which forced the team to make him inactive for the biggest game of the season in Week 18. He show a few flashes in the postseason but was overall a non factor.
  20. That’s why his “I shouldn’t have been playing last season” comment annoyed me. Without exaggeration, Von was consistently the weakest player on defense. It should have become clear to both the Bills and Von that he physically wasn’t ready, yet it took them until Week 17 to figure this out. I think it’s a long shot that Von will ever get back to the player he was pre-ACL. But he was so bad last season, I think it will be impossible for him not to play better. I’d bet anything that this is his final season with Buffalo. With that being said, I don’t fault Beane for taking the big swing to land Von. Every player is one bad injury away from changing the trajectory of their career and you can’t really predict ACL tears.
  21. Not if they knew how poorly he played. The criticism for Miller last year is warranted IMO It’s not hindsight when Von was the least effective player in the field week after week. I know the Bills made him inactive in Week 17. It probably should have happened weeks earlier. His play was so bad People in this thread would disagree with you
  22. The whole situation is kind of infuriating. If he knew he shouldn’t have been playing he never should have been pushing to play. Also Buffalo never should have taken him off IR until he was ready. I don’t find Von playing when he knew his knee wasn’t ready to be admirable. Just the opposite, as his play hurt the team. Von had 0 sacks and 3 tackles in 12 games last season. It’s not a stretch to believe that role players like Shaq Lawson, Kingsley Jonathan or even Kameron Cline could have been more productive with his snaps. I always thought the game against Cincinnati was very telling. It was 3rd and 2 and the Bills were down a score and Von’s responsibility was to hold the edge. Bengals run right at Von and he’s great position to make the stop. Just Joe Mixon broke his ankles, picking up the first down and ending the game. So much for “the Closer.” I really hope Von can turn things around but it can be understated how ineffective he was last season. Everyone understands that the injury derailed his stint in Buffalo. The frustration comes from comments he made that shouldn’t have been playing. If he shouldn’t have been playing, why was he pushing to return as quickly as he did. And why did Buffalo activate and play him when it clear he wasn’t anywhere close to ready?
  23. I am pretty sure he has regular media access this year and was covering Bills mini camp and OTA’s with the rest of the crew.
