  1. Free Agency is fools gold more times than not
  2. Sure - and Aaron Rodgers recovered fully from an ACL in 5 months.
  3. Rodgers never had an ACL injury…. It was a torn Achilles. Also many doubted that he was ready at the end of the season
  4. This entire thread is you arguing with people why Diggs is healthy and why he’ll be a good signing for New England. You are literally using the “coaches know more than you do” to justify your claim despite ignoring the many examples of players over 30 struggling to return to form after an ACL tear. Of course, you couch your support by saying “it may not work out.” This is your way of having an out when anyone dares to criticize your take. I also find you comment about “who cares about his stats, he was productive” to be humorous. By your definition a running back who averages 3 yards a carry but gains close to 1,000 is “productive.” Not even worth arguing this dude.
  5. On pace for 1,000 yards… with a HIGH volume of catches that saw him fail to eclipse 100 yards. You can argue he was on pace to have less than 10 yards per reception. The only reason I responded to you was because you downplayed the ACL injury because “he worked out” for the team. Now you’re backtracking? Some the Bills fans here that are talking about a what a great signing this is, are the same ones who thought Shane Merriman was going to regain his All Pro form in 2011
  6. Diggs also was on pace to have his lowest yards per reception of his career. The Bills also cleared Von Miller to play in Week 5 off an ACL. He was not the same player. Ditto for OBJ. This happens a lot with ACL injuries. You do realize that many WR needy teams passed on Diggs in free agency for weeks, including New England who was unable to land Chris Godwin, right? But keep acting like the Patriots signed Justin Jefferson He couldn’t play like he did in his prime years in Houston. Pretty sure that doesn’t happen after an ACL at age 31
  7. It all depends on your definition of productive. If you’re relying on him as a WR1 it’s not that great and Houston’s offense and passing game struggled when Collins got hurt and Diggs was the #1 option. One thing that will help Diggs is that his game was based on precise route running and not flat out speed. So I think he’ll be a good possession WR. But his days of being a WR1 are over
  8. Maybe Bob Kraft has a DeLorean and Diggs could travel back in time
  9. The crazy thing about Diggs is that he hasn’t gained 100 yards in a game since that atrocious 14-9 victory against NYG on Sunday night on 10/15/23. Not even in the 8 games he played with Houston where was getting 6-10 catches in most games. Also his YPC has been declining every season since 2022. I feel this speaks to his decline as a WR1. He’s clearly lost some of the explosiveness he had in Buffalo early on. His best move might be as a Cole Beasley slot WR. He’s still very good at route running and can get open in short areas. So if his ego allows, I think he can be a safety valve for Drake Maye. But even Beasley struggled to recover from a knee injury at 31 after 2020. He never was the same WR. That’s why I’m not making a huge deal out of this signing. It reminds me of Bills fans in 20011 after signing Shawne Merriman Sounds like it’s a front loaded deal since NE has money to waste this season. Would not be surprised if this is a “one-year and we’ll see” type deal
  10. Not after he tore his ACL. He was the worst he’s ever been in his career. I’m referring to the training videos he posted during the 2023 offseason
  11. What sold him was the money! There probably weren’t many other teams willing to give a 31 year-old WR coming off an ACL that kind of deal
  12. 🎯 Diggs is the ultimate hypocrite and he always has been. He throws a fit at Josh for not getting him the ball versus Cincinnati in 2022, then in 2023 when he gets an opportunity he drops it. Then he talks so much about his legacy and leaves Buffalo because he wants to win a Super Bowl only to sign with a rebuilding team that is probably a year or two away from getting to that level. He’ll be off NE by that time. At the end of the day, he took the money. DHop is a great example and I wouldn’t be shocked if Diggs tries to get on a contender after next season
  13. Von Miller looked really good during his training videos too
  14. Pats fans are acting like they signed Diggs from 2021. Reality of the situation is that Diggs was on the decline. He was still good last season but after blowing his ACL it’s going to be tough. Also Im not convinced he’s suddenly going to be a great locker room leader. The way Patriots are acting reminds me of any time Buffalo signed a “name” veteran. Let’s them have fun… eventually the games will begin
  15. Give us a paragraph breakdown please. Just don’t post the video without any context. There should be a rule against this
  16. I wasn’t comparing Carter to Boogie as a player, as much as I was comparing their situations. Both were Day 2 picks that struggled to get meaningful snaps on DL with fairly weak depth. I especially think being made a healthy scratch that late in the season is not nothing and has been revered for your Bashams and Elams I think #1 is really the only reason for optimism, but I’m skeptical that the wrist injury was the entire reason. Why wouldn’t Buffalo put him on IR and get a free roster spot? Like people have said, some players aren’t good as rookies. I wouldn’t be shocked to see him improve, it’s just not something I’m banking on.
  17. That is a shame… I remember Stevens during his time in Buffalo. If I recall he was a pretty good safety
  18. I think part of the problem is that in the past, the Bills portrayed Brown and later Maddie like they are “beat reporters” covering the team. So when you hear this crew asking softball questions during pressers, you want to hold them to the same standard for local media. The difference is the OBL crew are employees of the team and not impartial. There’s an aspect of journalism in their position, but there’s also a big aspect of marketing the team that doesn’t really exist if you work at a media outlet. Their job is to get fans excited and interested in the Bills. Plus as team employees, it would put them in an awkward situation criticizing the same person you have to see every day at work. So yeah One Bills Live is a snooze fest but it comes with the territory and it’s a big reason why I don’t listen unless there’s a guest I want to hear (ie Greg Costello, Dan Orlovsky)
  19. I’d like to see what % is Josh and his LT and RT. It’s a huge percentage. McGovern has a moderate contract as does Samuel and Palmer. The rest are low contracts
  20. This was really cool! I’ve seen a bunch of these AI videos about celebs/public figures. I know there’s a number of programs to generate photos/videos with AI Anyone know the name of this software?
  21. I always got the sense that Cook’s social was all posturing. IMO, Buffalo was ready to re-sign him at the lower range of $8-$15M. Team Cook wanted the higher end and Beane said “work on areas of improvement (blocking) and we’ll revisit toward the end of the season.” Buffalo has all the leverage. He’s not going to hold out on his rookie contract. Also they can just franchise tag him next season and still end up paying him less than the $15M he wants. Plus is any team (not named NE) going to give Cook $15M? Probably not. So with nothing to lose, he throws out the $15M number social media. He also took a page out of the Diggs playbook and enlisted his bro to chime in. All this reminds me of a friend or co-worker who talks a big game on text/email about something they are upset about but when you see them in real life they are way less combative. That’s what I think happens with Cook. Maybe he skips OTA’s but he’ll be fine once training camp starts.
  22. It’s a good mindset… the bigger problem is questioning whether this regime can identify “elite” talent in the draft because right now, I’d only put Josh Allen on that list - though players like Brown and Cook might have a shot at coming close
  23. What concerns me about Carter is that he was horrendous down the stretch of the season. He never got to a point where he could hit the rookie wall. He was a straight up liability on the field. Carter was easily the worst player on a defensive line which consisted of street free agents like Jordan Phillips and Quinton Jefferson and underwhelming talent like Austin Johnson. Yeah I know he was playing through a wrist injury but he wasn’t just bad - he was the weakest link on the DL and it got so bad they made him a healthy scratch late in the season. The healthy scratch is what makes me pessimistic about Carter. He reminds me of Boogie Basham and it seems like his ceiling is “rotational piece” in the DL. Not great for a 3rd round pick. Hopefully I’m wrong but I’m pretty discouraged by Carter as a rookie.
  24. Here’s my question - what makes you think Carter will be any good. It seems that Bills fans are clinging to #1 his one great stuff against Tennessee and #2 struggling due to his wrist injury. I’m not sure we can put much stock into either. Carter was one of the worst lineman on the defense which is why he was scratched late in the year. Just like Coleman, I don’t think he can be much more than a depth piece. Not what you want out of your second and third round picks. Jury is out on Bishop who made some good and bad plays his rookie season. He too was injured but at least he was active on game day
