Players don’t care about draft position. Why should they when many won’t even be rostered next year? But coaches definitely are aware of draft position especially when it comes to the #1 overall pick. I guarantee you it’s something that has been discussed internally. Best example has to be Lovie Smith in Houston. It sounded like he coached for the W as an FU to the front office because he knew he was a goner.

That’s not what I meant. In 2019, McDermott chose to sit the majority of the Bills starters in Week 17 against NYG. The next week some felt they played a little rusty against Houston. Josh in particular had a patented “sugar high Josh” game and multiple receivers played poorly as well. IMO McDermott was trying to find a balance between rest vs. rust which is why he played the entire half. Three full seasons later we know that this isn’t the case. You can rest Josh and he’ll be fine for the playoffs. That’s what will happen Sunday. McDermott said his appearance will be “quick.” There’s no way he plays an entire quarter much less an entire half.

If you watch the video you’ll see why Dorian isn’t getting snaps. Some many people here scream about the “soft zone defense” and why opposing WR’s are “constantly wide open.” If you watch the film, part of the reason is because Dorian Williams is in the wrong spot leading to easy catches.

I don’t know about that. There’s 4 teams that will be drafting high that we know have no plan in place for a QB - TEN, NYG, LVR, NO. Maybe even CLE and NYJ. So if NE is #1 and you have teams like CLE, TEN and NYG underneath that pick becomes in demand. I just think of a team like NYG. If Daboll and Schoen are both back, this QB will decide their future. I can totally see them making a move for #1 - which made the win Sunday even more pointless.

Look at what NE did in the draft and the offseason. Draft capital is great but you have to hit on those picks. Right now it looks like they hit on the most important pick - maybe out of luck - but they have a long way to show they can put a competent team and coaching staff around Maye to succeed. No worth sweating about it. As far as the game on Sunday I don’t care either way as long as they leave NE healthy. I’ll go with a Bills to set a franchise record for wins with 14

I totally forgot about the actual Ravens-Bengals game outside of the Dalton TD. CIN was up by 2 scores but Baltimore stormed back to take the lead. Also I recall Buffalo being in control in Miami but good old David Fales stormed back and had a chance to win the game on the final drive. The final drive for CIN was pretty much a cluster. Dalton threw and INT which got called back and the big play to Boyd was a 4th and long. The final TD was so awesome that we forget all of the context around the game. So the win may have been a little flukey but so were a lot of NE/KC games and no one is taking away their championships!

Looking bad it was only a playoff appearance but man, it felt like they won the Super Bowl. It shows both how bad things were and how much better they’ve become. I don’t think we’re done yet!

Very true… Sure, I was thinking more in current terms but you are right to throw him in the mix

I’ve seen a few people compare the situation to 2020 where Buffalo was firmly at #2 with nothing to play for. Josh played an entire half then. But that was three posts seasons ago. If you listened to the press conference McDermott stressed that it would be short. I think he’s playing maybe one series at most.

That’s what I thought too but I remembering seeing a report that Daboll made the switch because he was coaching to save his job. I always thought it was strange that he chose DeVito over Lock. But if it was a tank, you’d figure out they would find a way to sit Lock and start a lesser QB - like Cleveland did DTR and Winston. I don’t think they would deviate from their plan just because your fall guy got hurt. Giants fans are now terrified that Schoen is going trade up with NE all because of the win on Sunday.

I think the weather factors into it. He doesn’t want to bundle up for the elements only needing to change into a separate in the cold

I don’t get the impression that Chiefs fans are shaking in their boots to face Cincinnati in the playoffs. Bills fans shouldn’t be either. Maybe not this season though

Pinto Ron has to be the most famous Bills “super fan” right? I know there’s others like Bills Elvis, the Cooks, Brother Bill and Del Reid, but I think Ron has to be #1. Also, that Pinto Ron tailgate crew is such an oddity. You have Pinto who drives a beater, cooks on the engine, drinks bowling ball shots and of course the ketchup/mustard ceremony. Then there is Pizza Pete who cooks pizza out of an old filing cabinet. Where did these guys come from? Seriously though, odd or not, 500 games is quite the accomplishment.

On one hand it’s tough to beat any team 3x in a season. On another Miami are pretty banged up on offense at QB and both WR’s and still have a subpar OL. I’m not scared of Cincinnati. It probably would be a shootout type of game but there’s a reason that team has lost 8 games this season. Denver’s defense is pretty good and you know that Sean Payton is going to do everything to punish the Bills defense in the run game like other good OC’s before him. Nix is a bit of a wildcard. It seems that Payton is trying to calling easy button plays to minimize potential mistakes, but then he’ll make those money long TD throws downfield. Not sure what to make of him yet, as I do feel a part of his success is due to Payton, but he has some really nice looking plays this season

Bengals, Dolphins, Broncos -Who do you want to see as the 7th seed?

If you watched DTR you would know why. He is atrocious. Everyone is reporting that they are resting their starters though nothing official from the team. -
No doubt that Tyrod was a great guy who worked hard in Buffalo. So I definitely appreciate Bills fans giving him a nice ovation. But I feel that the whole drought-ender talk from Bills fans is a little exaggerated. Yes he was the QB on the 2017 and he was very efficient and smart with the football. But that team was all about running the football with Shady and playing good defense.
