Do you want to meet Brady in Super Bowl?
JohnNord replied to Artem Lipatov's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In a way I kind of do. If the Bills are lucky enough to to make it to the Super Bowl, conquering the QB who has been nearly unbeatable over the past 2 years would be perfect. On the other hand that Tampa Bay team is LOADED with talent. I don’t think they are playing anywhere as good as they can. Either way...we’re a long way from the Super Bowl. I just hope the Bills get past Indy first -
Not at all.... he probably has the least charisma of any coach in the NFL. He’d be a terrible studio host. It won’t happen and he likely has no interest Football is his life. He started studying plays with his father about 6 decades ago and has been involved coaching for most of his adult life. I can’t see him leaving for another team. What I am almost certain will happen, is that he coaches for a year or two and then retires so one of his sons can take over. IMO I think he’s hoping to one have one last run on his own and then to retire on top with his sons carrying on his legacy. Unfortunately he won’t have Tom Brady

Does the bills success continue without daboll?
JohnNord replied to Steptide's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If this was 2019, I would be concerned because it seemed like Daboll consistently found a way to get WR’s open. This year, I think Josh has taken some pretty big steps on his own. I don’t see Josh’s improvement as only being a bi-product of Daboll’s offense in the way that Sean McVay was responsible for improving Jared Goff. I think Josh took a lot of those steps on his own. With that being said, I’m not sure if we’ll see Josh duplicate the numbers this season in 2021. But I also don’t see major regression either. As far as OC, it will be an interesting choice. You have internal candidates like Ken Dorsey or Chad Hall who probably would be good. But McDermott might also get a lot of interest from coaches that want a chance to work with Allen, Diggs, Beasley, etc... -

I think he works at Tops -
YES! I thought about this last week when the 2004 game versus Pittsburgh’s B-Team resurfaced. Where was the 7th wildcard spot then? Or in 2014 when the defense was on a roll?

Reporters in Miami actually said the same thing about not having the “it” factor.
-
If you ask Miami fans, Chan is refusing to call plays to Tua’s stengths
-
The difference is the readiness of the QB’s. Allen was an inexperienced project QB from a small college football program who never faced top-notch competition. Tua comes from the biggest college football program in the world and was thought of to be “pro ready.” The ceiling for Tua is nowhere near as high as Josh’s was. Bad comparison

For the first time ever as a Bills fan in January, I'm not even thinking about the offseason

Yeah I think he definitely will get better. I don't think he'll ever be the kind of QB Miami fans expect -

Everyone one thinks their struggling QB will break out like Josh Allen -
What if the Bills hired Frank Reich instead of Rex?
JohnNord replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I like these questions and feel it’s an interesting idea. IMO I’m not sure whether Reich was really ready to be a HC in 2015. He had one year experience as an OC in San Diego under Mike McCoy who likely had a big say in the offense/playcalling. That team finished 9-7. I think Reich learned a lot about being a HC from working Doug Pederson in Philly. So the Reich you got in 2015 was probably different from the one Indy hired in 2018. Still it’s hard to say because of the QB position. We have no idea what Reich/Whaley would do at QB. I’m guessing they probably don’t bring in Tyrod who Rex advocated for. Does Reich try to resurrect EJ Manuel, roll with Matt Cassell, or try to sign or draft another QB? If it’s the former, I see Reich lasting about as long as Rex did. Also we have no clue who would be the QB under the Reich-led Bills -
Bills will be working out QB Chad Kelly
JohnNord replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Tim Graham Is very close to the Kelly family. I’m not 100% certain but pretty sure that he said Elway took a flier on drafting Chad with the last pick in the draft as a favor to Jim Kelly. Of course he ends up getting arrested and released after working his way up to QB2. I thought that Graham said the Bills were discouraged from brining Chad to the Bills because he needed to be away from Buffalo where he often found himself in trouble -
Report: SF to move on from Jimmy G
JohnNord replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Also after seeing him in SF, would NE even want him? Or would they try to find a better option at QB for the future? Normally I wouldn’t be surprised to see him brought it as a stop-gap while they figure out the QB position, but his contract will make it harder -

I never understood the appeal of a Frank Zappa. Terrible music. I guess you have to do a bunch of psychedelic drugs to enjoy. -

JohnNord replied to Sundancer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I will say it’s kind of a catchy song and probably helps market the team to younger audience. So in that respect it’s good. -
He wasn’t a terrible coach and was easily the best coach of The Drought (not saying much). I’d say he was pretty mediocre. The biggest thing that continues to plague his success is his conservative nature. We saw this in Buffalo when he elected to punt close to FG range. You can argue he cost JAX a super bowl appearance
-
Same with me, but I was on the fence about Marrone. There was a narrative in the media that his game management and conservative nature was killing the team. Looking back it’s hard to dispute that. Still a winning record at 9-7, even though it meant losing to a 2-12 Raider team that killed their chance at the playoffs, seemed like a huge accomplishment. I thought we had traded up when they hired Rex a few days later🙄🙄🙄

Makes sense. I don’t really listen to rap and only know of the artists who crossed over. I did see that Benny was a guest on One Bills Live a few weeks back but had no idea who he was. I agree with this take.
