Is this the greatest Bills weekend in last 25 years?
JohnNord replied to Rigotz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Correct but if Pittsburgh loses and Cleveland beats the Jets both teams go into the game at 11-4. That means the division winner will be 12-4 as well. So in a 3 way tiebreaker, the Bills would win. -

No that isn’t true in most cases. You only need the Titans to lose if the Jets defeat the Browns next week. Cleveland plays Pittsburgh in Week 17, and with a loss to Indy, both will be 11-4. Division winner will finish 12-4. That means with a win at NE, the worst Buffalo could finish is 12-4. The best Tennessee and Cleveland/Pittsburgh will finish is 12-4. Bills win a 3 way tiebreaker over any of those teams. If Bills handle their business in Foxboro Indy beats Pittsburgh Cleveland beats the Jets Bills are locked in at #2 in week 16 -

Yep but the only thing is whoever the Bills play will not be easy. Baltimore, Cleveland, Tennessee, Indy are all tough opponents. Even Miami’s defense could get a few turnovers to win. So while Baltimore looks tough, so does just about every matchup in the AFC. Also I can’t see Pittsburgh losing 4 in a row..::but we’ll see -

The 2nd seed puts the Bills in a very precarious position. They likely need to win out to keep that position. That means defeating Miami in Week 17, allowing Baltimore to sneak in and take the 7th spot. So by grabbing the 2 seed and beating Miami, you can argue the Bills set themselves up with a tougher opponent than they would have playing the #6 seed in the 3rd seed. But if Indy beats Pittsburgh and the Bills beat NE, then the Bills are locked into the #2 seed in week 16. They can rest starters, let Miami grab #7, and play them again the next week at home -
At this point, the Jets have to trade Darnold and take another QB in the draft. It’s not going to work on NY and both parties just need to move on. Also Douglas is going to want to buy as much time as possible, and one way to do that is to bring a new coach and QB on board. I’m almost certain Darnold is out

Do we know what the cause of death was? No one seems to be reporting that -
The Shout Song needed a Shout Dance...ITS FINALLY HERE!!
JohnNord replied to StHustle's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think maybe 5% of Bills fans could pull off these moves without having a soft issue injury or a heart attack. It’s not really a great dance -
Lower back.... does seem serious

I struggle with seeing race in the Tyrod situation. I noticed that none of the journalists on the beat, even someone like Jerry Sullivan was has proven to be a contrarian and outspoken about social injustice issues, has made this correlation. Bills fans loved Tyrod and hoped he would be THE QB. But it became clear that he was an average game-manager type QB. He also was not in the best situation in Buffalo starting in 2016 with Rex Ryan’s mismanagement and then in 2017 running a Rick Dennison offense that wasn’t suited for him, and featured a poor supporting cast
-
I agree...the perception of some is that the Bills fans ran Tyrod out of town and that he never got a fair shake. I remember during 2019 there were countless comparisons between Allen’s numbers and Taylor’s and questions as to whether they made a lateral move in getting rid of Taylor for Allen. Like I said, if you followed the team under Taylor then you understand the desire to replace him.
-
Just pure speculation on my part, but the fact that they bring up Tyrod Taylor when discussing Allen makes me think their biases are motivated by what they perceive as racism. - Tyrod Taylor benched for Nate Peterman - Tyrod replaced by a raw rookie in Allen who put up worst numbers than Taylor - Josh Allen’s old racially insensitive tweets from 2010 - The portion of Allen defenders who likely may have had racially insensitive things/support very conservative organization on their Twitter profile. Yes they do exist in the Bills fan base and in all fan bases. But I don’t see it as a big a correlation as Foxworth does. Again... I could be wrong but this is my impression.

That’s exactly what he’s doing

It’s getting to the point where Wright is making this a comedy bit. He’s agreed to do a Pinto Ron challenge with Colin Cowherd. Obviously this was orchestrated by FOX, but it’s something fun at least https://twitter.com/theherd/status/1339271481981870084?s=21 Bomani Jones is the dude who fans should direct their hate at
-
I’m sorry....but any time someone brings up Tyrod when evaluating Josh, then you know they are biased and that the argument itself is bigger than his QB play. What does Tyrod Taylor have to do with whether Josh Allen is a good QB? Just like Nick Wright, Bomani’s bias toward Josh is rooted in the decision to replace Tyrod with Nathan Peterman, and then the decision to move on from him. To compound things, Josh did have those decade old tweets come out which was fuel to the fire. Both Wright, Jones and other writers looked at the move on a surface level and assumed it racism. Fans and journalists close to the situation saw the move for what it was - a chance to start a QB that could score more points. In the case of Wright, he’s now looking to troll the fan base like his colleagues Skip Bayless and Colin Cowherd. Bomani looks to be going this route as well, those the insinuations of racism from the fan base tell me his feelings are a bit more authentic

Chris Simms Unbuttoned review of Steelers-Bills

That would’ve been a TD for Hughes too. His point is valid...but you can play the “what if game all day” when reviewing NFL games -
Playbooks staying and leaving with Daboll
JohnNord replied to Kelly the Dog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Technically we could... but given the fact that QB Coach to OC is a pretty big promotion and the fact that most franchises frown on blocking upward mobility, I have a hard time thinking this team would stop Dorsey if he wanted to go -
