Lmao, Tyrod’s gonna start another football game ?
JohnNord replied to Teddy KGB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I never got to that point with Tyrod until the 2017 season, though the loss at Seattle really made me wonder, because while he played well - he wasn’t able to bring them back from behind when it mattered. To his credit, he did lead the Bills to a lead very late in the 4th quarter against a playoff bound Miami Dolphins team and in the process threw for over 300 yards. I thought he had turned the corner that day for the better. -

No - that’s a distinct possibility for sure. But I think that he’s still fast enough to gain some good yardage scrambling. -

I don’t think we’ll see a whole new Tyrod in 2020. He’ll be exactly what he’s been his whole career. We’ll see him make some good plays with his legs, take care of the football, and probably hit a few nice deep passes downfield. If the team can get ahead he’ll do a very good job nursing that lead. I don’t think he’ll be the QB who can bring you back when falling behind or the QB who can lead the team to a TD on the last drive. If anything, we know that Tyrod is a really good person so I’m rooting for him in SD. -
I never thought he was a serious option for Buffalo. The team likes the versatility Singletary and Moss offer as runners. Fournette, while good, is more one-dimensional. That means he’d end up 3rd on the depth chart. For a RB that wouldn’t get many carries, would not contribute on special teams, and would carry a $4M price tag. PLUS a RB who allegedly had locker room issues in the past, the deal just didn’t make sense for a position not of need. I think if you follow the moves Beane makes, you knew this was a deal that probably wasn’t going to happen. Just like you know Clowney to Buffalo will never happen this year No wonder why your screename is “Logic.” This move couldn’t have been summarized any more concise!

As many have pointed out - it seems to be a no-brainer! The problem is many teams know that the Bills are stacked at WR and will likely be releasing the WR’s you mentioned. They really have to like a player to trade a pick (even if it is a 6th or 7th) because they are scared of another team swooping in. Its like buying something at the end of a yard sale, when you know they’ll just put the stuff out on a curb. Also, I don’t think that not having a preseason could hurt the value of some of these players.

Saints possibly open to trading Kamara
JohnNord replied to Greg S's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
From everything I’ve read recently, it seems like a better chance that both sides will get a deal done. Oddly enough, there were a few sites that speculated the Bills could be a candidate for Kamara. While it makes sense on paper, I’m not sure that they would go all-in on a RB position with Singletary and Moss under cheap contracts for multiple years. Also trading Kamara will probably come with signing him to a new deal - which again, I can’t see that happening in Buffalo with Milano, Tre and others looking at new deals soon -
Zach Cunningham signs extension with Houston
JohnNord replied to NewEra's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yep.... never should’ve gotten to the QB with 2 blockers in his path. That play boggles my mind - it never should’ve happened -
You’re not completely wrong. Thad does throw around some snarky comments and Bills criticism on Twitter and yes, it does get annoying.

The timing didn’t make sense. Some speculated that they were doing this as a sign of support to give him confidence.

Missed an opportunity? I don’t remember ever hearing that the Bills were in on Yannick....well other than posts in this forum.

Isn’t Cunningham the dude that made the huge hit on Josh Allen after Mitch Morse and Dawson Knox ran by him. Thinking about that play drives me nuts -
Gruden tears into Nate Peterman [language]
JohnNord replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I will never understand the hatred for Peterman. He wasn’t a good QB. It shouldn’t be a surprise. But the obsession with taking about had badly he sucked is bizarre. Also Gruden basically told him to hurry up at the line. Not the tongue lashing I was expecting -
It’s a mix of personality and on-field results. Fitzpatrick is a smart, quick witted guy who would do silly things like stop shaving during the season. His interviews were always a lot of fun!. Tyrod is a tremendous person but very soft-spoken. He comes off as likeable but not in the same was as Fitz. So personality wise, it’s easier to see how fans would be draw toward Fitzpatrick. In terms of style, Fitzpatrick put the Bills in positions to compete with teams above their level. There were multiple times, he single handedly kept the Bills in the game. He also engineered one of the biggest upsets versus New England, and he essentially became a hero that day. That’s his signature win. Tyrod had his moments but he never really had that one signature victory against a good team ik a shootout. Also what holds Tyrod back is his 2017 season. His risk-averse style of play coupled with a conservative and antiquated offense resulted in some painful football. Also I can’t remember it off the top of my head, but Tyrod’s WL in close games was really terrible

You aren’t completely wrong about fans not making personnel decisions. But I think your memory of Kelly’s performance was not as strong in actuality. I remember Kelly being somewhat Rusty that game. He threw for 177 yards and 2 INT and he struggled to get the team in the end zone (same thing happened the next week in SB27) He hardly “dismantled” them and got a huge boost from Thurman and Kenneth Davis both rushing and receiving and course a great defensive performance. I don’t think it’s inconceivable that Reich could have led the team to victory that day. To be fair the majority of this work was mop up duty with 2nd team players or meaningless games at the end of year.

I think we need to exorcise those demons. Someone from Buffalo needs to buy it and burn it in Hammer’s Lot!!! -

Remember how bad Brian Walters sucked? -
I think they are just kicking the tires here. From what I’ve read Tyrell Dodson has been very impressive and could solidly a role as backup LB. The Bills stuck with him through a domestic abuse arrest, so they have to see something in him.

Bills tabbed to go 15 - 1 by blogger
JohnNord replied to stuvian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A lot of his predictions are terrible. Bills 15-1? That’s a little lofty IMO, but let’s say that happens... he had NE finishing 14-2!!!!! When is the last time a 14-2 team finished in second in their division? ??? -
Rivera always seems like a really good guy. I’m wishing the best for him
