Slowik really didn’t do a great job. Stroud took a sizable step backward - every passing has declined and INT’s have more than doubled. Yes the injuries to his WR’s didn’t help but if you watched that KC game you saw how bad he is it at diagnosing pressure and getting rid of the football. I do think Stroud has a lot of potential but Slowik wasn’t getting the most of it.

Just reminding folks in here….There were numerous people that wanted to fire McDermott for Bobby Slowik last year (you know who you are 🤣) and put him on the same level as Ben Johnson. What a ridiculously overreaction and a horrible move that would have been. Slowik might not even be an OC next season. He was terrible this year. A hot HC candidate at Two Bills Drive!!!!

Say what you will but that community loves their football team

The throw to Kincaid was absolutely there. In fact they tried it again but a well-timed blitz forced a throw away. Sometimes it just takes a play to change the trajectory of the game. I really do think if he makes the catch to move the sticks the drive ends in a TD like the other 2 possessions. I agree with everything you said… in the end the Bills won and that’s all that matters.

I completely disagree about it being “trolling.” Bills fans know exactly how bad it sucks to lose a tough game and the donations are small gesture of kindness to lift up a player or fan base. It’s turning a negative station into a positive one. That’s why you do see donation drives after a win. Things are usually positive. The Mark Andrews situation is no different from what happened with Tyler Bass. After a falling short in a crucial moment, social media is full of toxicity and death threats. Saying that the donations are a passive aggressive way of rubbing it in is far from the truth.

Cowboys closing in on a deal to make Brian Schottenheimer their next HC
JohnNord replied to Gregg's topic in The Stadium Wall
Bro, his winning percentage was .304 in 3 seasons (14-32). This is horrible by any standard. HORRIBLE. Compare that with Dick Jauron who I’m sure you regard as a bad hire. His winning percentage was .430 (24-33). Chan and Jauron weren’t that different. They both built strong units on one side, neglected the other, and ultimately were bad head coaches. Also look at the context. In 2009, Gailey was out of the NFL after getting fired by Kansas City. He was an extremely underwhelming choice as HC. Chan is a likable guy and did a lot with limited parts on offense (though he did have 1st round picks at WR and RB that you failed to mention.). But he was NOT a good HC by any means. -

This reminds of a Drought Era coaching hire. You hear all of these hopeful names tossed around but in the end they hire Dick Jauron or Chan Gailey. -
Why force the pass if it isn’t there? We saw what they led to under Ken Dorsey. It sounded like Baltimore ran a lot of 2 high looks on defense. Believe it or not, I read that the success rate with running the ball in the second half was higher than the first. You don’t have to like the offensive gameplan but I wouldn’t call it conservative
-
I don’t really think it was conservative, they just didn’t execute in the second half. Josh was taking what Baltimore was giving him all game long. Who killed them was a low pass and drop by Kincaid, a poor screen audible to Dawson Knox, and a couple of throwaways. The ball was in Josh’s hands at the end of the game and he didn’t get in the endzone. So I’m not sure where the conservative label comes into play That was part of the issue. To be fair though, Van Noy came across traffic and made the tackle. It was a good play.

Extremely fair review IMO. The atmosphere and tailgating is very high whereas the stadium is very low.

As if the criteria for MVP wasn’t vague enough, I’d argue Comeback Player is even worse. There’s no way Flacco should have won over Damar last season. This year, I get the feeling it’s going to go to Sam Darnold. Based on the voting, it seems more of a Most Improved Player award It’s going to Sam Darnold

IDK I’m always nervous especially against Kansas City. I have a feeling of dread in the back of my head watching the Mahomes, Kelce, and Andy Reid at Arrowhead celebrating another AFCCG win. I think we have to remember that the post season and regular season are completely unrelated. I read hundreds of cocky tweets last week who felt Baltimore was going to run all over the defense again as they did in Week 4. But everyone should feel confident in this Bills team and I do believe KC is a better matchup on paper than Baltimore was

There isn’t a statute of limitations, but considering that his most significant achievements occurred nearly two decades ago, it’s somewhat absurd to rely on that as evidence. Many coaches experienced a few successful years in the past, but the game has undergone significant changes since then. Regarding Mac Jones in 2021, as I explained in another post, it was widely believed that Belichick was the mastermind behind that physical offense, following the abysmal offense built for Cam Newton in 2020 - which by the way nowhere close to “Top 10.” Therefore, there’s some ambiguity regarding McDaniels’ role in that offense.
-
This is the example where you ca. say McDaniels was a good offensive coordinator by relying on a power running game and putting Jones in good situations. However, I do remember reading the work of Matthew Fairburn (who transferred from BUF to NE beat) and he said Belichick was more hands on with the offense after Brady’s departure. He was the one who signed Jonnu Smith and Hunter Henry in free agency to build a big and physical offense. McDaniels did call the plays but his role as architect of that offense is questionable.
-
Cam Newton!?!?! Lest anyone take this post seriously, New England ranked toward the bottom the league (high 20’s) in offense during the 2020 season. Cam had the worst season of his professional career throwing just 8 TD to 10 INT. This is not McDaniels fault however as Cam was cooked. The Cassell led offense of 2008 did rank around Top 10, but that was almost 20 years ago. That’s like touting Rex Ryan for his defenses in 2009 and 2010. I will say, JMD did a nice job building a run heavy offense which help maximize the potential of Mac Jones. But we all know what happened to that offense down the stretch. Maye has flashed quite a bit as a rookie. McDaniels will have a black slate, so we’ll see what type of offense he will build.

They were much more calm than I was a kid watching this. No tears either!!!

I knew I would love the video from the moment I heard someone say “Super Bowl Sundeee” in that vintage Buffalo accent!

Part 2- Another disaster by McDs defense in the playoffs
JohnNord replied to RoscoeParrish's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think you’re selling Christian Benford very short. He’s about the be paid like a #1 CB and deservingly so. Also the whole “not forcing a punt” narrative is a little misleading considering that they have 3 takeaways. Overall though, I’d agree on the talent. It’s largely average across the board. -

Right - A lot of people who are critical about the defense are really overlooking the overall talent. The defense is what it is - there probably aren’t any players among the Top 10 at their defensive position. Still despite this, they’ve put together two good defensive performances against two of the NFL’s top coaches. Baltimore was a terrible matchup on paper - probably the worst in the AFC for Buffalo. Yet they stood their ground, largely due to coaching and of course execution. The defense is far from a shut down group. They have flaws which are going to be exploited, you just hope they can steal a few possessions for the offense. -
While it’s true there is no set duration of time, theres a lot of positive signs. He was reported to be fine in the locker room after the game. Also I remember last season Taron Johnson (who did have a concussion history) entered the concussion protocol on Monday 1/15 and was cleared by Sunday 1/21. so all in all, I’d be surprised if Benford isn’t starting on Sunday but we’ll see.

Levy was 0-4 in Super Bowls, McDermott cannot go 0-4 vs KC

True… though our good buddy Aaron Rodgers in 0-4 vs. San Fran -
Rob Ryan hired by USC as Defensive Assistant

They want a jovial big man to crack jokes, drink beer, and talk about what a legend his old man was and the the hell he and his twin brother raised in high school -
It’s the identical situation as McDermott… maybe a little worse considering Baltimore was the #1 seed last season. The only difference is that Harbaugh won a championship 13 years ago.
-
Probably not… He was also chilling in the locker room celebrating. I feel that the Bills fan base overreacts to injury reports. We’ll see what happens this week but I’m guessing he’s limited in practice on Wednesday
