  1. Trainwreck Sports are getting a massive pass on this. They should be taken to task for putting out incorrect news. I know that no one cares since they are just a blog site, but that was very irresponsible. They reported that an agreement had been reached…this simply is not the case. It’s ridiculously annoying that people trusted Kevin Massare who clearly has no real sources
  2. Maybe on a couple throws but on the ones the he highlighted wind wasn’t a factor. It was Josh throwing the ball in one spot on the receivers anticipating he’d be throwing it in another.
  3. https://theathletic.com/3067182/2022/01/12/the-bills-win-could-have-been-even-bigger-and-harrison-phillips-steals-the-show-all-22-film-review/?source=user_shared_article According to his breakdown, the passing inefficiency was likely due to Josh and the receivers not being on the same page. Josh saw big plays to be had by Davis and Knox but they just read the routes differently. Had they don’t this, there could have been some big plays. A few other interesting notes to watch for next week: Harrison Phillips was excellent both as a run defense and pass rusher and scored an “A” grade. Ed Oliver had a ridiculous pressure rate of 27% and even lined up at DE for 2 plays and had a sack on 1. This could be a sign of what’s to come. Daboll used Tommy Doyle as a 6th blocker to good success. He’s been a mauler and the offense averaged 6.7 on plays when he essentially lined up at TE. So while they won by 17, it seems like the score could have even been more lopsided if it weren’t for the breakdowns in the passing game. Highest grades Bills: 1. Phillips (A) 2. Diggs (A-) 3. Hughes (A-) 4. Oliver (A-) 5. Allen (A-) Lowest graded Bills: 27. Bates C+ 28. Brown C+ 29. Rosseau C+ 30. Davis C+ 31. Williams C+
  4. Don’t trust Rockpile Report. They often are incorrect. Sal on WGR said he was NOT signed and that the report not accurate.
  5. I’ve sent the fundraiser get a lot of criticism online. I don’t have a problem with it but just hope people don’t take advantage of the Bills fan community. He was asking for $3k and got $9K
  6. Ahhhh….The weekly Jim Kubiak recap. The 3rd down conversions were bad but given then distance, first and second down were problems as well. All in all, that 3rd quarter was just plain ugly. Allen played terrible
  7. I find that reporters who had advocated strongly for better use of analytics on 4th down are the ones firmly supporting Staley and making excuses for him. To me, he’s right on a lot of his decisions but he’s also cost his team a few games this season including Week 18. To make matters worse, he’s been bailed out by Justin Herbert’s incredible play. If he didn’t have that, it would be way worse but…perhaps that’s why he takes the risks he does
  8. Its going to be really hard because of their limitations on offense. They can’t really run the ball and Ben pushing the ball downfield looks downright painful. Plus their WR’s are talented but seem to drop a lot of passes. If they are able to play the way they played the Bills in Week 1 then they have a chance. They’ll need to force 3 turnovers and convert into touchdowns. But I don’t see them belong able to keep KC around 20 points. I also think it’s a challenge for Pittsburgh to score 20 points. Either Najee Harris has a career game or Ben just have to heave up passes and hope that his WR’s can make the circus catches they did in Buffalo.
  9. So can we talk how this blog basically posted speculation as fact? For some reason, no one wants to call out Train Wreck Sports but they have disputed the signing report in a nice way. I was suspicious from the start. Check out how they qualify their claim: “Barring a physical/Covid snag, Lawson will rejoining the Bills at some point in the future.” You don’t see journalists report vague information like this if they have legit sources. My guess is that whoever wrote this article made the jump from discussion between the Bills and Shaq. It still might happen, but again, I think this is simply speculation that they jumped the gun to be the first to “break” news. Here’s how the Buffalo media (who acknowledges bloggers) reacted. They have basically refuted their report in a nice way:
  10. I know what you mean but there was no guarantee that Mitch would see action. The Bills wanted to sign him as an insurance policy and still might need him if worst comes to worst. Also not sure how much he anticipated playing. There have been many dominate offenses and we’ve rarely seen the backup QB get substantive reps.
  11. A lot of great WR talent. The class lived up to its hype. Before the horrific accident Ruggs has having a pretty good year. I don’t think we’ve heard the last of Jeudy either. I’m really high on CeeDee Lamb as well. Gave stacks up well to them and I’m expecting big things from him next year as he should be the unchallenged WR2
  12. Thanks for clarifying. Probably thinking about the recent trade rumors
  13. You might be right. Ironically last year Tim Graham interviewed Buddy Nix who told him “we were THIS close to drafting Russell Wilson,” even though he doesn’t seem like the traditional type of QB Buddy coveted.
  14. I’d like to see McKenzie Re-signed. I think he has a lot of potential as an offensive weapon
  15. There was some of that, for sure. But I think his overall message that football or leadership is a “people business” made a lot of sense.
  16. Ever since Josh appeared on the podcast last Spring I’ve been listening to 10 Questions with Kyle Brandt. He had on Dan Patrick in his recent episode who talked about breaking news. Patrick claimed that he had on good authority that Seattle tried to trade Russell Wilson to Chicago because they wanted to draft Josh Allen in the 2018 NFL draft. He said he didn’t break the news because he went with the info that Baker Mayfield was going to be the #1 pick. This is interesting and I trust DP but I don’t know…on one hand, Chicago had the #8 pick that year. The Bills did want to trade up for Allen, initially higher than 7, so there must have been some competition. There were also Russ to Chicago rumors this past Spring as well. On the other hand, Trubisky was coming off of his best season with Chicago. They surely couldn’t have invited turning the page already after trading up for him the season before? It’s an scenario that I’m not 100% sure if but it really would be interesting if too, and also show that there was more competition to trade up for Josh behind-the-scenes. The topic starts are 64:00
  17. This is a great video from Falcons DC Dean Pees in regards to the recent movement of hiring the young analytics-based, fairly inexperienced HC’s in the NFL. Yes, there’s a bit of “back in my day” in this rant but the overall message is spot on…you need to your dues to be an effective leaders. It is funny because analytics Twitter has been up in arms trying to misrepresent what he said. Call me crazy - but I like this guy:
  18. He was always a bad choice for GM. He proved that he couldn’t rebuild Carolina and has no business trying to rebuild NYG. I think he was hired because he’s a native NY’er.
  19. I think this is completely true. The Bills best themselves (Pittsburgh, Jacksonville) and lost 3 games by 1 score (Tennessee, NE, and TB) They probably should have 13 to 14 wins. But they made it into the playoffs and given the weather at home, it makes you wonder if the Bills are better off playing in the road in the postseason
  20. Miami tried pretty hard to give Marino good targets. He had everyone from Keith Byars, to Keith Jackson, Irving Fryar, OJ McDuffie, etc. He just could never get over the hump
  21. Oh yeah…. can really from that practice footage that he’s back to 100%🙄
  22. It was a good team from what I can remember, but wasn’t that the game where Bruce Smith sat out a playoff game in Pittsburgh with the flu? Bills didn’t play well but it’s a different game if he suits up
  23. Sorry Message board monitor
  24. If you watched the first few series, they moved the ball really well until that INT. That kind of flipped the game. At worst Buffalo goes up 17-2. At best in 21-2. The second INT was just a miscommunication at an in opportune time. Also a great play by Terrell. The third was bad luck off a tipped pass. One thing Atlanta did well was take away Dawson Knox. It seemed to throw the offense off a little. I think if they needed to, the Bills could have passed the ball. They just saw an opportunity in the run game and took advantage. That’s why I don’t believe this was truly Josh’s worst outing despite his bad numbers
