  1. Really, it goes back to the Bengals divisional loss when it became clear that Gabe Davis wasn’t a good enough WR2. We knew at the end of 2022 that the Bills needed a fast WR that could get separation. Beane decided not to upgrade, believing that Davis’ insistency was due to unity. Instead of drafting speed and separation at WR, he chose Dalton Kincaid believing he could be a big Cole Beasley “weapon.” After trading Diggs, their biggest need was a WR with speed and separation. They drafted the slowest WR with the least separation. Now what’s one of the biggest needs on the team? A WR with speed and separation. I’m hoping Brady realizes this and persuades Beane to finally draft at least one WR type that we need.
  2. I hate the DL rotation but I think you’re starting to see that wane given how much Oliver and Rosseau were playing last season. The problem is they just continually miss at finding those “dawgs” so it’s back to cheap veterans and draft picks who never develop. It helps when the receivers like Diggs or Kincaid actually make catches when you need them to
  3. More context. The Eagles WHIFFED badly by selecting Jalen Raeger over Justin Jefferson. Roseman knew he f’ed up so he took a big swing and landed AJ Brown. This is what Buffalo needs to do at Edge. Roseman took big swings and didn’t miss.
  4. Yeah… that’s not going to happen. It would take a failure to make the playoffs for his seat to be warm. I’m certain Terry is going to let Beane and McDermott finish out their contract as long as they keep winning
  5. Ownership isn’t as reactive as the fans here. They will get a few more seasons
  6. I think that Buffalo knows they have to improve the WR talent. I was very annoyed they didn’t do most in the draft last season.
  7. Tonight’s game was all about the Philly roster. Almost every starter on defense was a Howie Roseman draft pick. There were 2 DT’s selected in consecutive years and two rookie CB’s both who had strong games. The best player on the field was Josh Sweat - a former 4th round draft pick. Meanwhile, in the same time Buffalo drafted high round busts like Kaiir Elam and Boogie Basham who were frequent healthy scratches, average talent like AJ Epinesa, and a good but not great pass rusher in Greg Rosseau. Then you have rotational players like AJ Epinesa, DeWayne Carter, and Javon Solomon. The difference between the Buffalo and Philly defense was getting much better return on the draft capital spent on defense.
  8. I noticed. It happened it a couple of time and one of his punts led to a decent return due to lack of hang time. I’m not really sure a punt inside the 10 versus a touchback makes much difference tonight.
  9. That is their plan. I am sure internally Buffalo was realistic about where their roster was, which is why Beane publicly called it a reset year. He was tempering expectations compared to the past few years. Despite the reset, they finished better than the years where the team was a preseason contender. As a result, most of the positions are locked up and a good portion of the roster will return. Beane and McDermott know that this is kind of their second window. I expect them to try to add some talent over the next two offseasons. So their future depends on what happens after
  10. Unfortunately this was a smart move by the Jets. Aaron Glenn knows the deal with Rodgers and he wasn’t going to let him mess with the locker room. Pittsburgh might be the only decent landing spot for Rodgers. They are tanking…it very well could be Tyrod Taylor
  11. come on man. Special Teams haven’t been a very great unit for 2 seasons. Look at the miscues over the past 2 months of the season: - 9 men on the field for a punt block vs LAR - Fake punt conversion versus DEN - long punt return versus KC That’s just what I can think of off the top of my head. It doesn’t take into account Bass’s kicking issues or the numerous screw ups last season. This is a good move
  12. He wasn’t a sacrificial lamb… just bad at his job for 2 years straight.
  13. This was decades before I was born
  14. If you’re the Jets, why would you trade Williams to a divisional rival?
  15. Just the Chiefs on the money line because you know how the game is going to go down: Eagles jump out a lead KC battles back Backbreaking mistake by Hurts Mahomes drives downfield for the winning score to Xavier Worthy Cue the red and yellow graffiti while we’re treated to shots of a smiling Mahomes, Andy Reid shouting “how bout those Chiefs,” and of course awkward affection between Travis and Taylor. All the while, moron analysts will shame fans by saying “you should respect greatness!” I should get the Pepto ready now…ugh 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮
  16. Not really. There’s turnover with every coaching staff each season. My point is McDermott is willing to make changes with units that underperform. It’s a far cry from what we’ve previously had in Buffalo. I’m not 100% sure about that, and have seen mixed reports about his departure. Some have said Buffalo was planning to keep him as DC and Frazier made the call to leave. If they were going to fire him, it would have happened now instead of in April. Maybe McDermott told him he was taking over play calling duties? The timing of Frazier’s departure always has been weird.
  17. I would be curious to know what they disagree on considering they have a long history. Smiley is one McDermott’s original coaches from 2017. There’s only a handful left (Skipper, Boras, Babich etc)
  18. I was really surprised to hear McDermott commit to Smiley at the press conference. Say what you will about him, but McDermott usually makes good decisions about his staff. When there’s a unit that struggles badly, he almost always moves on from that assistant. 2017 - Rick Dennison 2018 - Danny Crossman/Juan Castillo 2021 - Bobby Johnson 2023 - Ken Dorsey
  19. I think Buffalo needs speed and separation, while Deebo offers some of that, I don’t think he’s a great fit in the offense. Unless they’d take a 5th or 6th round pick, I’ll pass. He was really bad last season.
  20. I agree. He was drafted to run Ken Dorsey’s pipe dream of 12 personnel but I don’t really think he’s a great fit for Brady’s offense. His blocking is a huge problem, as he has been a liability when called upon. It’s not just blocking as a TE in line, he also struggles when split out wide. There was a screen against KC last week where Cooper got tackled because Kincaid was rocked by a DB. As a WR Mack Hollins has been a more reliable blocker out wide and even as a TE. Aside from this, he doesn’t really do a ton with the ball in his hands and he has not been the “sure handed” player he was touted as. I don’t have a ton of faith in Kincaid breaking out in year 3 like other fans do. I think we’ve seen the type of player he is. I think we’ll see another 40 catch season with about 9-10 yards reception. That’s fine but the return is a far cry for what they traded to get him.
  21. I agree with you. Better talent would make a huge difference
  22. …and I was told McDermott would never hire assistants with a different philosophy. Nielsen ran a ton of man defense in Jacksonville. IIRC, he was so stubborn he refused to change his approach versus Josh Week 3 and got torched. I’d bet anything these still run zone but this is going to give them more flexibility depending on the opponent - almost like KC’s defense. It’s a strong indication Rasul Douglas is not coming back IMO
