According to Greg from Cover 1, the Bills can get McCaffrey for relatively cheap, but I don’t see the Bills making the move:
-
It seems like trade deadline is a huge topic here ever year and every year no move is ever made. I don’t expect that to change this year. The Giants have a shot at a wild card spot and they aren’t trading Barkley. Carolina won’t give away McCaffrey for cheap and I don’t get the impression Beane wants to trade away a high pick for him. In the end, I don’t see any moves being made
-
Yeah… I mean it’s hard to tell because while he has played well, he was pressed into playing due to injury. But once the WR crew returns closer to full health, his role will be telling
-
Yeah that’s a good point. The other thing to consider though, is that Josiah Anderson, who is close with OBJ, seemed to indicate that he is interested in coming back to NYG. She also refuted claims that it wasn’t more than a recruiting visit, though I still don’t believe it was officially reported as a FA visit. If the Giants can somehow split with Dalls/Philly, I think they have a shot at the WC, and given their meh WR crew, the move to NJ might make sense

I can’t quite figure out whether OBJ rumors are legit. If the Bills sign him, he’s going to likely bump Shakir or Crowder (once he returns) off the roster. If you were going to add to a position group on the roster, you otherwise wouldn’t add to WR. Im not sure if OBJ is as big of a priority as Von Miller makes you believe but I guess we’ll see. He’ll be on IR all season long

Is the next evolution as starting MLB?

I do wonder what effect the wind had on the passing game. The end zone throw to Diggs looked like the ball sailed on him. The end zone INT looked like he just didn’t get the ball high end for Davis to have a chance.

It seemed to me from the start Romo had a strong feeling that the game was going to be one-sided - which is usually on brand for him. He makes jokes in these games, when the outcome is decided but there’s still a long portion to go. After the Morris fumble he joked “well, these are how big comebacks start… 😂

I do agree about the current Bills team. But I think part of the reason for the difference is that 30 years ago there was noaccountability and players could be jerks in public. In 2022, with social media/internet/cameras everywhere you can’t get away with what you used to. Plus our society is way more litigious. Because of pressure from social media, players are at risk of losing sponsorships and other financial deals. The NFL and player agents have been much more proactive in training players how to cultivate a positive public persona. So in many cases players have been trained with how to handle themselves in public situations that won’t bring them bad press.

Turning Point: Breaking down the Poyer endzone INT
JohnNord replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
Not having Poyer available on Sunday is going to hurt the Bills just like it against Miami -
I agree…many of us weren’t professional athletes but still were immature in our younger years and would probably struggle with being a professional athlete in our 20’s. It was likely even harder decades ago before so much training and dialogue was available through sports agency. I just have an issue with people characterizing and making judgements on Kelly by his actions 30-40 years ago. I also don’t care for people trying to bash him with discreet statement without providing details or context.

NFLPA initiating investigation into Tua’s concussion protocol
JohnNord replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yes but the Miami fans won’t admit it -
I waited for Bruce’s autograph at the mall - probably back in 1992. The line spanned the entire length of the mall - from one end to another. It was incredible. Unfortunately, Bruce was hired to sign from like 6-8 PM or something and it was going to be impossible to accommodate everyone. At one point probably right at 8:00, Bruce simply got up and walked away with his entourage. But unlike the parents who took to Twitter complaining about autographs at Training camp, we weren’t that disappointed and thought it was cool we got a chance to see Bruce up close as he walked away

I wouldn’t be surprised… to be fair, back in the 80’s and 90’s athletes and entertainers could get away with being a ***** person and were often enabled. Jim has been fairly open about his issues in the past. I’d also agree that Jim has changed over the years, yet people want to drag ***** up from 30-40 years ago to disparage him. I see it a lot on Twitter and IMO a big part of it has to do with his political views. Ok…why?

Yes, I’ve met several at event, training camp at Fisher, and autograph shows but also a few random public encounters. Back in the day I ran into Gabe Northern at Eastern Hills Mall. He was freaking huge and stood out like a sore thumb. He also had a pretty nice looking leather jacket. I immediately recognized him and he chatted for a few minutes. Very cool guy that didn’t seem to be bothered that he was recognized. I also got to talk to Dick Jauron at a special Training Camp VIP reception at Fisher. I was not happy with him as coach at the time but he couldn’t have been a nicer and more personable guy. After leaving the event that day I remember feeling pretty good about the direction of the Bills….little did I know!

If NE truly believes Mac is their franchise QB why would they rush him back on the field as opposed to allowing him to heal? To salvage a few wins which might not mean anything at the end of the season? I think Belichick might be feeling the pressure from Kraft
