  1. I think this is completely correct. It’s kind of bizarre too because initially he dropped like 25 pounds after the concussion season and played the entire year. Then he showed up to camp significantly heavier to “absorb contact.” It just seemed like a recipe for disaster. I think part of what the Dolphins offense so scary was threat of Hill and Waddle to take it to the house. Plus Tua was very good at throwing with anticipation to fast receivers who could track the passes. Last season, Miami seemed content to check down or Jonnu Smith or Achane. It moved the sticks but it also removed the hardest element of the offense to stop.
  2. Does this give them a change to re-sign him with the Bills offer 1-year $4M?
  3. It was a decisive “W” Beane I thought. Joe and Jeremy didn’t know what to do. After those two complained about WR all morning, he hit them in the mouth and they never recovered. Some fans might listen to the clip and think he came off as defensive. But you know who will love that? His players, coaches ans people in the organization. Especially the WR’s on the roster
  4. I felt he was trying to go to bat for Kincaid and Coleman who were his first player selected in consecutive years, as well as his free agent signing in Palmer and Samuel. So in his mind, he’s already addressed the WR position. If you believe in those players, the way that Beane apparently does, his argument makes sense. Why would he spent a high pick on a WR that’s going to be the 4th or 5th receiving option, when there are other areas of need and better value? Of course, if Kincaid, Coleman, and Samuel have the same kind of season as last year, this argument falls apart and fans are completely justified. So a lot is riding on Coleman, Kincaid, Samuel and even Palmer.
  5. Beane and McDermott are coached by Derek Boyko and typically are measured with their words. There haven’t been too many “Whaley moments” in the press. I wouldn’t be shocked if he was sending a message in the media to the maligned WR’s to motivate them.
  6. This was hilarious. The best part is that WGR added video via YouTube so you can see how taken back Jeremy and Joe were. They didn’t know how respond as Jeremy babbled and talked in circles while Joe was frozen and silent. Beane sounds very defensive not only for the discussion this morning on the air but he fielded a bunch of WR questions at the draft press conferences this weekend. He came out swinging on air which was great. But I think you can be very much skeptical of the WR position on Buffalo so I don’t think their complaints were unfair. Beane seems to think the answers are on the roster where many fans don’t have faith in Samuel, Kincaid and Coleman and aren’t overly impressed by Palmer. In the end, which side will be right? We’ll find out
  7. That’s what you have to hope for. He probably doesn’t see the field much - if at all - as a rookie. You have to hope that Bill Terrlinck can get the most out of this guy. There’s a lot of technique he needs to work on to play 1T
  8. He looks almost like a chubby basketball player. I think this pick is a huge long shot to succeed, which is too bad because there were several decent WR prospects on the board when he was selected. Everything I’ve read says he’s a 6’7 320 pound DT that doesn’t play like one. He doesn’t have the power in his lower body and relies a lot on finesse. This will be a major multi-year project for Buffalo
  9. I’m not sure that the prank call was the Ulbrich kid. I think he gave those students the number. As far as the apology, it came after the NFL already put out their statement naming him as the leak.
  10. Overall I liked the draft. I just wanted a new WR for Josh and not in the 7th round. I’m not banking on the internal improvement of Kincaid, Coleman or Carter
  11. Epinesa trade is a possibility, but they also don’t want to have to play Bosa a ton of snaps early on. Im telling you, I don’t think Carter is safe on the roster. Especially once Ogunjobi returns
  12. I would have preferred Farmer. Seems like Walker is a bit of a project with some very good physical intangibles. One thing is certain - DeWayne Carter’s role is very much in question.
  13. I get that - but he was still cleared. You’d expect him to be a little less effective coming off the injury but not to the point that he was the worst player on defense as Carter had been by many accounts. Any time your 3rd round pick is a healthy scratch late in the season, behind street free agents signed mid year, it usually doesn’t bode well.
  14. It’s not that you expect him to dominate but it isn’t a stretch to think he can contribute. Carter was bad late last season that they made him a healthy scratch. If Carter had a better season at 3T, I don’t think they sign Ogunjobi and they many don’t draft Sanders. Like I said, the fact that they are putting Carter at 1T - a position he’s not as effective at - is telling.
  15. I don’t like the Sanders pick only because it all but confirms that DeWayne Carter doesn’t have much of a future, You don’t draft a primarily 3-tech DT like Sanders if you believe in Carter. Sanders is everything we thought Carter was - a penetrating DT that can give you a pass rush while having the flexibility to play 1-tech if needed. Now Beane is saying Carter will be used as primarily the backup 1-tech? Ok… so you’re putting Carter at the position where he’s been the least effective and making that his primary spot? This move doesn’t really make sense, unless you’re going to completely write off Carter as a bust. No he was rotating at 3T. When he came back he played some 1T and he stunk
  16. He didn’t sound disappointed to me. I would agree with this. It seems like Beane and the FO is all about value and the drop off at CB after the first round or so is steep. There is much more depth at DT, especially considering players like Williams will essentially be a 2 down DT. I don’t agree. The draft at DL was said to be a lot deeper than at CB where there’s a step decline past the fire fee prospect. No guarantee the one they’d be comfortable drafting would be available at 56
  17. That source was Brandon Beane 😀 Yeah but Beane always says that. He also says every first round pick was “their guy,” including Elam
  18. Mike Evans will be gone in 1-2 years.
  19. The local media downplaying Grant to the Bills have said that he’s a 2-down tackle that doesn’t give you much as a pass rusher.
  20. This would be epic
  21. I like this move but with the cap and Tre coming back, I think it’s more likely they draft a CB in R1 or R2.
  22. The source has been revealed as Dunkirk Don
  23. Call your shot then… what do you think they’ll do? I think they’d trade trade out of round 1 to swap 2nd rounds (higher spot) and get back the pick for Cooper
  24. I totally get what you are saying. But if you listened to Beane’s pre-draft press conference he said that what attracted them most to DeWayne Carter was his versatility inside. He blamed the wrist injury for his Boogie Basham-like rookie season and feels he can still be your 1TDT - even though he sucked there last season. So I can see a scenario where the Bills rationalize a pick like Harmon believing that DaQuan can hold down the fort for the final season and that Carter can step in at 1TDT if Harmon can’t get it done as a rookie. Don’t like this scenario but I can see it playing out
