  2. 21 % of HC since the Rooney Rule began are have been minorities. So that’s interesting.
  3. Sure he could have. Or it could gone as reported that he agreed to Tua. For sure it’s been documented that he soured pretty quickly on him. Tua does not come out of this looking good at all.
  4. The point was he was part of the decision to take Tua and not Herbert. He was onboard with that.
  5. Why are they going to fork out $? Because a black coach was fired for an under .500 record. Nagy had a similar record and a playoff appearance. Black coaches are getting jobs. But just like white coaches if they don’t win, they get fired. Multiple GM’s are black and so more coaches will get hired. But are these current GM’s who are black also racist for not hiring a black coach?

  7. But being forced to hire candidates based on race is good right ?
  8. Well he picked Tua over Herbert so that didn’t help .
  9. I agree on your McDermott point but will agree to respectfully disagree on Flores. I think his lack of people skills was exposed and he would have gained a great perspective as DC for a bit and then back to HC. Like JM getting the Raiders gig. A little more time to become a better leader the next time.
  10. It has been documented that Flores agreed to Tua over Herbert. Then soured on him because he’s not very good and prefers golfing on days he could be working on his game.
  11. That’s all true except he could not get along with his GM. Or keep offensive coordinators or develop his QB of choice Tua. D Culley got screwed, Flores not so much.
  12. Yes a very respected DC at age 40. Who clearly would have gotten another chance fairly soon.
  13. More qualified based on his 24-25 record and inability to develop a competitive offense? In a league being dominated by offensive play. A coach who agreed with the front office that Tua was a better option than Herbert. Who was given a chance by the Dolphins owner and black GM Grier. The Giants have stated he was in serious consideration. They chose instead an OC that was highly sought after. Who built an offensive and developed a QB who crushed the more qualified Flores. More proven ? Leftwich has demanded he bring in his own GM with the Jags. His colleague who happens to be black. Smart move but similar to JS & BD they have a great relationship. Isn’t that just smart all around. No matter ethnicity?
  14. What ? I’m happy. You apparently don’t like the facts of the situation.
  15. Are you serious? Because Flores was a finalist with a 24-25 record. And an inability to work with coaches or players to create a decent O in a league dominated by O. And he hires a by all accounts highly thought of OC who developed a young QB. Yeah he’s in deep trouble..
  16. I don’t either we’re erased. They made decisions that were reacted to. 70% of the NFL is black. It’s not a plantation. It’s not perfect but this will only harm the NFL ( made up of 70% black players)… seems Flores is pissed because he didn’t get hired this cycle. So he’s taking down the one owner who gave him a shot. By the way I don’t think Ross is a great guy by any stretch.
  17. Wow what a powerful statement …
  18. Right so he’s got the Dolphins for potential tampering and competitive tanking. Giants and Broncos he has nothing so the racism issue is not happening. Since in fact Miami hired him in the first place. Perhaps his personality and poor O had a lot to do with not getting a job this cycle. At 40 with his career ahead of him. Fair would have him get the Giants job is that your point?
  19. I agree on JM and also on Culley. Tomlin was position coach as was Judge for example. I think JM getting an interview is a joke. But with Rooney likely guys getting interviewed who may not be ready would impact that. I think Tomlin and others like Frazier and Bowles earned the right. Other may not have so just let the process take care of itself.
  20. Because Flores is all about integrity and ethics
  21. They interview minority candidates who get a shot. At 37 I think Flores got his shot pretty early. So Miami actually was open minded probably on the high recommendation from Hoody. Who he just stabbed in the back. The more black coaches who get into coaching will get more opportunities. It takes time to build the bench strength but many black coaches are up and coming. But no one is owed anything.
  22. Seems the Dolphins issue is about ethics and character. If he was so principled he should have quit at that time. But that part of the suit has ethical merit. With respect to the Giants and Broncos he was a 24-25 HC at the age of 40. Each of the OC’s have high value based on strong performance of offenses and QB’s- a huge trend in the NFL. Conversely he has struggled on that side of the ball. First in agreeing to select Tua over Herbert. Not being able to develop his agreed upon QB, and an inability to find the right OC to build continuity. By backstabbing Belli it doesn’t prove anything. Other black coaches had been interviewed.
  23. So Levi is to blame? Yikes that’s a big assumption. If McDermy is so detail oriented Levi’s task should have been communicated. We also rushed 4 needlessly and didn’t bump or double hill or Kelce. So the Levi did it is hard to land on for me.
  24. Exactly they focus on spite with the opportunity to go the the SB. Perhaps it was the smart football decision. I get your point because it’s painful based on Bills poor decision.
  25. He worked with DaBoll. All the other OC candidates are likely linked to other teams for the same reason. I would have zero concerns about his ability to call plays. JA is more knowledgeable now and can help that transition significantly.
