  1. Different teams and approaches. I need to have specifics of all the rookie starters on KC and SF. Then we can see how poorly the Bills are doing. Seems we have multiple drafted players recently contributing. And a few others not. I can list them but I think we all know who they are. KC has done well in player evaluation for sure. As well as having perhaps the best HC in NFL history outside BB and Lombardi 🤷🏻‍♂️
  2. That’s a good value for a vet back up S who very easily can impact the team in the next 11 games.
  3. So your point is if after 6 games the 60th player in the draft isn’t playing it’s a disaster? Gotta disagree. The Bills as noted by multiple positions play who currently gives them the best chance to win. They might be vets, FA, drafted, undrafted they don’t care. Bishop will play in the future and likely will be better than both but not right now. He’s got 4 years on a low contract and will be an asset.
  4. Ok well I’m not a hard core evaluator like yourself. But for what it’s worth PFF had he and Rapp rated as top 5 D players against the Jets. Does he have coverage concerns? Yes, but he is doing a decent job in the role.
  5. That’s possible but he is the back up for Hamlin. A guy who has been in the Bills system for a few years. I think he may not offer as much on ST so he doesn’t suit up. I would think he would do a reasonable job if called upon.
  6. Ok well that’s the niners. This is the Bills and they operate differently. I am actually pleasantly surprised with Hamlin but for sure his coverage skills are a concern. As I said ultimately he will start and it’s certainly possible this year.
  7. I’m not implying that at all. Those are strengths they posses along with experience. Without a doubt Bishop has more upside than either. Right now I make no assumptions that Bishop can’t tackle. I think it’s more processing the game. Also not implying he’s not a smart guy, but I think it takes time.
  8. Super early for that statement. He will be a starter for the Bills in the future imho.
  9. He was injured for the vast majority of training camp. Rapp is an nfl vet and Hamlin knows the system. At DB the Bills are pretty slow to play rookies in particular at the cerebral S spot. He’s the best athlete of the group but as the Texans bomb showed he’s not quite ready. I would fully expect he will back up this year and be in the mix to start next year. While both Rapp and Hamlin lack great coverage skills they are both decent tacklers. Liabilities in coverage at times ? Yes but this is currently who the Bills trust. Edwards also injured in camp is a bit more of a surprise since he’s an experienced guy.
  10. Seems they have been for the most part this year. I’m thinking a new situation and better qb will help that.
  11. Seems the time to bring in FA competition or an undrafted rookie was the off season. I like the practice squad idea even to get another guy to support his thought process.
  12. Got ya and agree. But if Josh hits even one of the two deep balls it could have been a bit different story. Your overall point on his lack of use is fair as he didn’t get a bunch of targets. But he was a late FA at a nominal cost. He may have asked for his outright release or possibly will go back to the practice squad? But likely he’s done as a Bill 🤷🏻‍♂️
  13. Meaning MVS? What pick ? He was 2.2 M against the cap, certainly worth the risk. He didn’t work out, but Josh missed him twice in long passes where he may have scored. One of multiple off season moves. Some work and don’t.
  14. Also at the time of the 5th round he had a $20M contract so that’s a huge factor. Vs now essentially no cost. So that is the reason for the higher cost. Where with Adams the $$$ of the contract the Bills would not offer a 3rd to be burdened with another high $$$ WR contract. Bills get a player they need with no $$$ commitment to the future. Unless they both agree this is a good fit and a contract is offered in the off season. At a time when Diggs is off the books. It’s a great deal for the Bills.
  15. The value of the 3rd is based on his low remaining $$ this and next year. We got a high valuable WR arguably in the range of Adams without the financial baggage. So a 3rd over a 4th is well with it imho!
  16. Agreed AR just said they chose to rush 2. As if that was a bad idea. Why on earth would 50 and 57 be covering the sidelines on on obvious Hail Mary with 0 time outs. And a bad wind for the kicker if they tried a quick out. An absolute horrible decision by SM!!! And yes not executed on the back end by the 5-10 DB’s. It was mentioned how about 13 and 0 along with 24 who can jump out of the gym. These decisions just like 13 seconds demonstrates that SM is not capable of leading this top 6 talent team with arguably the second best qb in the NFL. We are unfortunately going to see this movie again.
  17. Wasn’t Elam supposed to be CB3? I thought he had a decent camp according to all. Not sure what to make of it. And at what point when healthy do Edward’s and Bishop get time at S and how much 🤷🏻‍♂️
  18. For this game I thought they were overall bad but each team benefited. It’s the inconsistency on a couple calls. Quick start and or lining up in the backfield by OT’s. Both Dawkins and the Cards RT push the limit on this. But the most frustrating is the holding on OL calls. Not the obviously FM that cost the Bills 4 points but in general. The Bills have a top 12-15 OL and it seems they get a significantly higher % of OL holding on run plays. Might just be a recency bias but that’s my biggest issue. The KC OL seems to have cart blanche on both of these. Ever since the opener last year when Reid went off about RT Taylor getting called on this.
  19. Well, I would respectfully disagree. The coaches are being fairly critiqued. I think it’s not unreasonable to suggest the Bills could have called TO before the play Josh was rushed on. The very predictable calls on 2nd and 3. Some fairly suggested it had to do with Josh’s hand. That is very possible. But I think it’s not unreasonable to hold SM accountable for all of it because its his team. Having said that the team won and other threads have pointed out some very positive things from the game. This is about the 4th and 3 80% agree that was the right call. But how did we get there after 2nd and 3, that’s all. I would like to see SM better in close game decisions. That’s all 👍
  20. Another poster suggested a time out when Josh seems hurried to beat the clock ⏰.. Josh owns that a bit but so does SM. Heck Andy Reid is so amazing he has his DC call TO’s 😆!!!
  21. You are spot on!! 2nd 3 how about a play action safe roll out quick toss to te/ Josh run? The two calls to run with 10 in box was as if the FG puts the Bills up two scores. A first down essentially seals the game. Meanwhile both the ST and D were not playing exactly lights out. Immediately followed by a kick out of bounds and a short field. And possibly a break or two for the Bills. Certainly can’t say we coached that well. It just reinforces the question about our HC in tight game situations 🤷🏻‍♂️
  22. Rams just got 8 500 level for $105. About 3 1/2 hours from Clovis where I live.
  23. No imho.. Davis is immediately the 2.. but I do think TJ is solid at 3.
  24. It was pointed out that Gore could save $$$ for BB. But I see them as different skill sets.
  25. I think Davis will get far more snaps I agree. But I do think TJ has a role. We shall see. You certainly could be right on the $$$ aspect of roster decisions.
