ESPN+: Top 10 QBs according to league personnel
BornAgainBillsFan replied to DCOrange's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So here's what we know for sure: 1) At least one Jets "insider" was included, and 2) NO ONE from the Bills was. -

I'm so glad they did now!! Who needs a $50,000,000 a year anchor around your neck for a decade??? -

David Njoku requests trade - any interest?
BornAgainBillsFan replied to Doc Brown's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The team is trying to improve their roster. Good team players encourage that, and accept the challenge to their position (and bust their butt to keep it). Bad team players try to bail out, and find an easier situation for themselves. And again, this only applies if that's the reason Njoku wants out. It could be that the Browns disfunctionality hasn't improved under Stephanski. -
Music to my ears!! Let the Patriots Circus begin!

Excuse my ignorance, but how does that work, re the Pats salary cap? Do the incentives get counted against next year's cap?

If he's demanding to be traded because he's afraid of competition at his position, count me all the way out!! Lousy culture fit for the Bills. Let him go infect the Jets. -

A 4th may not be an option, because the Bills gave up their 2021 4th in the Diggs trade. So the Browns would have to wait for the 2022 4th, if they're okay with that. -

Lee Smith has a 3.25 mil cap hit this year. You think the Browns would take Smith for Njoku, straight up???? Seriously, we need to give Knox and Sweeney a 2nd year to prove themselves. Rookies are just learning how to be pros. If they can't show improvement by their 2nd year, all bets are off. And Kroft and Croom need to prove they can stay healthy. -

Good list! Not sure I'd change a thing. -
Every NFL coach and front office have a mental scale in their heads: "Does this guy's talent outweigh the baggage he brings with him?" If the answer is yes, he gets another chance. If it's no, he doesn't. It's that simple. It's why Kaepernick hasn't gotten a sniff since he brought his politics to the sidelines. It probably cut 2-3 years off of what TO and Chad Johnson were capable of. And the list goes on and on. AB had plenty of chances to turn it around. And there's 0 indication that he's evolved from an egocentric, adolescent minded flake. His baggage far outweighs his talent, at this point.

I was thinking the same thing! Leave it up to the Dark Lord to camouflage the cheating penalty story with an even bigger one!!

As a Bills fan, I'm all for this move by NE: 1) The Pats were in cap hell before adding $7.5mil to the mix. They'll have to jettison even more legit talent to fit a broken-down Cam in there. 2) Belichick's head will explode weekly when he sees Cam's "look at me!" press conference wardrobes. Not exactly a fit for "The Patriot Way", huh??

COVID-19 took the heat off Belichek & Kraft
BornAgainBillsFan replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's been over 6 months for Spygate 2, and the Patriots accepted responsibility for it at the time? What is there to investigate???? Both investigations will take as long as it takes for everyone to forget about them. -
Good call, KJ. The Bills are getting some respect, for a change. But Josh continues to be just the opposite. How in the world does Dwayne Haskins get a better grade (67.6) than Josh (64.1)??? Haskins was a deer in the headlights last year!! And Josh is far from a liability to this team. His intangibles are tremendous, and his measurables are improving practically game by game. Does anyone know how PFF gets their ratings? Is it based on real things, or just a wetted finger in the wind?

Unpopular takes on TBD
BornAgainBillsFan replied to Ethan in Cleveland's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Lawson balled out this past year because it was his "contract year".If McBeane had picked up his 5th year option, Shaq would've coasted in 2019 and balled out in 2020. (I wish it was possible to wait on picking up the option until after year 4, so teams could potentially get 2 years of hustle out of some players.) The Dolphins won't see much out of him until he's getting ready for his 3rd contract run. -
The weakness of Coach McD
BornAgainBillsFan replied to WIDE LEFT's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I like this thread, because McD's game management has been a problem since he arrived. He calls time out whenever the play clock gets down to 2 seconds, even if it's 1st or 2nd down (when 5 yards can be made up). And not having time outs at the end of a half or game is the difference between 0 and 3 points, or between 3 or 7. There are times when I suspect McD is using the time outs early, so he has an excuse to run out the clock at the end of the 1st half. But maybe that's a little too "foil hat". Anyway, doesn't anyone remember McD hiring a GMC (game management coach) in March? His name is Marc Lubick: https://www.rochesterfirst.com/sports/managing-the-bills-game-management/ So proud of McD for putting his ego aside, and making needed improvements to every aspect of the team. -
2 Tampa Bay Bucs test positive for Covid-19
BornAgainBillsFan replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Are you a real Doc? Or do you just play one on the internet? ? Just kidding - either way, it sounds like a good plan. Would you include the players' immediate families in the testing and sequestering? That's where it gets tricky. Not sure players/coaches/staff will want to spend months away from family. -
Actually, the full value of Mario's FA contract (3 years, 30.045 mil) was a fraction higher than Shaq's (3 years, 30 mil). The Bills DL is going to be an 8 man rotation: Addison, Hughes, Jefferson and Epenesa at DE/Edge, Lotulelei, Oliver, Butler and Phillips at DT. All are roughly 7 or 8 out 10 right now, so they'll get roughly even playing time (25-35 minutes per game). So if Mario does his part in making his share of plays, that'll work for me.
