It's not going to be a hot topic come election time, because 80% of the public isn't offended by the landscapers and maids' ethnicity, and Mexicans are known the nation over to be hard workers. I welcome them. They are also the backbone of American Agriculture. They deserve some credit, at least in knods, if not rights.

Local taxes were collected for the first public schools in the Colonies. When a community starts worrying about the collective well-being, individuals become inclined to sacrifice individual rights (income, in the vernacular of this conversation) for the betterment of the collective. When you think about it, I didn't print the money that constitutes my income, nor did I set up the system, nor did I insure it, nor did I just give it to myself. There is a great degree of interdependence involved that works to get the money to me. I don't get to decide the value of my own work and worth - the market decides. Federal taxes have been collected since George Washington's Presidency - The Whiskey Tax. Whatever you think the Founding Fathers thought about taxes, doesn't jive with practice. In my opinion, Promoting individual rights over the collective well-being only causes disharmony, even on the interpersonal level, nevermind state vs. state. And there are bound to be rogue states and bully states in the absence of a strong central government. I believe that we have already tried the decentralized system of government that you are advocating, and it could have only continued to have been imposed at the point of a gun. The Confederacy is case in point, but it had been tried, and failed. Each state would have its own immigration policy, customs, trade agreements. That's many massive bureaucracies that would be created, while losing the current efficiencies of scale that come with a strong central government. I just think that emphasizing individual rights is divisive. We'd be stepping on each others toes, and things could escalate quickly. United we stand; divided we fall. Your ideas are kind of zany, though, and for that, I am grateful. Is it alright if I call you The Anarchist? edit: minor grammatical

Tax funded public schooling predates the Revolution. Public schooling is a slippery slope towards welfare, and "welfare" is a loose term. Also, it's a good thing that original design gets re-designed. Things evolve. I think we'd agree that caution should be used in any instance of government intervention.

I don't know what you mean by the Natural Rights of Man, if you think that Democratic Socialism subjugates them.
-
All theory is not reality. All reality is not theory. The State, in Democratic Socialism, also would represent the mandate of the people. What natural rights of man would you lose by moving to Sweden, or Germany? What gun barrel would actually be pointed at you?

I'll tell you what would lighten the load on the horse we call America. It's not TAMF, SNAP, Mecidare, and Medicaid. Those are the things she was designed to carry. It's military spending, for one. I get the impression that some of the same voices that call for cutting food stamps, these same voices call for bombing Iran with their next breath. These armchair Alexanders don't realize the burden that American belligerence puts on the American taxpayer. These mini-Napoleons are marching us well beyond our line of supply, because they are glory hunters. The soldier suffers while these impractical and unreasonable blowhards keep pursuing their delusions of grandeur. We need a man of great courage and sound reason to get us out of this mess. We need Bernie Sanders to lighten the load on this Horse called America, and turn her full power towards the job she was designed for. Eisenhower spoke, and it seems only Bernie Sanders was listening. Bernie Sanders doesn't think of world domination, over-reaching, only to fail, and get mad at the left-behinds. Trying to dominate anything is over-reaching. Slow and steady and persistent has always been the best course for this Horse we call America. Take care of that Horse. She's a good one.

My prediction: It's going to be Tyrod.

Are you trying to brainwash yourself? Oh, well, we'll bite our nails until you make your decision. I'm just warning y'all though, I've got so much of an underbite that I have to cut my nails with actual nail cutters, so I might be behind the curve with you'all on this one. I'm just saying Tyrod to save my nails. I'd have to bite my nails with my molars and that would look all mangled like some chomped lettuce. -
Knowing the Clintons, good friends of Trump, they'll not go "poor."

She was a bit presumptuous putting herself out there as the nominee nolo contendere. She even resigned from the Secretary of State office. It doesn't look good. In my opinion, she didn't think she would be healthy enough, after the demands of SoS to run for Pres. So... I don't think she will be up for it, ultimately. I hope she doesn't cause a stink within the party.

Comedy gold. Trump with a Security Clearance? You can cash the same comedic check, over, and over, and over. It may be America's greatest untapped resource.

What I like about Bernie, is that he could call himself a Democrat. He could call himself a Libertarian. He could call himself an Eisenhower Republican. But he's not afraid of the Socialist label, because he's not a coward. Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security, TAMF, SNAP, etc. That's Socialism. We live with that every day. That's been Socialism since FDR, maybe longer. We know it, we sense it, he says it - and critics say COMMUNIST! These critics are Socialists themselves but cowards. These critics are ashamed of their Socialist pasts. Their Conservative ideal, the 50's, was Socialist. Socialist, you cowards, not Communist, Socialist! Now let's embrace this thing, and do prudent, smart, powerful, beneficial Socialism like the Greatest Nation on the Planet. We've been doing it like fags in the closet, even though, WE ARE SOCIALISTS, AND PROUD!

Hillary. She's uninspiring. The emails and whatever are mistakes, but minor mistakes not worth the attention they are given. I'd vote for her, because... Trump is a jerk, imo. An absolute jerk. He's the dictionary definition. I respect your right to disagree.

I've also noticed Trump propping himself up upon Bernie's success. Remember when Trump was the one source to claim he had 14 thousand people at his Arizona rally? Multiple sources estimated the crowd to be in the 4k range. But Trump proudly tweeted 12-15k, biggest crowd ever. Bigger than Bernie Sanders. Sanders just pulled 28,000 two nights in a row. Eat dust, Trump. Sorry, my links aren't working. Searching "Trump crowd size," confirms the above. Now, Trump is flattering himself with the comparisons to Bernie's enthusiasm. I can tell you that the comparisons are becoming more and more prevalent among right wing media. Sanders followers, however would scoff at the comparison. It tells you something.

Fair enough. The article writer did start it. I'm not going to defend the article. -
I apologize if this has already been posted. http://www.cnn.com/2015/07/30/politics/bernie-sanders-donald-trump-poll/ 44% Sanders vs 39% Trump in a general election. That's a wider margin than H vs T. I know it's CNN but they've been Trumps go to outlet. I'm telling you, Fox News vs. Trump is going to be the Fight of the Century.
