If it were just the United States vs. Iran, it would be as simple as 1 + 1 = 2, or the Pathogoreum Theorum formula that I've heard on Conservative Talk Radio. The sanctions are only effective if the rest of the World agrees to enforce them. The US can not unilaterally enforce sanctions upon Iran. Repeat: The US can not unilaterally enforce sanctions upon Iran. Gee, but I thought that we are the rest of the world. Of course you did. It would shock you that Russia (The Soviet Union!) ​were also party to these negoti​​ations. And Freedom Fries France was also at the table. I won't even mention the United Nations, because that's a sure recipe for confusion and anger among the staunch blindered Americans that oppose this deal. For your information, blinders are those things you mount to horses heads, so that they can see nothing but what is ahead of them. Such thinking is extremely vulnerable to a blindside attack. "Democratic" Socialist, mind you, not Communist. My hunch is that being an Independent senator from Vermont gives him some Libertarian credibility. I'm a big Eisenhower fan. I'm a big fan of Bernie, too, and don't get the impression that he'd sky government spending. The priorities would be vastly different in a Sanders administration. We waste a lot of money on drug offenders - that's a Libertarian/Bernie issue. We intervene too often in foreign affairs - that's a Libertarian/Bernie issue. CAFTA/NAFTA is a bad deal - sounds Libertarian/Bernie to me. Hunters shouldn't be impeded by gun regulations - that's a step in the Libertarian direction. I really don't know what Liberal means. As a derogatory term, I guess it means a person who'd vote for Hillary just because she's a woman. Therefore, a Liberal wants a woman president because it would be politically correct. She may be a woman, but she's just not inspiring, and has questionable integrity. If people can get over the labels, I think that Bernie has a lot to offer mainstream America. I think he can beat Hillary, and either Dem. would trounce Trump in the General Election. Far too many people would never vote for Trump. Angry white males love him. Far too many people hate angry white males. Poor babies - you are being discriminated against. Why doesn't everyone just submit to your clearly delusional superiority? So it really comes down to this, undecided Republicans: would you rather that Hillary serve as President, or that Bernie serve as President? It's not too late to change parties so that you can vote in the primaries. In the meantime, what I'm really hoping for is a Roger Ailes (FOX) vs. Donald Trump war. That would be the best entertainment. It really is inevitable.

Would Republicans who don't like Trump vote for Clinton in the general election? I doubt it. Tell me if I'm wrong, but I could see some Republicans who don't like Trump voting for Sanders if he won the ticket. Bernie is much less unlikable than Trump, and Clinton too. Those likability and familiarity numbers will be really interesting to watch.

It's the sort of thing I wouldn't ever have noticed if not for the reaction expressed here. I'm not blaming the OP. It's entertaining to talk about. Neither am I surprised. It's the type of wedge issue that gets people shouting at each other and makes for a news cycle that can be self sustaining, feeding perpetually upon the conflict created by its own invented controversies. That equates to subscription $ and clicks for Newsweek. For me, the POW/MIA flag doesn't provoke a strong emotional reaction. If I were confined in Guantanamo, though, that flag would surely bring a tear to my eye. (I jest!, I jest!) See, I too know how to play the game.

I'd be OK if Iran did some more heavy lifting in Iraq. I never bought the whole Axis of Evil thing. I see Iran as a potential ally that's still pissed off that Eisenhower unleashed a CIA catalyzed coup on their first democratically elected government back in '53. The US has made a lot of enemies through the CIA's involvement. My plan in Iraq would be to just keep the Iranians, and Saudis from killing each other, but more or less, let them reform Iraq themselves, however they see fit. We're getting in the way, atm. What difference does it make if it's the Iranians or Saudis or Americans fight ISIS? To me, I'd rather it were them, because they'd be better at it, have more incentive, and be more committed to the cause. Let them shape their own region and if we can turn that into alliances, the nuclear thing is less of a threat. That said, I think the new compromise is a graceful way of postponing Iran's nuclear ambitions. All we are saying, is "give peace a chance." (Oh, I know you're going to hate me for that last sentence)

This area and city has a drinking culture to rival any other in the nation. I have not seen much drinking on the job, but come the weekend, or even 5pm, it's on. The Bills game is especially drunk friendly, because we're expected to cheer loudly. Sometimes, given the outcomes, that requires a serious impairment of judgement. For the record, I'm not against drinking, but I don't like it when people get pass out drunk.

If an ant in my antfarm didn't believe in me, I wouldn't even notice. Whatever the other ants do to him, I'd think of as barbaric and ignorant. If things got out of hand, and just seemed like too much trouble, I'd just throw out the antfarm, and start over.

I'd just like to take this opportunity to announce the results of my little experiment. I watched the SuperBowl for half the game, and listened to the Classical Music station Buffalo WNED, for the other half. But I couldn't finish the experiment. By the end of the game, I was vacuuming my living room so as not to suffer the torment of watching the NFL. WNED, however, was very pleasant, and I'll be looking to become a member.
