Will the next CBA make or break the Bills?
SF Bills Fan replied to billsfan89's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm not too scared of an uncapped year. I think the system will maintain itself. Jerry Jones has lots of money, but he is struggling to pay for his stadium in a bad economy. He can't go nuts and steal every player. Most owners are sane and know that rocking the boat would be a bad for the league. The NFL would not exist if there were 5 teams that beat all the other teams by 35 points every time they played. Now if it stayed uncapped, over time a system of haves and have nots would emerge and it would be more subtle, but it would make a difference. And we would deinitely have not. -
T.O. living in hotel this season??
SF Bills Fan replied to extrahammer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A hotel is realistic. What do anything else? No cleaning etc. It's silly to do anything else. -
Delaware North could easily pony up that money. It is interesting to note that Rich Products was one of the first corporations to attach their name to a stadium. When I was little, in the early 70's and we had just moved to OP, I thought the stadium was named after some guy named Rich who probably built it.

I don't know much of Skooby. I haven't read his posts. Why do people not like him? What did he do?

#2? He'll be lucky to be #3

My mom is doing is making the change as well for tax reasons. Now her primary residence will be listed as our condo in FL and not our house in OP. The amount of time she spends between FL and WNY will not change at all, in fact she is basically still a WNY'er. We have neighbors that recently did the same. The savings are pretty big. I wonder how much of Buffalo's population loss is attributed to people that actually don't really move? I would not be concerned about Golisano moving either.

Bills Haters In The Media
SF Bills Fan replied to Canadian Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
When things are going well and the team performs, we get praised, when things are going badly we will get no love. You have to develop thick skin and not worry. If we turn it around in the next year, people will heap praise. The criticism is painful, but right now, true. Frankly, who cares what they say. -
What an awful week with his daughter and now Kemp passing away.

When was the last time you were happy...REALLY Happy
SF Bills Fan replied to OnTheRocks's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Very Satisfied with the Lynch, Edwards and Poz draft. I remember being pretty psyched on Poz alone. -
Whoops! I meant 8-8 at best. Likely 5-11, though
-
I see 6-8 at best.

They probably need him to start doing things for that reality show too. He had dinner at Tempo. You can see everything on twitter. He posts like mad.

Report: Lynch suspended three games
SF Bills Fan replied to TimGraham's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Seems a bit extreme. He did dodge a the charges last year, so I'm not too surprised. Good thing we got the MNF game in Foxboro to kcik off the season. This better be wake-up call for Lynch. If this keeps up, he will be out of the NFL. -
He must be so happy to see snow on the ground in April. Then again, it was like 90 degrees for that late October MNF Game he played in Buffalo a few years back.

No. Buffalo would fly off into space. This board would explode.

Jim Kelly on KTAR AM in Phoenix This Morning
SF Bills Fan replied to BamBam's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If the team is not sold to Jim before Ralph passes on, and the team is up for bid, we have to hope the NFL rejects any group that plans to move them away and accepts a local bid by Jim and his group. The NFL owners would never keep the Bills in Buffalo out of the goodness of their hearts. How could you tell the Wilson family that they can't sell to someone from LA for 500 million more? You can't. Plus a move to LA or even Toronto is lucrative to those fat cats. So that will not happen. We have to hope for a deal in place so that when Ralph goes, the price has been set and the team passes at fair value to Jim and his group. I hate the fact that there will more or less be an auction for the team. Has that happened in the NFL before? Has that happened in any pro sport before? It's a shame Ralph was a carpetbagger and didn't have sons that were Buffalo guys. -
number of people that think bills stay
SF Bills Fan replied to jax bill backer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Jax may be growing- but not at that fast of a rate. It is 1.3 million in the greater metro. Buffalo is about 1.2. However, Jax is not a regional market. You don't leave there and drive 80 miles and find lots of Jax fans. They share their market and butt up against all the other NFL teams and college football, which may be more popular around there. 80 miles outside Buffalo and you are still firmly in Bills territory. Rochester is a metro of about a million and that is all Bills. And, of course, there is Toronto a city of 5 million+ which is counted as our market, which is fortunate or possibly horribly unfortunate as we will find out in the not too distant future. LA won't take the Bills, but we will either lose them to Toronto entirely or end up sharing them to a greater degree. I'd say that Jax would be a prime candidate to move to LA should a team decide to go there. Depends on if Wayne Weaver is losing money or gets greedy. -

SF Bills Fan replied to jax bill backer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think the Jags should be the team to move. They can't even sell out a Monday night game. They have to block out seats. That team never should have been awarded to Jax to begin with. They were the default winner when St. Louis screwed up their bid in '95. -
Houston Texans RB detained while Mother-in Law dies
SF Bills Fan replied to KG4ZDX's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I can understand the the initial reaction from the officer, but after the explanation, he should have let them go or even helped them get to the hospital ASAP. How hard would it have been to do a little "police work" to find out the truth here? Police are usually skeptical and don't give the benefit of the doubt, which leads to problems like this. You are guilty UNTIL proven innocent in these situations. But it is impossible to prove your case and your desperation just gives the police more license to go after you. You are more or less placed in a situation where you have to break the law and things just escalate with every action until something minor leads to resisting arrest or worse. I'm not anti- police- I can understand the caution that needs to be excercised. Look what happened this weekend in Oakland where a routine traffic stop got two cops killed.
