I think that is a bit premature to say. I think they are on the downside, but still have the ability to beat us twice and contend for the division and more.

The 49'ers will end up staying in San Francisco. There is an alternative stadium being proposed in a big redevelopment called Hunters Point. It will end up being a better deal than if they moved to Santa Clara. The team will have to pay far more out of pocket to build down the highway. They asked the NFL for money, but the stadium fund was used up by the Jets. The Yorks are notoriously cheap, they will not pay the $700 million needed to bridge the gap. This is a huge bluff to get a better deal from San Francisco. Really they just want to speed alng the stadium in San Francisco which has been stalled since the days of Eddie Debartolo.

As others indicated- Sabres are switching back to the old logos (the 3rd jersey this year). The new 3rd jersey will be the one that the old Bisons hockey team wore that has a soda pop top on it.

Rookies day out....where would you take them??
SF Bills Fan replied to BillsRUs's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Duffs (especially since the President just was there), Albright-Knox, a tour of some of the neighborhoods. I'd take them to the Falls and show them UB on the way so they know that there is a school in the area almost as large or in some cases larger than the one they went to. I'd take them to somewhere like Chophouse for dinner and then let them have some fun on Chippewa. The waterfront is a work in progress right now, so I'd make a quick swing by to let them know that there are big plans. -
Fox Sports Grades Bills Draft a "C"
SF Bills Fan replied to box0life's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Syhuang nailed it. You can't really grade a draft until at least 3 years out. Right now, everyone is merely speculating. -

Last year of NFL in Buffalo???????????
SF Bills Fan replied to sharper802's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You sound like a loyal fan and that is great. But stop posting these silly "Bills are moving!" posts. There is no indication the Bills will move and there are several other teams that are in far more jeopardy of moving. These posts pop up every few weeks and the madness has to stop. -
The Official USA Olympic Hockey Thread
SF Bills Fan replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Burke built this team perfectly for international play like this. Things are more fluid in the Olympics. It's like the Sabres a few years back when we were able to take advantage of the new rules it played perfectly to our speed. Adding Drury was pure genius. I guarantee that guy took over the locker room and provided the leadership like he did in Buffalo a few years back. Nice to see Kane come alive too. This team is hitting it's stride at the right time. Bring on Canada! -

The Official Canada Olympic Hockey Thread

Russia was a team filled with great individual talent. They were not a cohesive team, though. That was very evident last night. Switzerland played as a more cohesive team and had great games against both the US and Canada. Canada and the US are the best two overall teams in this tournament and I think they will both end up playing Sunday for the gold. We might end up with a thrilling rematch on Sunday. -
What a game! Canada will still be contending for gold. I'd hate to play them again. If Miller keeps playing at this level, we have a shot.

Stand in line with me, to punch NBC in the face!
SF Bills Fan replied to Lv-Bills's topic in Off the Wall Archives
It's a farce. What a stupid decision. Showing ice dancing over one of the most exciting events of the Olympics thus far? Way to go NBC. With the whole Conan-Leno thing and this kind of decision, you have to wonder how these boneheads still have jobs. -
I agree with people that say a stadium needs to be built closer to Canada. The Niagara Falls area would make most sense to make it easier for Canadian fans and fans from Rochester to get to it. It would be no harder for people from Buffalo to get to than RWS is now. It would be easier. Plus the options for fans needing hotels would be much better. I say force the Senecas to pony up a bigger share of the casino cash to help pay for it. They would benefit big time.

It will be interesting to see if the other owners allow this sale. They are pretty picky about who gets in the club. If there are red flags in his past, that might nix it. I'd rather just see the Rams go back to LA. They never should have left were it not for the fact that Georgia Fontiere saw some short term benefit to moving from the second largest market to a middle tier market that is really a baseball town and had already lost a team and didn't seem to care. If the Rams were still in LA, the value would be well over a billion dollars and they would have far more potential for making money. Way to go Georgia, nice vision.

Unfortunately for Reed, the Super Bowl games were bad games for him. Remember his tantrum and thrown helmet that took us out of field goal range in the Redskins game? The drop on 3rd and short over the middle after the sack/safety against the Giants? I still swear we would have won the game had we sustained that drive. These all weigh heavily agianst him. If we had beat the Giants, he would be in.

My buddy who played for a number of teams including the Jets, Redskins and Browns said Buffalo and Cleveland were his least favorite NFL cities. In fairness to Buffalo, he said when he was there, they stayed at a hotel in the middle of nowhere and they never left except when they went to the stadium. He never went out because he didnt know where to go and had noone to show him around town. I would imagine that is the same experience most NFL players have in Buffalo. When they go to places like chicago or Atlanta and the stadium is downtown, it is probably far more exciting to be on the road.

This is no diss.

The team ha not been successful for over a decade, Buffalo has a bad national image and the weather isn't great and there are limited nightlife opportunities for these millionaires. I'm not surprised. For every Steve Tasker, there are 5 McGahees that dislike Buffalo. Who cares? I remember a few years back when the same type of poll for the NHL had Buffalo as the worst place to play. Now that pissed me off.

Leading Bid for Rams from Toronto
SF Bills Fan replied to Gabe Northern's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There would be room for team in Toronto and Buffalo. There are many Sabres fans in Southern Ontario that are not Leafs fans. The people that are Bills fans wouls stay that way and I would imagine there are alot. Nothing would change except there would be 8 games in buffalo again. The tailgating would be so lame up there, people would still want that kind of experience. I think the Rams are headed back to their original home with a second team- probably the Jags- joining them. At most, the Bills will play a 2nd or 3rd game in Toronto, but they would not move there permanently. . -
This is exactly what I thought would happen. It corrects an injustice. Georgia Frontiere moved the team because she was givin a new stadium and many incentives. she should never have been allowed. So the Rams returning is fine and they will be supported. I can still see the Jags moving there as they want an AFC and NFC team. I never thought LA was a threat to us. I see us giving another game or maybe two to Toronto, but I believe the Bills will never go there full time. San Antonio and Vegas will not get teams anytime soon or maybe ever.
