  1. There is a National Preservation Conference going on. There are thousands of people from all over in town for it.
  2. I'd rather see Up with People come back. My favorite halftime show was by far the U2 halftime. Prince was pretty cool too. I'm not sure what band would be a good one these days. I'd like to see the Foo Fighters or Chilli Peppers.
  3. They need a solid showing through a whole game. They either start off horribly or don't finish. We are getting 30 minutes of good football and 30 minutes where they are pretty bad or average at best. Fitz is not super accurate, but you don't need a great QB to win it all, you just need a smart reliable guy that does not make lots of errors. He is that guy. The depth needs to be addressed for sure. That is my major concern.
  4. I hate to say it, but the Pats will likely win the division. I think our best chance is a wildcard. I want the Pats and Jets to lose all the time, but we really will need the Jets to go down. It would be very satisfying to take them down twice. They look very beatable too. I'll be in the weird position of rooting for miami to win when they play those teams this year.
  5. I am sure there was a spike in donations today. The fact that it is being dicussed here shows that the goal was accomplished.
  6. I see no problem with it. It is for a good cause and cancer awareness.
  7. There were bad calls, but we still had the opportunity to win despite the calls. We didn't stop their offense when we were up by 7 after the bad call. You can't blame the refs for our poor execution on both sides of the ball in the second half. We have had some calls go our way in the first few games. I won't hang this loss on the officials like I won't point to the refs as a reason for our wins in the 2 games prior.
  8. I always liked Wade as a defensive coach. He was not a great head coach, though. It would be interesting to see what his stats are as a defensive coordinator with all the teams he has been with.
  9. There were a few times when I thought it might have been better to be more conservative when we had 3rd and short yards. Then again, we get one of those big plays and we all would be talking about how brilliant it was to go for broke.
  10. BSG out in OP is pretty good. I've been there for a few Sabres games when I am back in the area. I bet it gets pretty crowded for the Bills.
  11. Check out this pathetic list that just came out today: http://news.yahoo.com/travel-picks-top-10-nfl-tailgating-destinations-105004523.html Buffalo is not even in the top 10 for tailgating. It is almost like the author drew some of the cities out of a hat to fill out the list. Miami? Please. I don't think you are even allowed to tailgate in Houston.
  12. He was using scissors. I use that technique myself. If you looked closely, at another tailgate, a guy was cooking on a saw.
  13. I just watched that segment on the Early Show. It really made me want to get back there for a game. It looks like people have taken tailgating to the next level. They had a guy cooking a pizza in an oven.
  14. The Buffalo guy picks against Buffalo.
  15. I got chills reading that. Great article.
  16. Letting Lee Evans and Marshawn go would be the kind of classic moves the Patriots would do. If it were the Pats it would be heralded as genius because it would seem those players were expendable because of Jackson and Spiller and Johnson and several other recievers. Everyone knows the Pats are a "have" type team and could afford the players if they wanted. Because it is the Bills, it looks like a pure salary dump by a "have not" team. We will not know on Evans until we see the type of player we get for that draft pick. As you said, I would really like to understand what a team like the Pats or Falcons look at when they consider a player. Billy Beane was big on the OBP. Somewhere out there, there has to be hardcore statisticians that feed some of these teams numbers. Given the Bills recent draft history, it is clear our system was awful.
  17. I was talking with some other Bills fans this weekend about this. I think the Patriots follow the this type of philosophy to some extent. They are quick to get rid of high priced players and pare salary and stock up on middle round draft picks which they use effectively. They don't always go for players that are considered blue chip either. I don't know what kind of stats they look at, and football is probably not nearly as easy to quantify as baseball, but they seem to get quality players that other teams would pass on that fit perfectly into their system. The Bills get rid of players in an effort to trim payroll and keep costs low for the bottom line. The Pats seem to make savvy moves and get rid of players at the perfect time.
  18. Juaron never seemed to make any adjustments. He just stuck with whatever gameplan was put in during the week. When things would go poorly, he would stick to that and hope soemthing would catch on. Granted, Fitz makes some great adjustments at the line, but I think Gailey makes some big changes and that is what got us back in both games the last two weeks. If Juaron were coaching last week, we would have gotten blown out.
  19. I'm not extremely impressed with either team. This seems like a sloppy game.
  20. That is my main worry- soem sort of letdown. I think they will stay focused though.
  21. Agreed- this game is as dangerous as any on the schedule. We haven't got one game that you could say is a given.
  22. You are so right! I forgot about that angle. That is some nice motivation.
  23. We have a nice run against a few coaches that were offered and turned down coaching jobs in Buffalo. Lewis, Shanahan and Shottenheimer in NY. I'd like to throw it in their faces.
  24. That is awesome. I missed it last night- thanks for posting!
  25. It was nice to see Belichick lose his composure.
