  1. Here is a quote "Let's not get too excited about this win, I mean, it was the f-ing NY Jets."
  2. He looked great today. I think having Johnson out benefited him. That is odd to say, I know, but he he always looks to him first. We have a deep receiving corps! The ball was spread around. I've said before, I see enough to think he will be good for us. He was a clear leader today.
  3. Man- the old Aud I thought I was always going over in that place. It was steep.
  4. Manuel has not played as much including preseason which is huge for development. So Smith has the benefit of more experience. Manuel either looks great - like today or he does nothing. Llke last week. He doesn't implode like smith today. Geno looked flat out awful.
  5. Agreed on all fronts. I thought all of that stuff while it was going on.
  6. From OP- a fan since I was a baby. No other way.
  7. He will survive this year. Coughlin may too. If next year is the same, they will be goners.
  8. I work close to Palo Alto and need to avoid the traffic. I'll be switching between this and the NFL tonight.
  9. It is in Pitt, so that is probably the reason.
  10. Good news- the Pittsburgh game will be much more interesting now.
  11. I remember that game well since I was there. I had only been in San Francisco for about a year then. I thought of it yesterday too. If Holmes scored that day we likely win. We've had some bizarre plays that lead me to believe we are cursed.
  12. Not good at all. Given the stress level, you would think this would happen more often. I am close to a heart attack every week just watching. Seriously no joking- hopefully all is well for coach Fox.
  13. I was at that game. We walked from the W hotel where we are staying to the stadium. I recall little to no tailgating going on. I may heave seen you guys partying as I recall one car near the stadium with a group rocking out. I don't even recall many bars near the stadium to hang out in before. They had no real space for tailgating. I go to Seattle a lot and now they have a train to take people from the airport to downtown and it stops at the two stadiums, so there is even less of a need to drive to games there. I still don't see a ton of bars near the stadium though the whole corridor from the airport to downtown has been built up. Some places just don't have a tailgating culture.
  14. I see Buffalo usually ranked in the top 5, but I've never seen #1. Green Bay, KC are always up there too.
  15. A huge psychological boost for a young team, for sure. I win tomorrow or against the Chiefs and I think that the playoffs would not be out of the question.
  16. A few games ago I would have said we would be destroyed, now I say we hang tough and it is 31-27 Saints with another close finish.
  17. I thought the same thing. He didn't retreat or get intimidated. He got fired up and channeled it into some good play. in fact he, Fred and Mario all seized control of the team and seemed to step it up as game progressed. Particularly Thad.
  18. I said the same thing to some friends Sunday. We could easily be 7-0 or 0-7. It has been a crazy year. I think we are exactly where I'd expect us to be in our rebuilding this year. Except EJ has been injured. I would love to see an 9-7 record and it is not out of the question, bit 8-8 is more realistic. They are playing entertaining football with an opportunity to win every weekend.
  19. Since they have been bad for so long, they have been left of the list of teams that get Monday and Sunday night exposure as tgey should. But this particular team is entertaining emough to warrant a prime time game. If they surprise everyone and win a ton if games and have a shot at the playoffs, they may get cherry picked for a late season prime time game. If they continue to show promise, then next year I bet they get a Monday it Sunday.
  20. Falling on it was the right thing. He nearly overran it. If it had been flubbed and not recovered who knows what would have happened. Probably no victory
  21. I have never been, but I feel like Miami is a town of come late and leave early blasé fans.
  22. After the next 3 games the schedule eases up and 8-8 is a real possibility. I know it sounds silly, but I would be extremely pleased at 8-8 with continued development and improvement. I've seen enough this year, even with some tough losses, to think that the team is on the right track.
  23. They need Byrd, not a receiver. Their secondary got torched several times last night
  24. You and I think alike.
  25. We can't get this team altogether at once. We find a few pieces of the puzzle and a few others go missing. We are cursed
