As Rust says at the end of True Detective: “Light versus dark. You’re looking at it wrong, the sky thing. If you ask me, light’s winning."
I think we've seen the worst of it. The last few days with the support for Kelly and the outpouring for Ralph, you see all the positives. I predict that in the coming months that we'll start to see the groups come forward that will ultimately keep the team in Buffalo. In addition, I think the team is going to turn the corner on the field. It will come together and this dark time will be behind and the team will be as strong as ever.
If the trust will indeed run the Bills for the next few years, this may be big benefit to the Bills remaining. It could allow time for LA to get a team or teams before any sale. It may actually speed the Rams return to LA. It will give the stadium group time to come up with a plan for a new one and it will allow local interests time to get things in order and get the support needed to make a move..
There is a good write up in the Buffalo News about what comes next. The short of it is- nothing for several years while the estate sorts everything out. Then sold to highest bidder, but there are many reason why it would be prohibitive to move them, lease, fees and support. Golisano and Pegula and the Kelly group are mentioned as possible suitors. LA is the main threat.
No way- if the Rams go, the NFL will be dead to St. Louis. That is one town where the NFL takes a seat to baseball. The fans there will quickly move on. This is no Cleveland or Houston- the NFL will never rush to fill the void. They are reluctant to build a new stadium for the Rams and that is what will ultimaty drive them away and no team will relocate to a dome that is considered outdated.
I think we're all wowed by The Mario signing a few years back, but this has been just as good. Wow- Marrone and Schwartz must be saying all the right things.
Tim Hortons, Molson, Labatts, Crown Royal, Canadian Club, Ceasars, Strippers, Curling, Round Bacon- there would be much to love about Canada House. I'd hang out there.
NY is a wealthy state. It curses the Buffalo area with taxes, but when stadiums and arenas are needed, money is there. Mario Cuomo was very helpful in getting the new arena done. Maybe his son will help get the new stadium done?
The Browns should not be higher. They fired their coach after one season and they are starting all over again with a guy that helped coach the Bills into this low odds position.
I hope they go back- they never should've left in the first place. If they don't go back the Raiders will be there very shortly anyway. There's already grumbling here in the bay area with the Niners moving into the new stadium and the Raiders stuck in their old stadium with very little attendance.
