I was young, but can remember Strikes Spares and Misses and Bowling for Dollars on TV. Can't remember anything other than they were on and my cartoons were not on.
I like Stevie. But he doesn't fit here anymore. We need a tight end and depth at running back and on o-line. I'm sure stevie will have no problem finding a new team. I'd run as fast from the Niners as possible if I were Stevie. That is a sinking ship.
They would be stupid to leave a large and wealthy market like San Diego with loyal fans. LA is big too, but it is not the greatest NFL market. Oh well, now that the Bills are safe, I don't care who moves where anymore.
I recall watching that game in college with my friend that was from San Francisco. What an incredible game it turned out to be. I live in the San Francisco now and I drive by the soon to be imploded Candlestick every night on my commute.
I was there. I'd come back from college in Ohio to go. I was with my buddy, Matt and we were in the upper deck right about the 50. It was not nearly sold out that day. I turned to Matt at the half and said "if they don't scomre and hold them, let's go". 2nd half starts and almost immediately Reich threw the pick 6. We were so close to walking. We figured last game of the year- lets stick it out before tge 6 hour drive. Great decision. I recall seeing cars and people coming to the stadium as the comeback heated up. I think there were more people in the stadium at the end than there had been at the start.
It always boggles my mind how Miami always ends up above us no matter how crappy they are and how good we are. Granted we are both crappy, but they are crappier.
I think there is a legitimate concern on that. I think the Rams coaches said that they felt like the Pats were seemingly clued in to everything they were doing on offense, so much so that it was eerie.
Good post- good insight. I see some of Marv Levy with Rex. Great motivator and the players loved him. He ran "Camp Marv" in Fredonia. It was real loose. The difference is that Marv had Jim Kelly who ran the offense. There was also string keadership up top with Polian. Whakey is no Polian. Marv was the glue that kept it all together. He kept egos in check. There were lots of big egos on that team. They bickered and it cost the team early in until they unified. I don't see egos on this team. They are unified and Rex will
help in that area and only bring them more together. But, this team has no leader like Kelly. This will be an interesting year.
If the Jets were better, we would get a Monday night game. I think it is a lock for a Thursday night game. It will be the Bills-Jets game in NYC. Rex returns to NYC. The media will eat it up and it will be the talk of the week. If Marrone end up in NYC, there may be a small nuclear explosion at the press conference.
I'd like a retractable stadium like Lucas Oil. That style would fit nicely with the city and the roof could be closed when we have the type of weather that popped up a few months back. It could be used for other events as well. My main concern is the loss of tailgating as that seems to be a big part of the Buffalo game day culture.
