  1. He was a good guy, but I hear a lot of excuses there. Even when things were not adversarial, he just didn't perform. Look at Josh Allen in comparison. Manuel had the raw talent on par with Allen and had a bigger pedigree coming out out of FL State than Josh Allen has, but those guys are light years apart.
  2. I was wondering the same thing.
  3. That is an interesting observation and likely very true. The preseason will be very tough for an early stage rebuilding team with a new coach, especially if much of it is virtual. It will be strange times for all teams though. The virtual draft will be interesting. I'll miss the fat Jets fans all standing and booing no matter who they pick.
  4. I think there will be a season and it will be on time. Training camp and pre-season will be in jeopardy or happen in some different fashion, but the regular season will happen on time. In the vast majority of the country, this thing has already peaked and I see a steady, but slow return to normalcy over the next few months with summer being relatively close to business as usual. The only way it is postponed is if we see this thing spiking in the fall again, but I believe there may be better and widespread testing and treatment to prevent the wholesale panic and unknown of the last few months. I can't see people going for another shutdown again like we are in, though. I think people are more likely to try to tough it out for their livelihoods and they will want entertainment. With widespread quick testing (which is rolling out now), it'll be easy- test positive and you can't go to the game or work. The one big challenge is the players themselves. If a player contracts the virus and then brings it to the rest of the team, you could have a scenario where a good chunk of the team is a mini-hotspot and is out for 2-3 weeks. That simply would not work. There would be zero fan/player interaction (i.e. the first ten rows of stadium would be empty) and the players would be basically isolated all season while they played or something along those lines. There is enough money at stake that someone will come up with a plan.
  5. Testing. Once the widespread and quick testing starts up, you can determine easily who gets to go. If you test positive, you don't go to work or get to go to the game.
  6. It'll be on the day it is currently scheduled on. 7. I was there- it was freezing cold but sunny I think. Can’t remember the game much but recall it was a close one. Definitely not sold out.
  8. Saw that after I posted and read a bit more. I wonder if there is a way to re-structure? I don't know how the business side like that works. Putting that piece aside- I think he'd be a great fit.
  9. I'd bring in Andy Dalton. I'm surprised I have not heard rumblings that we have tried. It's a natural fit. I think the only concern might be that Dalton still feels he should be #1. If that isn't an issue- why not? He is already loved in Buffalo and he seems to love the city back. It seems all too obvious. I'd feel infinitely more comfortable knowing he was on the bench in case Allen gets injured.
  10. Makes way more sense from an attendance perspective. The Bills could count on Pittsburgh and Cleveland fans filling in seats during lean years. It would also be a lot better from a rivalry perspective too as we could build that with Cleveland and Pittsburgh. I think the main barrier to the Bills moving out of the East was Ralph Wilson who liked the Miami rivalry even though it waned and doesn't have the meaning that it did long ago. I would be happy to have that realignment even though I would like to have New England in our division so that we can exact revenge on them for the last 17 year.
  11. I see the floor at 9 wins and the ceiling at 11. Take the bet
  12. Agree with everyone that says the route to playoffs is winning AFC East. We had a shot this year and with the decline of the Pats, we can really take control next year.
  13. The NFL better plan to pony up too. It’ll be a mix of state, county, NFL and the Pegulas that will get it done.
  14. In San Francisco with the new Chase Center, the PSLs are expensive but the holder of the PSL gets paid back after like 30 years, so the fans are basically giving the Warriors a no interest loan.
  15. Whatever route they go (and it will be resolved soon it seems) Goodell better be ready to hand some money over from the stadium fund. I think teams get like $200 million or so. I know that was a figure thrown around for San Diego's failed bid.
  16. Not surprised and could care less
  17. Glad the Bills don’t have to face Garoppolo for 10 years in New England. He is not Brady but good enough that we’d not be able to take over the division like I forecast we will. Usually, the Pats make good personnel decisions, but this was a blunder.
  18. Niners- Chiefs would be a fun super bowl
  19. Yipes- how many guys were like this? Hughes too. Guys playing injured. I love the dedication but this is not good for them and the team in the long run.
  20. I'll just pick the one team from each division with a bright future and the one that is in trouble AFC East Bills - this year was just the beginning of a good run. I foresee nothing but improvement and the possibility of an AFC East crown next year Pats- this was the beginning of the end Watch out for the Dolphins in coming years AFC North Ravens- will be good for years Steelers - about to go into QB purgatory, maybe already there AFC South Texans - I think the Bills should have beaten them, but they should be solid for a few years. Watson is good and only in his 3rd year Colts- they were a flash in the pan last year Watch out for Titans here- may have something if Tannehill pans out AFC West Chiefs- these guys should be good for many years with Mahommes The rest of this division is messy. All are spinning their wheels with no one to challenge the Chiefs.
  21. I'm driving down from Austin too. Will leave around 5 am as I want to maximize pre-game time.
  22. Arrive in Houston about 9am. Meet up with soem buddies already there and then look to start the pre-game. Probably go to the official Bills tailgate. Celebrate the win and watch the Pats lose somewhere after.
  23. I chose Allen. The reason being that even though Watson is more polished and the better QB (not glaringly so), Josh Allen is a better leader. There is a big difference. That quality elevates the players around him.
