If our roster is so elite, why haven’t we won any Super Bowls? Shouldn’t elite rosters beat other less elite rosters? Are we not winning Super Bowls because of coaching? Afterall, how is it possible for a lesser talented roster (Ram), to win a super bowl before the Bills?
-
If you guys truly believe our roster is better than most in the league, then why are we underperforming? Why haven’t we won Super Bowls while other less talent rosters are? Is it coaching? Is McD our weak link holding us back? Isn’t the GM’s job to field the very best roster in the league as to win Super Bowls? Clearly we aren’t doing enough then by that logic right? I’m not saying to fire Beane, but obviously based on results, we aren’t maximizing our potential due to not being the most talented roster.
-
See I’m the type of person that doesn’t conflate complete rosters with results. Consider a great GM great when said “most complete roster” wins Super Bowls. Right now I consider the Rams and Patriots GM as better than Beane because they actually put together a roster that won Super Bowls.

Well when you have people claiming that wind turbines cause cancer and other falsehoods, they end up in prominent positions. -
I personally agree with leaving abortion up for the states to decide, I generally don’t like abortion, but I’m not going to impose my will on sovereign states to govern how they seem fit. Unless someone is a religious person, morality is completely subjective.

Allen is the Bruuuce of QBs. When you watch him throw, you just know trouble is coming. Brady never had that vibe. He was deceptively good, but I was never thought as him as the type that could completely take over a game regardless of who is on his team. You put Brady on the Jets and I doubt he’s even a perennial contender. If you put Allen on the Jets, and they are still in super bowl discussions. -

I didn’t mean it in the physical sense, but in terms of his talent abilities. Allen’s playing talents are akin to the dangerous dude you don’t want in your family, but its the thrill that keeps the attention. Allen is baaaaad things as a QB. His ceiling talent wise is much higher than Brady’s. -

No I think we will inspite of McDs coaching. He’s a good coach but I wouldn’t consider him elite. McVay or Shanahan with Allen and they are most likely unstoppable. -

Brown, Ruth, and Robinson were all great in their own rights, but I’m just under the perception that past players didn’t have surrounding talent around them they players do today. Would all 3 of these players make a pro squad today? Probably, but I’m not sold on them having the high standings today that they created years ago. Just like players today, will likely be no match for players 30 years from now. -

I’m also too young to have seen them, but the talent around them was much weaker than todays game. The talent of today is just far superior. The training, the diets, the genetics. Some of these pro athletes are basically knowingly or unknowingly participating in selective genetics within their bloodlines. Back in the day, sports were much more casual but today it’s a fierce competition from birth to the end of your career. -

Imagine if we had Barry Sanders on this team with Allen. I mean, that just isn’t fair. If you would have put Barry Sanders on the Dallas team with their Oline and we aren’t even having this discussion because it would be indisputable. -

For me it’s Barry Sanders. He played on an absolutely brutal team with an Oline that stunk. Nobody blew away stage quite like he did, was an instant highlight reel after reel. Just pure wtf moments. An absolutely gifted athlete. -

I consider Allen to be the Randy Johnson of the NFL and Brady is the Gregg Maddux. Johnson would just brutally overpower you, but Maddux was the surgeon. -

Yep, it’s why I call him the surgeon. He was precise and deadly with what average talent he possessed in the traditional sense. If Brady had Allen’s profile, we are likely talking about GOAT and never again beaten records. Brady truly was the Gregg Maddux of the NFL. What a fantastic comparison pony boy. -

Allen with BB and they likely win more than 7 SBs. BB with Allen last year and we likely win a super bowl. -

I never once thought that Brady was unbeatable, it always felt we had to do everything right to stop the BB-Brady combo because of the surgical attack. They were just a good fit. -

Brady definitely made WRs serviceable, but his style of QBing wasn’t anything spectacular. BB schemed in such a way that turned Brady’s surgical style of play into a game of keep a way with a competent defense. The Bills are a complete team, and coaching ruined a super bowl that was snatched away from Allen. -

Brady is the guy that has your daughter home by 12. Allen is the guy that tells you I will bring her back when I feel like it, and has her sneaking out of the house. Then when you decide to go on vacation, does dirty things in your bed. -

If Allen keeps piecing things together, I’m fairly confident he will be the GOAT. I feel bad for Josh already, he’s been screwed out of 1 super bowl already by bad coaching. -

Talent wise, I’m not convince Brady is better than Allen. Brady has had some very complete teams in his tenure. He is a great QB for sure, but I would not give him the GOAT title. When Allen throws the ball, your eyes pop off the screen. I never got that feeling watching Brady throw the ball. Brady was a surgeon, very good at his craft, but he never made you go wow, nobody can do that. I think even deep down, Brady knows that. Which is why he holds a lot of respect towards Josh, you can see that in the way he teases him. -
He was hurt most of his time in Dallas. Even his second year, he didn’t play much as he was overcoming injuries. He also didn’t play in Green Bay. I’m not sure what happened in Jax, but I’m going to take Austin’s word for it. He says he is finally 100% healthy and feels like NFL draft night Austin. Given that he has been lighting it up so far in the offseason, I hold out an ounce of hope for him to actually contribute here.
-
He also didn’t have Josh Allen as his QB. His 4.34 speed still looks close and I have to imagine he has some ability left. Look what people said about Jerry Hughes. I’m not going to write off Austin just yet. If he can’t do anything with Josh Allen, then yeah, basically he will never be good.
