  1. Look at all the Tariq Woolen love in here. So many good talent evaluators.
  2. So post a list so we can see how awesome you’d be at it.
  3. We are missing a key piece. I think I’m more frustrated than anything. I know we are close, and like Diggs, just kind of just agitated by it all. If we go draft Hyatt and a bunch of Olinemen and get a 1B to pair with Diggs, we are super bowl champs. Diggs Hopkins Hyatt Davis Shakir Is a super bowl winning roster. We just need something to get over the hump. I feel like an elite QB is one of those positions that should never be traded until the very end of his career. Once you begin to feel like Allen can’t win a super bowl, no matter who his supporting cast is, is when we should start talking about trading him away for a 1st or more.
  4. Philly had already drafted a 1st round WR and then traded for another elite WR. Cincinnati has 2 elite WRs, and Mahomes has Kelce and decent supporting players. If Buffalo wants to compete against Philly, Cinci, and KC , they need another elite offensive weapon. There aren’t many elite WRs on the trade market. Diggs + Hopkins is unstoppable. Then draft Hyatt to be WR3.
  5. Carr could barely do anything with Adams, I don’t see him doing much with Thomas.
  6. You can get a good judge of character from game film. Heart players don’t take plays off, they grind, they exude energy, they go hard every second. They fight for every inch of yardage, they hurdle, they exercise and study when nobody else is. Hyper focused players shows up on game film. That’s indicative of heart, because it shows you they care extra when most people don’t. You could see this in Kuechly’s tape, he was hyper focused. Same with Sanders.
  7. I disagree, you can spot character on the field. It’s the same way I knew Kuechly would be an all time great. The same way I knew Josh Allen would be great. When players do extra things on the field that nobody else is doing, it shows heart. Those things don’t go away with money. Sanders, Battle, and Vorhees have the IT factor. Particularly Sanders. He has so much heart in his game.
  8. I think you can measure someone’s motor. It shows up in the game film. Players like Sanders, Battle, and Vorhees come to mind. You can see it on tape, they glow with passion. Some are just better at recognizing it.
  9. It doesn’t have to be your top 10 overall, just 10 picks regardless of rounds to where you think those players will have a above average contribution in their careers.
  10. Would rather trade for DeAndre Hopkins
  11. If this was true, why do NFL franchises spend so much money on scouting departments and GMs? After all if it was such a crap shoot, any joe could get similar results.
  12. We are likely 10-7 without Josh and Diggs. We are not a better overall team vs Cincinnati, which is all that matters. We need to go out and do what Philly did, trade or draft an elite WR to pair with Diggs. Go trade for Hopkins and draft a player like Hyatt and we will win a super bowl. Hopkins is the missing piece, and we are in a striking position to make it happen. Now is the time to do these kinds of trades. Diggs Hopkins Hyatt Davis Shakir Is a super bowl caliber offense.
  13. ? Why, this is just who you think are great players in the draft to test ones evaluation skills. Preferably players that are fringe 1st round or later so as to see who can hit on the more difficult to gauge talents. Just like I left out Gonzalez and Witherspoon on purpose because they are a no brainer.
  14. We are 13-3 simply because of Josh Allen and Diggs. We are not winning Super Bowls because we are losing to more balanced teams. Josh Allen isn’t super man, he’s amazing and it’s a testament to how good he is with the less elite talent around him. Just go get Josh Allen DeAndre Hopkins and draft a bunch of olinemen and we would win a super bowl. Hopkins + Diggs + Oline infusion = Super Bowl
  15. True, but who knows, maybe if people put their picks out there and they consistently have great picks it could help build some credentials. Give me some of your picks, let’s see who does the best.
  16. Street cred. Then we can all look back and see how well we did.
  17. Not necessarily an issue, good talent manages to shine through and even if it doesn’t, has multiple chances to show out for another team. I want to see who the best GM/scout is on this message board.
  18. Give me a list of 10 players, a mix or different positions and projected draft rounds that you think will contribute a decent amount of their time within the NFL over the coming years. I’m going to make this thread every offseason to see who performs the best on this site. I want to see if there are any posters that can hit better than some NFL GMs. After you give me a list of 10 players. I want you to give me 3 late round (4th or later) draft prospects you think will contribute or be an aka gem. 1. Peter Skoronski OL 2. Steve Avila OL 3. Michael Mayer TE 4. Deonte Banks CB (Gonzalez and Witherspoon are going to be monsters, but I choose lesser talented CBs I think will have a good career) 5. Julius Brents CB -> S 6. Jalin Hyatt WR 7. Zay Flowers WR 8. Bijan Robinson RB 9. Drew Sanders LB 10. Jordan Battle S My 3 late round gems 1. Ja’von Hicks S 2. Andrei Iosivas WR 3. Andrew Vorhees OL
  19. The point is, the talent surrounding Allen and Diggs is not good enough. We’ve had to rely on the FA class to plug holes, and as a result, the cap room has shrunk. It’s because our draft class hasn’t been good enough to substitute for the higher FA salaries. We haven’t been able to flip draft picks for value gain, and instead have had to write off value losses (Ford, etc).
  20. While it’s true we found some gems in the later rounds, none of those gems are truly elite, to the point where their talents can transcend a team. You are right, our 1-3 round drafting has been absolutely garbage for nearly 25 years. It’s the main reason why we haven’t won a super bowl.
  21. My optimism got the best of me, and I generally felt we had what it took. Man was I wrong, I now feel like this roster is not good enough, we got absolutely rolled by a way better Cincinnati team. If it wasn’t for Allen and Diggs, we wouldn’t even be in the playoffs.
  22. We literally have posters on this forum who are more qualified talent evaluators. I’m going to make a thread asking posters to give me a list of who they think will be mainstay players who will be good pros. I want to see who “predicts” the best.
  23. Why can’t you guys stick with football talk? If you don’t like the topic, stay out of the thread unless you want to contribute something meaningful.
  24. I had James Cook as a consolation RB prize. He was on my RB list of players to draft. I think Cook will turn out ok.
  25. Revisit this post in 2 years.
