  1. I think they’re going with what they have. They have no salary cap space and seem to like whatever that guys name is
  2. Of course it’s ego. Remember, before Brady, Belichick was a below average coach. Granted, he had some bad teams in cleveland and NE But he’s only 51-65 when Brady wasn’t his QB, which includes a 11-5 years with Matt Cassel as the Qb
  3. Fair enough though 86 catches 1179 yards, 13 yds is impressive, P13 or not. When discussing him, Beane said hodgins studies Diggs for his route running and he was the best of any wr he saw in college in 2019 at selling the double move. granted , he lasted until late in the 6th so he’s going to be flawed Mccoy? Lynch? Henry?
  4. why would we assume Hodgins with have problems separating in the NFL. His 20 td split time (which equates to quickness from a standing position) was best of any WR at the combine. Please elaborate?
  5. Don’t agree on the two WRs. They may have less than ideal 40 speed but both of above average athletes and one has elite hands
  6. Nope - Beane said today that the guy they targeted was an olineman. It was Either in the 4th round to move up for stenberg trading with Dallas, moving up in the 5th with Washington trading up for Harris or moving up in the 6th trading with Carolina moving up for Muti or onwenu. My guess is they tried trade their 6th and 7th to Carolina to trade up for Muti as they had several meetings/calls with Muti.
  7. That is 100% true and with limited to no training camp it looks make it even harder to make an impression. I still bet one of the UDFA makes it . The tackle or maybe the FB??
  8. Good post, who knows about Fromme but One thing to remember is Belichick drafted QBs almost every year when he had Brady, and often higher than 5th round picks. Barkley not the answer as a backup and maybe Fromme can be. If not, need to find someone
  9. Glad Wallace and numerous other UDFA didnt think this way.
  10. The kicker wasn’t great last year though, 20-28 on fgs. He does have a ridiculous leg though. If you haven’t seen his no step 50 yard field goal or 1 step 60 yarder, google it jackson is an outside corner, has never played the inside nickel corner role. Beane said as much today
  11. I think this is correct except Diggs can replace what mck does. I think injury to one of these guys is the only way Duke of Foster makes this team
  12. Eason looks like a bit of a meat head to me and remember he left Georgia when he lost his job to Fromme. I don’t expect him to amount to much. yeah I hear you on the oline - just never seemed to have ones with good grades when we ended up picking. Maybe the UFA we signed will amount to something. I’m higher overall on our oline than most. In think a second year with continuity and a 2nd year for Ford will help a lot.
  13. Moss isnt a breakaway threat but he is faster than Singletary. He had a hamstring issue at the combine so his 4.62 time should be discounted. 4.52 at his pro day is decent. Not great but decent. Fromm, if anything, will be a good classroom guy with Josh. Georgia coaches said they regularly had to throw him out of the building late at night (studying film). i studied the draft more than usual with time on my hands, plus with no 1st I wanted to know more about the later round guys. When we were on the clock I actually predicted 3 of the first 4 picks correctly- Espenesa and moss were no brainers and I took a flyer on Fromme and got lucky. In the 4th I guessed Golden-Gandy so at least go the position correct. Was thrilled with the Hoskins pick as I thought he was a late 3rd/early 4th talent but had no clue they’d draft a 2nd wr.
  14. I trust Beane. Some random thoughts: 0 fumbles for Moss last year and best broken tackle % of any back since 2014. Works for me. your D+ rated 7th rd pick Was the 8th rated CB in the draft and his coach said he was the best CB he has ever had. I’ll take that in the 7th Hoskins had the best 20 yd split time at the combine and the lowest drop % of any wr in college last year. Works for me Fromme - who knows and the lack of a normal training camp will hurt him but he will make the roster and probably take over as backup for Barkley as backup next year. That’s good use of a 5th
  15. J I could see McKenzie making it but not Duke. The two draft picks give us the size Duke has, equal speed but with much better hands. I don’t think Roberts is 100% safe either. The other thing to consider is injuries can occur
  16. I think they both make the roster this year. Rosters are expanded, 4th rounders (Gabe) don’t get cut to PS and I think Hoskins would be grabbed but another team if moved to PS. Limited training camp will hurt them though
  17. I get what everyone is saying but I disagree in that I was really impressed with the draft. Without a 1st I did a lot more Deeper research than usual and was impressed with the values Beane got, especially with Epenesa, fromme and hodgins
  18. gabriel was out running routes 30 minutes after he was done with draft interviews (about an hour after being drafted) hodgins led all wrs in 20 sprint time and drop %. Not deep speed but at 6’4” with great hands he’ll be a red zone threat
  19. Yep except Turk would have a legitimate shot of making the team. Sills was so overwhelmed he didn’t even make our practice squad
  20. I agree- I wanted him (or Gandy) when we were picking Gabe and was shocked and thrilled when we took him in the 6th. These gms seem to be influenced so much by combine numbers and stats and he had the best 20 sprint time and lowest drop % of all wrs in the draft. That combined with great stats and a 6’4” frame makes it baffling to me that he lasted late into the 6th. I know his 4.6 40 is blah but he obviously is quick off the line and had size and ridiculous hands. Our win hopefully
  21. He wasn’t available at 58, we took him at 54. In all seriousness, sometimes these teams let combine numbers influence them too much. As they say, “the tape doesn’t lie.” ironically our 6th rd pick hodgins should have been bumped up by the stats crowd. With his 20 yard spirit time (best of any WR at the combine and one of the best of all time) and his drop % of around 1%, again best of any wr, we may have got a 6’4” steal
  22. Watching his Netflix show and like the pick even more. Great kid but a competitive sob. Will be a great backup to Josh. Probably will be 3rd string this year and take over for Barkley next year
  23. It’s a good watch. Martell is ridiculously athletic but never made anything of himself at Ohio state/Miami from is ridiculously competitive- his younger brother Tyler (TE at Auburn now) is the better athlete and is 6’5” now
  24. Ha - related, the Netflix series with Fromm in it in his senior year in Hs is pretty cool. Looks like the same as he does now and he’s a competitive sob. Very likeable though
