I'm happy for Chan and Fitz, but I think history has proven that this is what they do. Through the first half of the season they look like all-stars. Teams adjust and they just look absolutely lost in the second half, making Fitz have to create plays. We know how that works out

I'm not trying to be an @ss by calling this out, but can you please explain this to me? And please don't count any Tyrod Scrambles in your rushing totals (besides the designed runs against the Titans) or throw-away offense time in the 4th during our 3 beat downs I struggle so much this thought. I mean, we should be ecstatic if we make the playoffs. Even if we lose in the first round, that's a win for us, right? But I agree. Even if we make the playoffs somehow by beating all the teams with losing records, you just know it won't mean anything once we get there. I feel spoiled as a poor kid

I mean, why else are they worse with the same players and getting confuse every other play? And to be fair, I blame coaching for our offense as well 😉

Where did the OP say that EJ was the reason we lost? He wasn't the only reason we lost. But he wasn't going to win it for us either. I love EJ. Was happy when we drafted him and bought his jersey immediately. I wanted him to win the job. But the fact is, he's erratic as all hell, can't hit guys in stride, and his deep ball is terrible. He's a back-up at best. That's independent of the outcome to this game.

I feel 100% comfortable saying that this is the same old Bills futility we have all come to get used to over the past 15 years and I'm now going to say that we are actually worse than we were last year. The most frustrating thing is that we are actually a more talented team than last year. We've actually gotten better with our offensive line, QB, and CB. But, what I can only point to as terrible coaching has us in line for the same, if not worse record than last year. For every excuse I'm sure we will hear after this loss, I could easily give you an example of the opposite. Whether it be EJ playing, which many people wanted to see and other teams won with their back-ups this week. Injuries, again, look around the league. Or QB quick releases, not today folks. End of the day, this is the team put together by Whaley, from coaches down to players. We did a great job with some players, but there's a reason you need coaches. This is what I believe: Roman is nowhere near the offensive mastermind he was claimed to be. His offense in SanFran was weak and revolved around running the ball and TE's. Here, he's found a way to make our WR's disappear just as he did there. Rex had 2 great years, and then fell apart as he was outcoached and lost his team mentally. I mean, Marrone lit him up twice last season. Our defense is worse than last year so far. Even with Gilmore and Darby having amazing seasons shutting down 2 of the opposing teams offensive weapons. And with our run defense being stout. We still can't get any pressure. (5 sacks so far vs 20 at this point last season?). Now, they aren't a lot worse, but with a crap offense keeping them on the field so much, any defense would get winded or have a few bad moments. And mentally, I'm proud of them for not just giving up due to knowing they won't get any offensive support. The sad truth is, nothing is going to change. You can't fire Rex, nor should you. Rex can't take tweak the offense as he doesn't know how. We are just stuck with it. He's not wrong. I say it's 25% young qb, 75% scheme. Roman doesn't utilize WR's the right way. Sammy has proven he can be that guy if you put it near him. Roman needs to utilize this kid. He's special. Usually I don't like stuff like this, but he's right saying what needs to be said.

While they do some things well, the things they are doing well are the same things as last year. The offense showed some pop early on, but has look more unprepared than anything else. The defense is the same as last year, at best. Our running game is mainly coming from our qb. So no, I can't agree with this. If anything, they've shown an inability to control emotions (pats game and penalties)

Because those teams have established themselves and winners and earn the benefit of the doubt. We've proven nothing but futility and an inability to close a season out. So when we have these kinds of games, we honestly don't know what the real product is.

I agree with the overall topic, but not about Tyrod. He has shown me that he is more than capable of leading this team both passing and running. I firmly believe that we have an offensive scheme problem where we only send out 2 WR's, telegraph run or pass, and just don't set our guys up to win. I've yet to see a throw that TT can't make

A win is a win. Good teams find a way to win, even if it's ugly. But this offense is just getting worse. I don't know if it's adjustments or what I feared when we hired Roman, that he is a TE/RB guy that doesn't know how to use WR's. You can say that Shady is hurt, but he wasn't having good running games when playing. You can say that Watkins is out, but I'd take our WR's over the Titans today. I'm happy we are 3-2, but our defense can't be on the field like this. This is our 3rd game where the offense doesn't even show up in the first half and we have to rely on street ball to score. This was a team that, while on 13 days rest, was still supposed to be a solid win. I just don't know how to believe that we will beat and contenders this year based off what we've seen so far.

I'm not sure how they rank that, but if this is true, then I blame Roman even more for his lack of creativity for spreading out defenses

For all the criticism about the team, mostly deserve, I haven't seen much against TT. I think most people are on board with him and where he is with his development

It's not different until proven. So right now, it's the same old story

While I think we can get better on our line, I don't think it's anywhere near as bad as you are making it out to be. Look at the Pats. They don't have any world beaters, but they run a scheme that covers it up. No matter who is on our line, if the opposing team is stacking the box and daring us to throw and we don't, that's on our scheme. We don't spread the field or do the things that good coaches do to make the defense respect us. Doing that creates 1 on 1 match ups and let's us run. So yes, we could use upgrades. No, it's not going to fix everything if we don't adjust our scheme.

I hate these games. We win, we were supposed to and doesn't show us anything about our team besides we beat someone easy. We lose, well ****.....

I agree that Watkins drawing that coverage helps. But if Woods and Harvin are as good as they are supposed to be, we should be getting more than 78 total yards in the first half.

When I take the emotion of the moment out of it, I think I'm the most angry by the fact that these are group of adults that are paid millions of dollars to do nothing more than play football and everything within that. Yes, we are all human and capable of flaws. But we have a top 10 talent team and continue to not be mentally prepared, can't execute, or can't stop making dump penalties. I don't know if it's worst to lose when you know you should win or lose knowing you had no chance. I feel like we've done both over the years.

I'm sorry, but what has McCoy done to dictate any of the defenses that we've seen? And how was today different? Sure, Sammy may get the attention of their #1 CB, but isn't Woods a 2nd round pick? Don't we have as good of depth at WR as any team out there? Has Sammy done a fraction of what he did last year? I just don't see how their absence was the difference maker today

If this is true, and I partially agree, then it's the coaches fault. It's their job to get them ready for each game. The offensive gameplan was pathetic today and the control of the team was lost by Ryan.
