  1. I'm seeing tons of players getting cut this week and we should expect even more with the June 1st cuts. There is depth out there and possible starters at positions of need for us, but we are broke. I'm hoping that we can get Glenn under contract soon and free up some cap space to bring these guys in. We filled a lot of holes with the draft, but if we could get a vet at RG, RT, and maybe another Safety in here....that would be huge. And there are guys out there that are upgrades over what we have and at least serviceable enough until we get our guys next year in the draft. I'm banking on Glenn more than Gilmore because I'm a little scared of the money he's going to want after that Norman contract.
  2. Who cares if he's 30? If he can give us 3-4 years, is decent and cheap, why not?
  3. I'd say more a David Harris type.
  4. I saw that, but it's for readers. The show is past the book now and overall different
  5. Is there really not a GOT thread around the show? Tonight was fantastic. Whether you saw it coming or not. Just good to have a character you can really root for. I can't wait until next week
  6. This would be big for us. He's a vet, would be cheap. And we only need him for 2 year deal till Miller gets his act together. This makes a lot of sense. Hopefully a RT will fall into our lap with a June 1st cut
  7. You win. You 100% win for that post. 😀 Fantastic work sir And it's not about being positive or pessimistic. It's about keeping myself in check going into the season. I do the same **** every year. We signed X or we hired Z, so this year is the year to make the playoffs. Then we lose to the Raiders. Then we go from first to last in defense. Something finds a way and the crash to earth is painful. So, I'm happy with how the draft turned out. But I need to temper expectations, if only for my own sanity
  8. EJ has no problem pulling the trigger. There just has to be a Jaguar in his sights
  9. Dolphins 2 just for Tunsil and the Jets taking Hackenberg
  10. I'm surprised as the lack of OT's we tried to bring in through this draft
  11. I was very happy about Ragland. And getting him made me better with Lawson in the first. Washington is tough because he's not the NT I thought we needed, but still possibly the best past rushing DT in the draft, so it can't hurt. And yes, all I wanted was a guy to run verticals in 3 receiver sets so Sammy could do his thing
  12. For those blasting the point of this, read through some these threads about players drafted and thinking championship.
  13. I wonder what number he plans on wearing
  14. I can think of a few drafts where we've come away with at least 2 solid starters. I'd consider that the baseline. 3 solid starters would be great. 4 would be best ever. I'm going to say that I believe in our first two picks as solid starters with picks 3, 4, and 6 as wild cards. I'll let you know next year
  15. I'm very happy with how the draft worked out. I would have liked to have seen an OT, but where our rush game was ranked last year, we will survive. Two things to consider as we wrap up this weekend. There is a general consensus that this draft was deep with talent, but not superstars. There wasn't a Khalil Mack or Andrew Luck. There are a lot of solid starters and depth, which a lot of teams need and that's great. Also, it's rare for a rookie to translate their college stats to the NFL 100%. I've always assumed them to put up about 70% of their senior stats in college and that's worked out fairly well. With that, I expect our top 3 picks to contribute and start immediately, but they only going going to solidify our team and help clean up the weakness we had. The other thing is Rex. Rex had an amazingly talented Defensive team and he squandered it. Now, hopefully he has the guys he wants that fits his scheme, but he hasn't shown a top defensive team in quite some time. No matter what, the offense is relatively the same as last year, with our hopes based upon TT and Sammy taking another leap forward, Woods being healthy, and the offensive line coming together more. Defensively, I think we saw growth at the end of last year and we've again filled in holes that Rex needed. I overall think this draft made us better and I think a lot of things broke our way. But I overall want to keep in check the expectations we are putting onto rookies and Rex. NOT BEING PESSIMISTIC. Just seeing it as history has shown us.
  16. Speed, size, hands. We needed a Harvin replacement to run deep all day. Love it. Needed it.
  17. 5th (basically) on a guy that Whaley is straight up saying won't be a qb for us for at least another year. What's the harm? If he pans out, great. I don't think he will. I think he will end up just as good as 80% of the qbs taken every year, nowhere. Again, for a 5th, worth a shot.
  18. Once you get to the 5th, it's all boom or bust picks. It's no longer about need. As it's been said, we had depth issue last year at RB and qb. Expect more picks like this for the 6th and 7th. If they pan out, great. If not, who cares
  19. I just don't ever see him being a NFL qb
  20. I'm still holding out hope that Easly can be the deep threat we need
  21. I read LaCanfora's Twitter and it's hilarious. He goes back and forth with any old scrub and looks like a child doing it.
  22. Besides Andrew Luck, how many qbs have kept that status two years in a row? Based on recent history, I see him mid first round at best, Chad Kelly higher, and someone we aren't even talking about first overall
  23. When you put it like that.... Championship!
