Shady injures hamstring in practice
Virgil replied to bobobonators's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If we can't beat the Dolphins without him, we weren't going far anyways. Him not being here against the Pats and Seahawks possibly, that one hurts. -
Bills in the 2016 Playoffs?? Yep.

I'm not defending those teams either. I think Denver might be on the verge of falling apart and Oakland takes that division. Oaklands loss to KC worries me for them, but division games are always a little weird. We can't control our schedule and 5-2 would be great. But we just can't say that we know what kind of team we have our if the playoffs are a real thing for probably 5 more games. Call it BBFS, but I need to see more. If we go 4-3 over the next 7 weeks, I'll be on board. -

I have found them to be very erratic in the past, but fingers crossed they are right and it doesn't put him at further risk -

1-5 over that stretch isn't unimaginable. -

No to Palmer. I think he's been done since the playoff game last year. He's lost his arm strength and he's trying to force it. He's reached his Peyton wall. I've said that since before the season began. If the Bills don't make the playoffs this year, regardless of reason, I think Rex owns it. I'm not saying the team hasn't played well. I'm not saying he's the worst coach of all time. I'm saying that he still will not have proved himself as the head coach who is going to fix this franchise. Other coaches have gotten us to this point before and failed. We aren't in new waters here. The ONLY thing I will concede is if they miss the playoff with a 9-7 record or better, that he'd earn himself another year. But that also depends on circumstances. If he gets blown out by the winning teams we face and barely beats the losers, I will be all for him getting fired. End of the day, we were a joke last year. We looked like the worst team in football through 2 weeks. We have won 4 in a row, maybe 5 this Sunday, but who have we beat? The only playoff team we beat didn't have their HOF quarterback. Are their positive signs? Yes. Have we seen them before? Definitely yes? If you want to sign off as Rex as our savior, go for it. I need to see substance first. Been burned too many times. -

We simply have no business talking about playoffs. Especially as a Bills franchise. We've had better records and in better positions in the past. We are the losingest franchise in all of sports. Can you feel the BBFS? This week has proven how close we can get to losing it all. Shady goes down, we go down. With that, I've already stated when I will change my screen name. As of right now, Rex is 12-10 as our head coach. He's shown improvement these past few weeks, but so have other coaches who didn't make it. We've also just come off a streak where we haven't played a legit quarterback. That's not our fault, but it just means we haven't been fully tested yet. Again, happy to be wrong. But this team does not deserve the benefit of the doubt. They don't get to fall into statistics showing that we have a good chance at the playoffs. Until we have actually clinched a playoff spot, I will not change my tone on this. And there is absolutely no excuse that will serve as acceptable to bail out Rex. I don't care who gets hurt, what game we almost won, this is his team, his roster, and his result. But RexOverLips does have a nice ring to is 😀 -

We've had higher percentage chances in the past and blew it. I feel like we will be referencing this thread in a month... -
Robert Woods Has a Boot on His Foot; Out for Miami

What's it take to get a WR who doesn't get injured or play at less than 100%? Watkins, Woods, Easley, Harvin, Goodwin. Seriously, do we have the worst WR luck in the NFL? -

It's hard to sit this guy as these games are so crucial and he IS our offense. However, we need to worry about he long game. If we are to be contenders, we need to be able to beat the Dolphins on the road without him. So bench him, rotate Gillisle and Williams (not bush), run some WR screens and direct snaps, and lets see if the Hunter show is ready. -
It's miami week! You know what that means.....

After WR, everything seems like a luxury. DB and Safety would be fine in rounds 2-3. I'd like to prepare for the exit of Kyle Williams and Gilmore, but they aren't immediate needs. For fun, Chad Kelly and Kicker in rounds 3-7 -
Record prediction after 2 games
Virgil replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
With all due respect, why is Miami on the road your line in the sand? I think that beating the Rams on the road is way more significant in the long run. However, neither games are my "tests. That's going to be NE, Oak, and Pitt -
All I can think about is the 5-2 Bills led by Trent Edwards. Trent was being talked about for MVP and our playoff chances were 83%. Well, we know how that worked out. After it all fell apart, it became more about how easy our schedule was and our vanilla offense. At 5-2, going into a tough 3 game stretch, I'm keeping that other season in my mind. The ONLY way I will get psyched up is if we beat the Pats. If not, I'll reserve my optimism until after the Raiders game. We've been down this road too many times. Call it BBFS. I DO believe in Shady. I DO believe in TT not losing games, but maybe not winning them either. I'm hoping that Rex is figuring it out. But overall, proof is proof and I need to see it.

That loss to them just hurts more and more. I'm really hoping that loss doesn't haunt us

Miami - Win New England - Loss (we never Brady, sorry) @Seattle - Loss (West Coast Trip and Prime Time = Doom) BYE - @Cincinnati - Win (Coming off a bye, should be ready) Jacksonville - Win (It's the Jags) @Oakland - Loss (West Coast, Raiders win the West) Pittsburgh - Loss (Big Ben is back) Cleveland - Win (It's the Browns) Miami - Win (Finally a cold phins game) NY Jets - Win (We have something to prove) 10-6. The Cincy game is the wildcard game for me. If we beat Oakland and Cincy, win and lose the rest to who I predict and who we should, we would own the wild card slots. It's a real possibility.
-
This is a very tough schedule and 8-8 is entirely possible. Home vs Away games are the real killer. Oakland and Seattle on the road is brutal. We have 5 very loseable games to play
-
What is wrong with you to bring that up? "My parents died when I was a kid. Do you want to talk about that too?"

One major thing that I forgot to mention in my recap was WR substitutions. It was happening constantly and surprising. There were many times when Justin Hunter was the only guy out there. Or Hunter and Powell. I was surprised to see our "starters" Woods and Goodwin sit during so many plays.
