This thread is depressing the **** out of me. There is no great answer and we have a first time head coach. Defense can only get better, but our offense is going to suffer. Whoever the OC is will have complete control and the HC won't know anything to oversee it. Not fun.

This would be such an offensive minded change for them. I wonder how Rivers would do in his system. I hope we keep Tyrod. I want to see a year of TT in our system vs Rivers in Lynn's

With that defense and those receivers, he would do good things there. The TT bashers would be eating crow for years

I'm not going to do the research to jog my memory. But basically all of the players he let go in FA that ended up under performing elsewhere

Worked out for the Giants. I think Lynn is very different from Rex. I don't think he should be the guy, but I disagree with this article for our situation.

In that division, with that defensive talent, and with a good offensive draft, they could be contenders in year 2

With Cleveland, San Fran, and Chicago going 1-3, I think 2 qb's will go in the top 10. I think that could cause other qb's to accelerate up the board due to lack of options. I could see Cleveland trade back for people trying to get Jack. If he doesn't go first, I expect to see some trades up. There isn't a QB in this draft that excites me. If either of the top 2 drop to 10, I'd say you have to take one. Not Watson though

Thanks for this. Very different from what I've seen. I've read that Trubisky is the clear cut favorite. I feel like I never really hear Kizer's name this year. It sucks having so many question marks at such a major position. There's no "answer"

Now schefter is saying that the bills are showing remorse over benching TT and he could stay depending on Lynn or whoever gets the job. Also looks like the amount of people interested in Lynn was fabricated. Down to 3-4 from the original 5-6 teams

I haven't posted a lot this past week because I haven't been able to decide how I feel about all of these changes. I know that Rex had to go. I am good with Whaley staying. I'm unhappy with TT being gone, if that's what happens. But overall, I just can't seem to find anything to get excited about with any of these Head Coaches, FA, or Draft. All three of these areas seem to be a matter of better than nothing. With Head Coaches, no one really jumps out at me. I was hoping Todd Haley would be a candidate, but he's not being mentioned for any team. None of the coordinators had a truly amazing season. Mike Smith is the only coach that had previous head coaching success and he's not on our radar. Defensively, we will only get better without Rex. But offensively, I'm very worried about creating a new offensive identity. That is, unless we somehow retain Lynn as OC, which is rare for a new head coach to do. As for Lynn, there is just too much he doesn't know about being a Head Coach and I DO NOT want to rebuild FA is rough because we have so many players we need to re-sign, that I don't see us being able to make a splash. Lorax should get paid, but he's also up there in age. Zach fell off a cliff in the second half. I DO NOT think Gilmore is worth what he will get elsewhere. Woods is bound to get overpaid as well. Regardless, losing them still creates holes that would need to be filled. So it's a catch-22. This draft looks to be incredibly average to me at positions of need, being WR, RT, QB (if TT is gone), S, and DB (If Gilmore is gone). The draft is the reason why I wish we could magically have all of our players extended on more year with a new defensive coach. Our talent level was good enough for the playoffs. If we had our same roster, same OC, added Mike Williams, a starting RT and S, I think we are in the playoffs. Unfortunately, I can't see how we can keep the parts that worked, improve in areas we need, and plug the holes being made through attrition. Well, that was depressing. Sorry
