  1. Couldn’t we agree to a trade before that? The Chiefs just did
  2. Yeah, I want nothing to do with Smith for that kind of money.
  3. I’m kinda happy this happened. Smith is just accepting more of the same. Let’s go big or go home. Trade up or Cousins
  4. Is there confirmation a 2nd was traded for him?
  5. This should be really interesting for a bunch of reasons. I think most would agree that Cousins is better than Smith, but Smith is still a good QB. With that, Smith’s deal should set the floor for the Cousins deal. Also, I’m curious to know what went on behind the scenes to make the Skins think they had to jump on this. They had a decent draft spot and Smith was rumored to be cut for cap reasons. End of the day, it shows what we all know.
  6. He has Jackson graded higher than Mayfield. Am I missing something here? I haven't seen that anywhere else
  7. You're nothing if not consistent. I'm glad to see you can think outside the box. Well done in living up to your reputation
  8. I feel like we are missing a lot of information here. I’m glad to know he wasn’t playing through something diagnosed early in the season that was more threatening and ignored. I thought I read that he planned to retire regardless of this development, but haven’t seen it referenced since. Overall, I there is a mistake and he can play next year. If not, I hope this is the day he wanted and it wasn’t adjusted because of cap reasons. He deserves a good send off
  9. If there were one QB that I wish turned out to be the answer for us, it’s Fitz. He had a great nickname, beard was amazing, embraced the city, and overall opitimozed what it means to be a Buffalo Bill. Also, he went to Harvard if you hadn’t heard. Seeing him at Wood’s press conference today just made me reminisce about the guy and still holds one of the best memories for me when we beat the Pats in Week 3 a few years back. That’s a game we normally lose while Fitz and Freddy stole the show.
  10. Is “spark” a better word? Smith wasn’t doing anything to slam dunk keep the job and Kaep had a few deep balls end electrifying runs.
  11. If we don’t go get a QB, I would be all about trading back from one of our 1sts. Ideally, I’d trade for another first in next years draft. With teams getting their WB this year, we’d have less competition to trade up in next years draft. If not, we will need more picks this draft to build around our lack of QB
  12. Smith wasn’t much in SanFran. Kaep showed as a huge improvement at the time. I do think Smith gets cut due to cap reasons, not traded. However it’s hard for me to see the Chiefs handing over the reigns to a 2nd year rookie after winning the division. On the other hand, we are talking about jettisoning the qb who ended the drought
  13. I’m also curious to see how the AJ McCarron sage unfolds. I think he’s another guy who could be targeted as a starter for someone. I’d be too nervous to pay him what he’d want though with so little film. I really don’t know anything about them. I’ll do my normal YouTube highlights research after FA and look at footwork, hitting guys in stride, the usual. But White did look good yesterday.
  14. I could get behind that draft.
  15. I don’t think Smith is an option either. They aren’t paying Mahomes much, so they can afford both. Would you really use a 2nd round pick on a maybe QB when there are higher probability success choices at other need positions? If I can get a guy who is confident can be a starting DT with my second round pick, I’m taking him over a hopeful QB. I really don’t have an answer besides taking the BPA and seeing what happens. I’m overall hoping the QB’s don’t go 1-5 like that and one of them drops to 5-10 and we can trade up using only 2 picks. I will I’ll say that White kid from the Senior Bowl did look good. Although he had a strange way of stepping up into his throws
  16. With a GM who may not want to give up the farm to trade up and a salary cap space that's needed with a huge amount of UFA's, what's the plan for if we aren't able to snag someone in FA or the draft who can compete for the starting job. Let's just assume that the Bills want in on ALL top QB's available. Cousins could easily go for a price tag outside of where we are willing to go. Two of the three Qb's in Minnesota are likely to be retained, but it's very well possible that we don't land the leftover. If they keep Keenum and Bridgewater, we may not even want Bradford. Then, let's say the Rosen, Mayfield, and Darnold all go in the top 3-5 picks and we couldn't get a deal done to move up. I don't think any of those scenario's are unrealistic at all. So what then? Do we actually keep Tyrod and get someone in the later rounds we hope develops and wait until next year when there is less QB competition? Basically, what would plan C need to include to make you optimistic about our offense next year if we can't land the top 3 guys at QB or FA QB's?
  17. Am I alone in not being a fan of Schobel? Didn’t he basically give up on us? He retired early, but it was more to get away from the Bills as he was open to playing elsewhere. I wouldn’t want him enshrined. Fred and Mooreman are no brainers. I’d nominate JP since he was supposed to be the guy to get us there. No one else really jumps out at me.
  18. No matter what, you have to give SP credit for putting this out here and being right. Has to make you think his other posts could be correct
  19. You’re not wrong, but if it truly is degenerative, then it could be something seen after the fix. He’s just the guy that can’t seem to stay healthy.
  20. Glenn seems like the obvious choice. Maybe his foot is finally diagnosed and it can’t be fixed.
  21. What’s your question for the next person? 1 - First Memory 2 - Favorite Poster and Why 3 - Answer Previous Poster’s Question 4 - Create Question for the next Poster
  22. I don't know if this will be well received or not, but I thought we could celebrate the offseason with a little, get to know you game. You answer three questions. The first two questions don't change, the 3rd question is made by the previous poster. Since I'm going first, I'm going first, I'll have to answer my own. 1 (Same for everyone) - First memory as a Bills fan - I think my first really solid memory was the Bills first Superbowl when I was 10. I wasn't really watching it, but knew my father and sister were really into something. I never really paid attention to football before, so it was tough for me to follow. When the kick went wide right, I could see how pissed my dad was, but it still didn't make a lot of sense as to why. There's a splash of memories for the next season and I was hooked and crying when they lost their 3rd Superbowl. 2 (Same for everyone) - Favorite Poster and Why - As much as he can catch an attitude sometimes, I really do appreciate 26Corner. Some give him crap for copy and pasting links, but that can be a job in itself. In a world of ESPN, Twitter, Rotoworld; I can usually catch news here faster than most of those sites cause the man is on it. He's usually so quick that I almost wonder if he's okay if I post something breaking before he does. I don't know what the man does for a living and he refuses to say, but I really do appreciate how much this site is current. 3 (Random Question for myself) - Why did you choose your username - My parents used to joke with me as a kid that they were going to name me Virgil instead of Derek. I think it was a joke my dad made towards my mom when messing with her around boy names. They used it to play at me and it got out at my school. Kids thought they were making fun of me, but I just owned it. It's since become my gamertag and avatar for everything. 4 - (Question for the next poster) - If you could see the Bills do one specific move this offseason, what would it be? And you can't just say QB. If it's that, how and who.
