He’s the FA WR I want us to bring in. Pry would be a 1 year deal with incentives. If we got him, I’m happy with our WR’s going into the year. I’d still draft Chalk from LSU in the 2nd if he’s there though.

Yes, both are a crap shoot, I agree. But if Foles was the QB you think he is, why was he contemplating retirement before last season and without a job? Why aren’t people jumping at the chance at giving up a 1st rounder? I trust the football people to know their job. Yes though, if you could promise me Playoff Foles, I would give up a first for him without hesitation.

Like I said, he played great in the playoffs. I’m not taking that away from him. But are the last 6 games a representation of who he is as a QB or is his entire career. Also, they said they aren’t trading him for only a second. Of all the FA QB’s, I like Foles the most. His time under Fisher is hard to judge, but he was also left the Eagles for a reason the first time. I like his age, but is up for a new contract next year. What if we can get him for a second and he has a decent, not great year? Are you going to give him the 20+ mil a year he’ll command? There’s a lot of “if’s” and unknowns with him and a lot to give up for that. I’d be happier staying put with our picks and sign him as a FA next year. Build a strong team and then see what happens.

I completely recognize the great job that Keenum, Foles, and Bradford did this past year. I mean, Foles just beat the Patriots in the Superbowl. However, I can't let go of the fact that none of these guys were wanted by any team going into this year. Foles was considering retirement. Bradford was a starter of need after being discarded by the Eagles. And Keenum was also a Texans cast off. All of these guys were given multiple opportunities to start for different teams and could never hold on to the job. So the question is, what's more likely: Did they all of a sudden become quality QB's or were they on strong overall teams where they were almost plug and play? I think these guys all made some great plays in the playoffs and stepped up, but do the last 6 weeks of play offset the rest of their careers? For me, I don't want to give any of these guys the 15-20 mil for 3-5 years they are going to want as I don't think any of them are going to want their standard "journeyman" deals. Yes, I know that Foles would need to be acquired via trade. Overall, besides Cousins, I would rather find my QB via the draft and either keep TT or find another true journeyman. I'd honestly bring back Fitz for the right price. I'm overall worried about letting 6 weeks of performance and a QB Priority league make us overcommit to someone financially who isn't going to give us a huge return on the investment. I'd rather do what the Eagles, Rams, and Vikings did and build the solid team everywhere else, which allows a young/mediocre QB to thrive.

While I feel bad for the kid, I would love to see him drop to the 2nd round for us. It would be an absolute steal.

Why were they trying to dump him?

There some rumors out there that they don’t like any of the QBs with the first pick. If they like anyone else, they have the #4 pick, and could easily trade up to #2. I wouldn’t be surprised to see them trade back with the Jets. I don’t take this as a slight against the QB class until the Browns can prove they can accurate scout talent.

Neither. If we are going to continue to rotate our defensive lineman like we did last year, I don’t want to pay a lot of money to one.

There’s a rumor out there of the Dolphins trading up to get Rosen. Now, I know that everything being reported about the draft right now is pure nonsense and smokescreens. But this did get me thinking. What types of things happening in the draft would make this board blow up? 1 - we trade up to the top 10 and don’t take a QB. And two of the top 4 are still there. 2 - If one of the non-qb needy teams trade up and take a QB. I think everyone would go into panic mode. 3 - if Mayfield, Rosen, or Darnold fall past 10. Everyone will lose their **** about us trading up immediately. I will say this. I do trust that GM’s typically know what they are doing and the McDermott has a long term plan. If any of these happen and we don’t take a QB, then I trust we had good reason.

I think 4 QB’s before 21 is more likely than you think. Rosen, Darnold, Allen, and Mayfield are considered to be tier 1 of the class. The rest are players that some here like and could also pan out, but they are tier 2. The Jets, Browns, Cardinals, Broncos all want QB’s. Minnesota, Giants, and Dolphins are possibilities too. Even with Cousins going to one of those 4 teams, it’s likely that the 4 Tier 1 guys will be gone by 21. Even if that’s someone trading ahead of us at 20 to stop us. I think it’s very possible that we can’t beat the offers of others teams to trade up or they will want to stay for their guy.

This is where I’m pretty much at. I don’t want to do a Ditka trade but I’d love one of the top 3. Which one? That’s above my pay grade. I trust the scout guys to do their job. None of them are slam dunks and have flaws that scare me. I think the Vikings and Eagles showed you can win with a solid team and decent QB play. So for me, I’d rather acquire more picks and really build a strong team if we can’t get our guy. I don’t see any of the non top 3 QBs as being being starters for a few years, so I’d rather take the positions that can be. I don’t think any of these journeyman QB’s are going to take sweetheart deals when the demand is so high for them. So I don’t know who would be cheaper than TT, as much as I’m ready to move on from him. Bottom line, if we run into this season with 5-6 new rookies starters, two 1sts in next years draft, and TT as our starter, I’ll take it. It’s. Not what I want, but it’s my preferred plan B to getting a bonafide starting QB. As for my 22, I couldn’t even begin to tell you. I’m not that guy really. I believe every team is lying about what they want and ever since the NFL changed rookie deals, trades are up and it’s harder to predict. I do see this though: -Raiders will do something head scratching -3 QB’s in top 10, 4 by 15, 5 in the first round -There will be a Bears like trade by someone trying to move up one spot in fear of getting robbed -There will be at least on solid “oh ****” moment where someone drops or someone takes someone we never saw coming.
