Are we expecting a spending spree next year?
Virgil replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would gladly target Barr or Diggs. I don’t see Benjamin generating the numbers to merit a big contract with our current offensive situation. In regards to cap hell, we should be able to easily front load contracts that are easier to get out of. You can spend money efficiently. Being able to go out and get 3 solid FA offensive lineman, maybe a WR, and a OLB would be amazing and shouldn’t offset the chemistry too much. Then still roll some money over to pay White and others when they are due. Good things to come hopefully -
Are we expecting a spending spree next year?
Virgil replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Even if we signed 8 guys to 10 mil deals, where would be put them? If they want to buy a whole new job offensive line (minus RT) and a WR, I’m in. That’s just a lot of money to spend -
With all the dead money coming off the books next year, we will be in fantastic salary cap shape. We don’t really have any major players due for extension. With that being said, is it Beane’s/McDermott’s M.O. to drop a lot of FA’s? That doesn’t feel like it’s part of their process for building a team, but they have made moves (Star, Hyde). Maybe they haven’t so far because they haven’t had the money, I don’t know. I guess I just don’t know what to expect

But then how will they hide behind the anonymity of the internet while also showing how hard they are to everyone else?! You speak in gibberish

What are YOUR expectations if Allen wins the start?
Virgil replied to #34fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ball control. Safe with simple reads. Rely on the run game. Expand over time. Basically what the Steelers did with Big Ben- 117 replies

Stadium Construction Facts & Figures
Virgil replied to corta765's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That was great. I usually skim posts that long, but not this one. I’m torn because I love the Ralph and it’s surrounding neighborhood; that’s what gives it it’s charm to me. I visit other stadiums all the time and it feel completely different when it’s in a city. Personally, I would to see them build a new stadium, but right where the Ralph is. Do what the Yankees did and build it next door. I don’t want a dime or anything else, just give it all the upgrades it needs and keep it as close to the original as possible. -
[Spoilers]Avengers: Infinity War[Spoilers]
Virgil replied to unbillievable's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Gamora is trapped in the soul stone. All the other deaths in the beginning will stick. Captain Marvel has multiple interpretations, but she’s going to serve as Adam Warlock and be able to wield the infinity gauntlet. Thanos killed half of all life he choose, not plants and animals. It’s not like a trickey genie, his will powers it. It’s all a loose interpretation of the books. It ends with him as a farmer like in the source material. The core concept is the same with them crossing up different characters. I agree that killing so many core characters reduces the dramatic effect, because they can’t stay dead. But also, when you create a power weapon that can change time and reality, you knew anything done could be undone. It was about what I expected. No more, no less -

This would be a huge win for us. Would love this. -
I think this is where arm strength is the most important. The coverage windows shrink so much, so getting the ball there quick is huge.

Always thought he was overrated and never liked how he left the team. The fact that he was willing to come out of retirement for other teams, but was done with us. He had no problem spending our money. So yeah, !@#$ him
-
!@#$ Aaron Schobel, Whitner, and Peters. I also agree that you have to remove players that made the playoffs with us last year. I don’t know that I’m not putting Bledsoe at Qb.

Thurmans Jersey to be retired!

I’m not going to look this up, but doesn’t this typically spell doom for us in those games; When we honor major players being retired. -
What did Fitz say about Whaley at the Roast: Redux
Virgil replied to DrDawkinstein's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Loved it. Just a sad reminder of another great guy who just couldn’t get it done. Why oh why Fitz? His joke about sucking after his contract was awesome -
Soul and science testing on Josh Allen
Virgil replied to FTLBillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
After watching EJ ace his sports science breakdown, I can't look at these the same way again. That stupid test made me think EJ was possibly the real deal. Truth is, practice and dudes in your face are two completely different environments. -
Dolphins plan to run no-huddle offense; “13 personnel”
Virgil replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I feel like great coaches with tailored personnel struggle with this offense. Their defense is going to get exhausted -
No one had posted anything about any of the Bills signings in that thread when I posted this. I put this out before 26 added his. I thought that was discussion. When Edmunds and Allen signs, that’s threadworthy to me. If not, a mod can merge.

Henry was impressive for his size and always seemed to fall forward. Unfortunately, he also couldn’t seem to pull out.

Who was better when they arrived in Buffalo
Virgil replied to Buffalo716's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Because you can't have enough options at QB, he was cheap, and we didn't have Allen or were positive we could draft a QB. -

Not saying you are wrong. But he really wasn't expected to come in and be the starter.
