I think many are missing the boat here with regards to Lamar. He's not a dynamic passer and processor of defenses. He's likely a below average passer. His skill set is using his legs and improvising. He's second to none here. It's a matter of preference. To imply Lamar sucks or is a poor QB is ridiculous. -

Short and speed vs Long and no separation. The Bills made their pick. -

Chiefs at home. They seem to be more dangerous on offense with an improved WR core. I think we are seeing a team similar to the Pats with Brady. They have a good chance to 3 peat. Not sure about waltzing into a Lombardi trophy though. I will say I don't think the Bills present much of an obstacle to the Chiefs path forward. -
Good story. I guess it's hard for some to stay humble when they become a star sort of speak. Forgot about him.

Patrick Kane is #1. Jimmy Arias was pretty good too. She represents the Bills well. I've heard her on several occasions giving them their props.

Great game plan and execution by Jessie. She deserved the win. Really solid tennis under big game conditions. Rock solid and she has a nice draw in the semifinals. She has a helluva chance to move into the finals. Happy for her.

Week 1, Cards v. Bills - Predict the Score
newcam2012 replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall
Bills 31 Cards 27. High scoring affair. Bills defense struggles with Murray's legs and McBride at TE. Bills offense gets in rhythm with a balanced run and pass game. Bills squeek out a win despite Bass missing 2 FGs. Not pretty but a win is a win. -
How big of a concern is the Safety position?

I agree with this viewpoint. -
Receivers the Bills could go after?
newcam2012 replied to Desert Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Very well said. I'm hopeful that a WR or 2e roster surprises us. However, I'm not sure how any Bills fan can be happy about what the Bills have on the WR roster. -
Now that the 53 is set, predict the Bills win total
newcam2012 replied to Cash's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think the McD culture theme is growing old and has run its course. He's proven to be ineffective and falls short when it really counts. Refer to the last two years of home playoff exits. This team needs some nasty in the locker room. Replace the clapping with some ankle biting. Diggs just wanted to win. He wore that on his sleeve. I didn't see it as an ego thing. Him wanting out should raise the alarms. Jockeys don't take themselves off the winning horses. -

Factor in the Bills have a FG kicker that's more likely to lose games than win them. Solid post here and nice breakdown. -

It does have some validity. It's pretty crazy that the Bills management and coaches are more run dependent with Allen at the helm. Do get me wrong, the run game is an important aspect to an offense. However, this strategy of running more is likely a losing recipe in today's modern day football. I'd rather be more pass dependent and ride Allen's arm. Instead, I would have dramatically tried to upgrade the WR room. Have the Bills really done that? IMHO, they haven't. Beane's tried to piece meal the WR core for several years with little success. Last year, was very telling to the negative. To note, Diggs wanted out and the salary extension proved to be a colossal mistake. To the tune of 30M cap hit. Severely hampering the Bills ability to improve the roster. That's on Beane folks. Samuel is decent but not elite or special, Hollins is a jag, Shakir will now see top CBs, and Coleman is young, raw, and has separation concerns. Kincaid looks like a bright spot. I predict the Bills to win 9 games. Some will see the season as successful while others won't. -
Week 1 - Cardinals at Bills - Game Week Thread
newcam2012 replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
I am expecting a hard fought game with the Bills winning. I really don't think it's an easy win for the Bills. Why? The Bills are a team with many new additions, younger players, young coordinators, and it's the first game of the season. I'm not expecting a finely tuned game from either team. Allen, the home field advantage, and the suspect Cardinal defense should path the way to a Bills win. However, I can see the Cardinals moving the ball well on offense. A healthy Murray can be dangerous especially with his legs. Harrison in his first game could be a wild card. McBride is a solid option for Murray. Does a healthy Conner find running holes and make big plays on the screen game? I think the Bills pull away and go up two scores in the 4th quarter. I can't help but reflect back on the home opener vs Pittsburgh. A repeat of that would be a gut punch. A win and no serious injuries would be ideal. I'm not looking for style points for this game. -
I'd do it in a heartbeat!
-
I think the oline will be pretty solid. Top 10 for sure and top 5 is realistic. Kromer is an excellent coach and some young guys look very promising. I think they will be solid in both the run and pass game. Personally, I think the oline will be one of the strengths of the team. I can see a balanced offense attack that keeps defenses guessing. On a side note, I am going to keep a close eye on Torrence. He started out solid and I believe tailed off the latter part of the season.
-
I think this is best case scenario. Hope you are right. As for myself, I am not as optimistic. There are so many young guys that need to perform well. I do like the direction of getting younger and faster while being cap friendly. However, there will be growing pains for sure. I am very critical of the coaching staff come playoff time. I'm not totally sold on the jets because Rodgers is a wildcard for me. He's older and coming off a serious injury. I don't think he's close to being MVP Rodgers. However, their defense looks legit. A decent serviceable Rodgers may be enough. Their losing culture is an uphill battle for sure. Miami looks to be a real contender for the division. Their weapons and speed are one of the best in the league. Tua was able to stay healthy and looks more than serviceable in Daniel's system. I think they have a legit chance to win the division. This season should be very interesting. A healthy Allen puts the Bills right there for the division title. Slight favorites to win the division. I can't argue with that rational. I waiver between 9 to 11 wins for the Bills. I can totally see them making a playoff run or just missing out on the playoffs. A super bowl appearance looks dimmer now then last few years. That is a bit disheartening but hope is always there. Go Bills!!!
-
Agree. I'd add it's a myriad of circumstances that you have pointed out. There are so many variables known, unknown, expected, and unexpected. Injuries have been at the fore front of the negative results. Hate to sound like I'm making excuses but damn the injury bug for Buffalo has been huge. Yet, Mahomes can win it all on one leg. So frustrating. I think last year's oline was very good. Dare I say a strength of the team. I expect them to be above average this year. I have some reservations about the Bills pass rush. The familiar names need to really improve and perform on the big stage. A glimpse of old Von would be refreshing. In short, this season shapes up to be an interesting one. Seems like league expectations of the Bills are still high but they've come down a bit. We fans will always be loyal.
-
That's definitely an issue. However, I think it's more than just a pass rush. Coaching, game planning, execution, game time adjustments, and a belief in winning are some other pertinent concerns. I'm mean look at last year's playoff game. We fans have been begging for a home playoff game vs the Chiefs. We finally got our wish only to be disappointed again. The chiefs certainly seemed ripe for the taking. Truthfully, I'm not sure what it will take for the Bills to beat KC.
-
That's fair. I do think the offensive game plan was solid. I'm not in agreement with the criticism I've heard with regards to Brady. Overall, the game plan was solid. The oline was great in the first half pushing around their Dline. Adjustments were made by Spags. He added another guy on the box and did some run blitzing. It definitely hurt the Bills run game. The Bills offense didn't punish the Chiefs enough for committing to stop the run. The Bills receivers couldn't separate enough on their talented secondary. Brady took some deep shots and the Bills WRs missed very catchable balls. Probably, the difference in the game. Didn't finish out the final drive. I hated the first down run. I thought they should have rolled out Allen and used him as a duel threat. Either run it or pass it. I think Josh would have been unstoppable. Wondering if the Bills thought they were in 4 down territory? Because the playing calling didn't seem to bare that out. I would have tried to at least get to a 4th and 2 or 3. Didn't seem like they were in 4 down mode. Maybe I'm wrong. Ideally, another first down was needed. Take the clock down to less than 13 seconds (just kidding). Burn it as much as possible and get that TD. A first down would have done that I believe. I know easier said then done. The offensive game plan was fine. The combo of the Bills lack of WRs talent and the elite secondary of the Chiefs proved detrimental. On defense, I'm not sure what McD was doing? They had a difficult time stopping the Chiefs. They didn't punt for an awful long time. To their credit they made a huge stop to get the Bills the ball. All in all, the Bills coaching wasn't bad at all. However, it just felt like the Bills players and coaching were a dollar short sort of speak. Like it was unlikely the Bills could pull it out. Perhaps, it's me and my mindset. Just feels like this regime always falls short. Really sucks. I think about the Kelly days in the 90s. I know different team, different era, and different players. But I remember when Kelly had that ball for the final drive it was money. Same with Brady, Burrow, and Mahomes. With Allen, I'm less confident. More hopeful than I should be. I ask myself why? It's not because of the lack of talent from Allen. It's because of the lack of talent around him with includes coaching. The belief isn't there for me. I think that's where McD falls woefully short. I'm not so sure he believes. His presser sure gives indications of doubt. He has fallen far too short too many times come playoff time. Absolutely, why I'm advocating change. Others, like yourself haven't seen enough I suppose.
-
Oh it will put you on lots of Bills fans poop list. I've been advocating cutting ties with McD long before many have. It's just recently people are seeing what I already saw. Not that I'm smarter than anyone. Sometimes the blind squirrel finds the nut. OMG that is very witty. Thanks for the laugh.
-
How can you say that after 13 seconds? The Cinci thrashing where the team wasn't prepared, terrible game plan, and out coached? There are probably at least 10 significant reasons why would could reasonable conclude McD isn't the guy. I'm talking about post season and an eventually SB. Besides optimism I don't know what McD supporters could point to for evidence to support their thinking? I'm having trouble understanding your perspective. Does it take more than 4 to rush the passer? Mahomes didn't even get a scratch on him.
-
That's a fair point of view. I disagree with it but it's fair. There is ample evidence to think McD can't get us there. Of course, no one can predict what will happen. But one just can't ignore the facts. Also, I'm not afraid of a coaching change. I think it's flawed to think another coach wouldn't be as successful.
