  1. Something tells me he wouldn't be nearly as effective in a soft Fraizer defense.
  2. He's a winner. Would you rather have a high character guy that loves to clap?
  3. Can you imagine the Bills have his defense. Allen would get massacred.
  4. Game is getting out of hand fast. Eagles will get the ball on the fumble.
  5. Big error by the refs and even bigger by Shannahan for not challenging.
  6. I think I made a worthwhile contribution. Go ahead and read my post. It's a little long though. Why is it a garbage thread?
  7. No panic here whatsoever. Just a breath of reality here. The Bills do have a lot of holes and your take mentions them. You properly admit the cap space limitations and no premium picks. That's called being handcuffed. Based on past drafts and acquisitions why would you have confidence that this organization will get it right? You have pounded the table for years about the oline. Three years and counting. The Oline still isn't good which has been a consistent theme for years. But heck, this is the year they will get it right despite the above mentioned circumstances. Based on this logic, I have some land to sell you if you are interested. When have the Bills coached up their players. Isn't that what many have said about Kormer? The Oline is going to be solid because he will coach them up. How's that working out? How have the dline guys been coached up? The coaching staff especially the coordinators are the weak spot of the team. Dorsey and Fraizer were abused vs Cinci. Coach McD will not lead this team to the Superbowl with this supporting cast. I agrue after next season's disappointment McD and Beane will stay aboard and blame the failure ob Dorsey and Fraizer. They will be the fall guys.
  8. Totally agree with your take. It's easier to criticize after the fact. Nevertheles, your point is valid and spot on. The Bills have failed to adequately solidify the offensive line. A critical error which has been a major reason why the Bills can't get over the hump. It's football 101 to have a strong Oline. Look at the Chiefs for a prime example. Reid built up that line very quickly. Mahomes lost Hill and has average Joe WRs. He's still elite and productive because of his Oline. They advance to the Championship game with a much worse defense than the Bills. The primary difference is their Oline and pass rush. The Bills have whiffed on Ford and Stafford was a poor pick up. Not to mention the neglect of drafting available Olinemen. Brown is an unknown and a work in progress. Mostly he's a liability and not reliable. The draft picks on the Dline have been flat out bad. Big misses on premium draft picks. Eventually, a team's failure to draft adequately and strengthen its weaknesses leads to negative consequences. Those are magnified in the playoffs vs elite teams. Make no mistake about it that's exactly what we saw on Sunday vs the Bengals. Fast forward to now and the Bills are handcuffed by the cap. Beane is fantastic at getting creative and manipulating the cap. However, he can only do so much. He pretty much admitted it in his presser. Beane gave fans a lot of excuses which some had validity. He pounded the table on how the current players will improve their play. I'm not convinced they will. I'm convinced the Bills will suffer injuries next year. That's just the nature of the business. Will the excuses begin again? Imho, the Beane, McD, Fraizer, and Dorsey combination is losing its steam. Losing its mojo sort of speak. Very clear with its playoff failures. Seems like they can build a winning culture and excell in the regular season. However, they have failed for 6 years straight to get over the hump. The last 2 years has absolutely been disappointing. This team hasn't even competed in a AFC championship game. I don't see a likely path where this changes. Running it back with the status quo seems like a losing recipe.
  9. I wasn't that high on Allen to be honest. Beane and the scouting staff hit a grand slam. That pick transformed the Bills into a winning team and playoff contender for years. Hopefully it leads to a Super Bowl win.
  10. I agree. I think the Beane and company are much better drafting in the later rounds. Not sure why.
  11. If the Bills had Bernard as their BPA then they are seriously flawed and perhaps clueless. By most experts boards Bernard was projected to go somewhere in the 5th round. I remember so many pounding the table for Parham.
  12. It depends on your expectations of the team. If you are fine with a good regular season record and playoff appearances then this current regime should remain intact. If you want Super Bowl appearances and a Lombardi Trophy it's unlikely to happen with this regime. Fraizer's has shown time after time his defense is not good enough in the playoffs. I see nothing that gives me optimism in Fraizer's D. Imho, it's time for a defensive change. Dorsey is very raw and learning on the job. Not ideal when you are chasing the elusive ring. Hard to know how he will develop as an OC. We have a one year sample that has mixed results at best. For the most part, I think Allen and his raw talent bailed him out and hid Dorsey's short comings. I saw a Dorsey offense that lacked motion and creative plays, inconsistent game plan, lack of identity, and didn't utilize all his player's skill sets. I suppose he deserves another year to improve. Josh and him seem to be pretty close. With that said, it's difficult for me to get excited about having Dorsey back. I feel like it more like wait and see with rather than excitement to see his dynamic offensive schemes. Not ideal... Lastly, let's talk about Coach McD. Hard not to like his character. Outstanding man who has built a high character team, a winning culture, and represents and wears Buffalo on his sleeve. Would really be hard pressed to find such a high caliber person to coach this team. For years, I was a big McD fan. His players respect and play hard for him. His knack for saying and doing the right things on and off the field. Slowly turning the team into a winning machine. Playoff after playoff appearance. I thought it's only a matter of time before this team accomplishes what the team of the 90s couldn't do. Then 13 seconds happened and my mindset changed. I grew angry at the coaching staff and more specifically McD. I hold him ultimately responsible for that colossal blunder. His response afterwards left many Bills fans empty. As time passed the emotions of anger turned into sadness. Sadness turned into forgiveness. Forgiveness turned into hope. The Bills were the talk of the NFL. Super Bowl favorites. This was clearly going to be the year!!!. We know the rest as I digress. I see the good and not so good with Coach MCD. For me, McD has probably earned at least another year to coach the Bills. Not sure anyone else out there can lead the team to the ultimate goal. However, I have some serious doubt McD can succeed. So far, he's really come up short. The last 2 years have been quite disappointing in the playoffs. Running it back with these three coaching just seems very uninspiring and uncreative. Especially, after the pounding they received from Cinci in Buffalo. Just my two cents.
  13. It's likely he gets paid by the Bills. Certainly, based on his previous years play he doesn't deserve it. This year he was well above average. His best season by far. One of the bright spots on the D. If we get that kind of guy or better he's probably worth it. I just don't like that he isn't a big play guy. By that I mean getting huge sacks and timely INTs. He's solid, not flashy, and a lot of what he does goes unnoticed. I'm on the fence with him but leaning towards signing him.
  14. They drafted LB Bernard in the 3rd round. Maybe he's the replacement? The organization is investing in the younger guys and projecting them to learn and play better. So maybe Bernard is next man up.
  15. Not a huge fan of Edmunds. Beane actually is and all his comments indicate he will give Edmunds the big money. Edmunds actually played well this year. You could actually see the significant drop off when he wasn't in the line up. However, was this more of a one hot season due to his contract year? His previous years weren't nearly as productive. I think his signing or not signing will tell us what direction the team wants to go. Sign him and solidify the defense. Create a hole get a stop gap LB and put the money towards the offense. I think they will resign Edmunds.
  16. Well said Simon. That's best case scenario. Gonna be hard to find that blue chip starting RT though.
  17. Starting OL PFF Grades: D. Dawkins: 73.5 R. Saffold: 43.7 M. Morse: 61.4 R. Bates: 61.8 S. Brown: 51.4 I think the Bills have some big holes to fill.
  18. Depends on your perspective and expectations. The Bills looked good statistically with regards to the regular season. They won 13 games and the AFC East title. Certainly there's a positive. They are a good team. The playoffs were a much different story. The Bills were very fortunate to beat the Dolphins. We know the Cinci story. To say the Bills fell short is a vast understatement. The way they lost should open up everyone's eyes. Did you hear a solid plan from Beane or McD? My take is they are running it back with the same coaches and hoping for a healthy return of players while others improve. What did you hear? Are you are ok with nice regular season? A nice record and early playoff exits? That exactly what this regime has given us. Six years ago that was more than acceptable. Fast forward to today and I think its safe to say the standards have changed. Now is the time to seriously question whether the Beane McD regime has run its course. I believe they have earned another shot but my confidence they can progress is dwindling.
  19. That's another way to look at it. Certainly valid points. What's really concerning is the ease and dominance that Cinci beat the Bills in their own building. Hard to overlook, minimize, or excuse that despite the injuries you have mentioned. It was very clear the Bills didn't belong on the same field with the Bengals. Was it lack of talent? Surely that's part of it. Secondly, it's hard to swallow how out coached and out schemed the Bills coaching staff was. To this day, I have no idea what they did differently from that Monday night game. They learned nothing from the Bengals two dominate drives? To put it bluntly, Fraizer and Dorsey got taken to the woodshed. Coach McD had no answers, a poor game plan, and little effective game time adjustments. The coaching staff equally lost this game. That really shouldn't be erased, acceptable, or diminished. Yet, Beane comes out and says he's not placing too much emphasis on one game. Go back and look what he's said in previous end of season pressers. He has repeatedly stated you are as good as your last game. That game will tell you what your weaknesses are and where you need to improve. Talk about a 180? How can we fans feel confident with such a glaring contradiction?
  20. Great point. I think it is too much for the coaching staff to do so. They have little creative ability on defense. They go back to their standard defense for the most part. They have lacked the ability to have game plan that takes away their opponents strengths. This is one of the major reasons why serious change is needed.
  21. The Bills are going into next season with Spencer Brown at RT. He has underwhemled at that position since he's been there. Certainly, a big question mark going into next season. The Bills are going into next season hoping he improves. That's not an ideal situation. Seems like that's the theme of next season with several guys. That mindset certainly hurt the Bills passing game this year as Gabe, McKenzie, and Shakir underperformed for various reasons.
  22. What is this coaching regime going to do differently? How are they going to improve? You know what you are getting in Fraizer. Nice stats for the regular season. A false sense that the defense is good due to the stats. Come playoff time his defense will fold like a cheap suit. Dorsey doesn't inspire me as being the answer. He was so predictable, uncreative, and outclassed. Another year of on the job training. Coach McD is a high character guy. Hard not to like him as a person. He has built a close knit team that plays hard for him. However, in recent years Coach McD has been out coached and out classed. His game plans have been suspect and his in game adjustments are near non existent. Add it all up and this coaching regime will fall short next year too. The Bills organization needs new blood, positive scheme changes on defense and offense. Most importantly better players. Beane gave us nothing but excuses and false hopes. The same goes for what Fraizer and Dorsey offer. The Bills are on the decline. Miami might be better than the Bills, the Jets with a viable QB might be too. The Jags, Chargers, Balt, Pitt, etc will be formidable as well. My expectations of this team are fairly low. I'd say one and done in the playoffs to possibly not making them at all.
  23. I think what's more realistic is Diggs could be a problem if the teams is losing. He the ultimate competitor. He has a temper and wears his feelings on his sleeve. I can see him calling out players and coaches. McD calmed him down once but I'm not sure he gets another chance. It's something to watch in the future. The coaches could very well hear grumbling if things go south.
  24. I agree 100%. Almost feels like the organization has thrown in the towel sort of speak. Very unlikely this team sniffs the Super Bowl. Do you really think the team won't have significant injuries next year? That's just not realistic. I'm saddened and frustrated that this Bills organization thinks this group of coaches with its players can compete for a Super Bowl. I'm not buying it one bit but I know so many on here will.
  25. Agree but Kromer's oline didn't look very good throughout most of the season. For some guy who is supposed to be the best oline coach around it was a disappointing performance.
