  1. Mostly true. Look at how the Eagles went after free agents to build around Hurts. Look how their players on both sides of the ball dominate the line of scrimmage. What did the Bills do to help out Allen? How successful have they been? Why hasn't the team advanced further? These are serious questions the whole organization needs to answer and look at. There is no accountability here. Many seem satisfied with the playoff appearances. It feels like we the fans are being placated. We deserve more and should have received more! This team frankly should have represented the AFC in the Super Bowl. It's a failure of Beane and the coaching staff to get it done. Now, the opportunity is slimmer because of Allen's contract and the cap issues. Missed opportunities...
  2. Come on now stop embarrassing yourself. Your argument is feeble, weak, and unsubstantiated by last year's odds. Need I remind you of the Bills odds throughout last season? Take off that homerism hat and see what's happening to this team. It's a slow progression towards being a very good team not an elite Super Bowl team. The Bills organization is handicapped by the cap, pending contracts, and a faltering coaching staff. We fans are left with hope, promises, and luck. I'd rather rely on talent and great coaching. Thus far, it's six years of an elite QB and counting. Coming up empty the last two years have been pretty demoralizing. What's gonna change this year to get the team over the hump?
  3. Agree 100%. Miami gave the Bills all they could handle in all three games they played. The Jets and Pats are solid and need QBs. The Bills are probably no longer a dominate team in the AFC East. Sure they are favored mainly because of Allen. After last year, it's pretty clear every team likely believes they have a legit chance to win the division. I don't think you could say that prior to last season. Imho, the Bills are no longer a feared team. The psychological edge is gone. Well I did win some betting Cinci. Easiest money I've ever collected. It was bitter sweet. I have to see the development of the QB situations in Miami and the Jets. I think either team has a legit chance to knock off the overrated Bills.
  4. The Bills might not even be favorites to win the AFC east division. Miami and the Jets have closed the gap. Might even be better. Allen is the big difference that still gives a slight edge to the Bills
  5. Depends on what you mean by bust. Allen had a huge ceiling but an equally low floor. He was raw, unpolished, and most importantly his accuracy numbers were sub par. Allen's progression of accuracy is more of an anomaly than the norm. No one ever questioned his physical talent. That was clear as day.
  6. The Allen pick saved the franchise. It's the major reason why the Bills have made so many straight playoff appearances. Without Allen, the Bills team would have been stuck in mediocrity. You have to give Beane and McD credit for Allen. It was no easy choice and it came with lots of risk. It worked out and they have set this franchise up for 15 years of success. Beane and McD also deserve credit for building a culture and building up a franchise that was entangled in decades of disappointment and losing. I think the above two mentioned paragraphs clouds how we fans think of Beane and McD. On one hand, they built a winner and found the highly sought after franchise QB. They have built a winning team that has made I believe six straight playoff appearances. A feat to be proud of. Football sure has been much much more fun for Buffalo fans. However, Beane and McD have failed to make the next jump. Failed to get over the hump. Failed to get to the ultimate goal. It feels like it's starting to slip away...The team seems to lack an identity on offense. On defense, the team just cannot preform at a high level when it counts. The coaching staff looks vulnerable. The schemes look less than dynamic. I was high and optimistic going into last season. I can't say the same about next year. 😞😞😞
  7. You think Jones is available at 27?
  8. I agree with this logic. I concede that you are correct.
  9. Fantastic information, rebuttal, and input. 👍 Blowing it up certainly doesn't seem prudent. I'm not advocating that at all. However, change certainly seems needed! More specifically, the Bills need to move on from Fraizer and tweek their defense. Imho, a Fraizer led defense just won't get it done in the playoffs. How can someone think otherwise? Does Dorsey deserve another opportunity? I didn't see anything in Dorsey that screamed elite or special. He was clearly learning on the job. I think that will continue next year too. To be frank, he seemed a bit over his head. In short, Dorsey's play calling and schemes limited the offense. The time to win is now and Dorsey inhibits that process. The Bills can do much better than Dorsey. Who knows if Frank Reich was available. The Bills organization can most certainly make coaching moves. They are staying put which doesn't instill confidence going forward. Not sure how this is a winning strategy to hoist the Lombardi trophy? Refer to the last two years as a reference. Beane is a master of manipulating the cap and numbers. He is clearly handcuffed and limited in his options. In a nutshell, he admitted it in his press conference. Him pointing out Cinci and the Burrow salary situation was strange. A media member should have confronted him on why the Bills team wasn't successful when Allen was on his rookie contract. Sully certainly would have. The writing is on the wall. The Bills organization is out of optimal moves. The logical step is to run it back, hope for player development, limited injuries, meaningful draft picks, and timely contributing free agents. Who knows how successful that will play out? My feeling is it's a pretty unrealistic path to win it all. I am tempering my expectations next year.
  10. I'm not in totally agreement with that. I think its partly true. The other part is his reputation and general dislike by Bills fans, players, and management. I think it was all factored in. He wasn't given the benefit of the doubt that's for sure.
  11. Tagging him seems risky. You seem to have more knowledge in this area. What do you think?
  12. Let him walk. I stand corrected. Thanks.
  13. I'm leaning towards letting Edmunds walk or trade him. Look at the guys body of work. He had one good year out of 5 which so happens to be a contract year. Sure it could be argued he's developed and gotten better. The guy just isn't dynamic. He's not a player maker or a game changer. By no means is he horrible. He is the best that the Bills have and a hole will exist if he's gone. However, the guy is absolutely replaceable. The Fraizer/McD defense thus far can't get it done in the playoffs. That includes Edmunds. Just the sad facts. I hope the Bills go after a guy like Pratt from Cinci who might be available. In short, I want the Bills to go into a different direction. Concentrate primarily on the offense. No need to invest in Edmunds in this defense. We see what this D does in the playoffs. Surround Allen with a great Oline and more weapons. Let Allen cook and win the game. He is that good. This gives the Bills the best chance to win. I'm tired of this organization primarily concentrating on the defense which inevitably fails short. Time for a change in philosophy. That's why I advocate for coaching changes. Beane, McD, and Fraizer are stuck in mud. The media and fans need to continually bang the drum until they can see their ways aren't working. Unless you are satisfied with nice season records and early playoff outs.
  14. I don't support his comments. Obviously, he should have received some sort of discipline for his reckless comments. Imho, his comments shouldn't have resulted in his termination. An apology and a suspension would have been sufficient. I believe the Buffalo media is very soft. They rarely press players or coaches. Look at the 13 second disaster for an example. The entire coaching staff was treated with kid gloves and allowed to escape unscathed. No accountability! Only in Buffalo. Say what you want about Jerry. He was tough and asked tough questions. I like that! I don't like a media that bows down to its players and coaches especially when they make horrible decisions. I miss Sully...
  15. That last paragraph is 100% spot on. The Buffalo media treats Beane with kid gloves. His presser was a great example of that. If he were in Philly he would have been verbally assaulted off the stage. The one media guy (Sullivan) who was confrontational was run out of the building. The fans are mostly satisfied with playoff births and great seasonal records. Heck, its way way better than the past. Maybe next year will be the year mentality sets in. Bills coaches feel very less pressure to win then most other teams. At least that's my opinion. Coach McD has instilled a high character team. Football isn't his everything like Belicheck or Brady. Right or wrong I think the team is soft in many ways. We clearly saw that vs Cinci and in many ways the Miami game too. I don't see this team being better next year. I don't see the coaching staff making significant changes to improve.
  16. Oh I agree his seat is cold. I'd agrue that his seat should start getting warmer if this team doesn't progress. McD has had 6 years of Allen who is arguably one of the top 3 QBs in the league. The Bills led by McD have failed to progress deep into the playoffs. Arguably, Coach McD blew that chance in 13 seconds vs KC. Hate to bring that up but I think it carries validity. This year his team was flat, unprepared, and laid an egg vs Cinci in a huge home field playoff game. Excuses or not much should fall on the coach. Let's look at KC and Philly for examples since both are in the Super Bowl. KC built up their Oline almost immediately and protected their elite QB. Bingo a Super Bowl win and likely more to follow. Philly drafted young QB and surrounded him with excellent weapons and an elite defense. Bingo a Hurts Super Bowl appearance in year three. The Bills have floundered their opportunities to advance. They have squandered their opportunities to improve. Thus, they can't overcome injuries. They have glaring weaknesses in the trenches and at WR. Not sure how fans no matter how optimistic you are can't see this organization is not elite. The wait til next year mentality isn't working. The injury excuse isn't working. The players will develop excuse isn't working. The cap space issues. That's what they are selling us fans. Listen to Beane's presser. He pretty much summarizes that. I just can't and won't accept that. Yet, this organization is going to run it back. How can Bills fans be satisfied with that? Changes, schemes, philosophy, attitude, etc... have to be made. Teams like KC and Cinci have passed the Bills. Other teams are right there or better. It's time for the organization to get aggressive and assertive not passive. Running it back is passive. Now is not the time for fans to be complacent. Are you satisfied with nice regular season records? Making playoff appearances only to exit early? Perhaps many are based on the previous Bills history. As for myself, I want at least a Super Bowl appearance and than a Super Bowl win. Currently, the direction of this team makes that feat distant and unlikely. For that reason, all the coache's seats including McD shouldn't be ice cold!
  17. I agree. I think this year is crucial for the coaching staff. If things go sour, I can totally see the players like Diggs expressing his dissatisfaction. It could be the start of turmoil. McD will be on the hot sear but likely be safe. The scapegoats will be Frazier and Dorsey.
  18. Looking back at the Oliver pick. It was a fairly big risk solely on his size. I myself was intrigued by his athleticism and liked the pick. However, his size measurables are in the bottom tier in every category. Drafting is about accessing risks and this probably should have gotten the Bills off of Oliver. I mean how many dominant Dline players are 6'1" or 6'2" 285? I can't think of any but im sure there are a few. Of course it's easier to criticize after the fact.
  19. Very impressive post. In depth, integrated, conclusive, and analytic. Really appreciate such knowledgeable posts like this. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
  20. I hear you. I think the Dolphins will ride Tua until he's incapacitated. That hopefully won't happen. They just want to win and their actions showed that vs the Bills.
  21. I think the Bills organization has let down Allen and it's fans. They have clearly failed to provide adequate protection and dangerous weapons for theor elite QB. They have mostly missed on drafting solid offensive pieces. Some could argue rhey neglected it with a heavy concentration on the defense side of the ball. They have failed to produce in the playoffs. Look at what KC did. Mahomes wins Super Bowl quickly and appears in another. Eagles with Hurts makes Super Bowl in his 3rd year. Allen in 6 years has no appearances. That says it all folks. You have you answer..
  22. What is your Bills prediction?
  23. Tua proved he is pretty good. The team chemistry with him aboard is at another level. His skill set is limited but his leadership, grit, and ability to win is above average. Of course can he stay healthy.
  24. Agree mostly but the last paragraph is pretty harsh. I think I the window is slowly closing and not shut. Allen with a tiny bit of help can take the team to the playoffs. Many will still see this as a success especially after the past Bills teams. The team doesn't need to rebuild since they are still a top tier team. However, they need more than a tweek as some have suggested. Big upgrades needed on the lines and at WR. Expectations of this team should be tempered. The thoughts of a Super Bowl run next year should be an afterthought. The Bills desperately need new blood and changes in the coaching staff and schemes. Fraizer needs to go, Dorsey needs to show more, McD has to prove he can get over the hump. Beane has to show he can win it all not just have successful regular seasons.
