Agree. I just don't think McD gets that because of his defensive background. -

I'm fine if they don't make a defensive pick the whole draft. I'm tired of Allen running for his life, not having a consistent run game, and having WRs that can't separate. Which would you chose? Give Allen weapons and protection to excell or put more money and draft picks into a defense that whiffs in the playoffs. -
I'd say get ready to address the situation next year. History has a way of repeating itself. McD blew it 2 years ago in 13 seconds, 3 years ago he got schooled by KC, and this year his team led by him laid an egg at home vs Cinci. How many on here were pounding the drum that the Bills would beat Cinci? You know who you are. I'd say 90% of the people here had that mindset. Afterwards, it's a switch from winning to an excuse of a tough season. What's next year's excuse? It's clear that this team hasn't gotten over the hump. Many reasons for that. You pick which one. Until this team and organization shows me something different I'm inclined to think similar results will occur. Please no Super Bowl talk next year.

Agree but you have to realize that McD is a defensive guy. His mindset, focus, and much attention has been geared towards the defense. I believe McD is very hands on. I think him and Fraizer are 100% on the same page. I'd agrue that's why Fraizer is still the DC. This pairing really needs to be broken up. Problem is the regular season stats looks good to great. The McD/ Fraizer D is a nice one for regular season games. Solid against middling teams. We know how it is during the playoffs. The same can't be said. The Bills almost got beat by a horrible 3rd string QB. Then Cinci O annihilated the Bills D. Same in KC the previous year. The Bills just can't do the same thing. It's not working in the playoffs. The best analogy I can give is think James Harden. Yet, the Bills are running it back with Fraizer/McD. I'm not enthusiastic about that.

Agree. I'm thinking Oliver has some decent trade value. He was a top ten pick and has decent production. I'm sure a team would think they can get more out of him than the Bills. Davis I'm not really sure about. His numbers do fall into many WR #2 on other teams. The numbers aren't the whole story with Gabe. I can't help but think how good Davis would be on a Andy Reid offense or even the Jags. I guess you have to ask what's the value of both guys on the team and what's the return. Oliver would certainly create a hole that needs to be filled. Honestly, I'm at the point where I'm ok with it. Same with Edmunds. This D doesn't so up in the playoffs so why bother. Both Edmunds and Oliver did nothing in that Cinci game. Fraizer should be gone but that's another topic. I'd get rid of them get some something and allocate that money to the offense. Davis is a pretty poor number two receiver. If they Bills can land a legit reliable number 2 then Davis probably can be more effective as a secondary weapon. There is a lot to ponder for Beane. It will be interesting to see what kind of angle of attack they have. Their moves will be crucial for the upcoming season.

Trade Davis and get some draft picks. The guy had 93 targets and caught 48 of them. He was pretty bad last year. The eye ball test is all you really need here. Obviously, the Bills need better from their #2WR. Next year Davis is going to want to get paid. Some team will pay him. The Bills shouldn't.

It's likely he's a little upset and maybe a bit bitter that the Bills are likely not to sign him. The guy left it all on the field blood, guts, bones, and heart. He was a leader led by example. No way you can't relate to Poyer. He gave it his all every play every down. As a fan, I couldn't ask for anything more. Imho, he epitomizes what it means to be a Bill. I'll miss Poyer. The business side of football sure can be be ugly and heartless.

I had my doubts when he was drafted. I'm sure I wasn't the only one. At one point at thought he was regressing and I was wrong. Never been so happy to be incorrect. At this point, I think it's safe to say he's at least a top 5 QB and probably top 3. There are years of a sample size to say he's a franchise QB. What's not to love about that. He's the glue to the franchise. As a Bills fan, I don't know how you can't have respect and admiration for Allen. For the record, I've never been a Allen hater. Skeptical indeed but never a hater. Big difference.

Great post! Wish I could buy you your favorite beverage. I couldn't agree more with what you said. My sentiments almost word for word.

That's very debatable. Also, two different teams and Allen is still young in his career. Pretty bold statement when Kelly is sitting in the hall of fame. I love Allen but truthfully he woefully falls short of Kelly. In fairness, it's not his fault because he has dog pop for an oline and limited weapons. This has been the case for several years now. Until Allen can win a Super Bowl in my eyes he's no Kelly.
-
I agree. He's too young to give up on. He has a lot of upside with some legit excuses. They do need a back up plan in case he doesn't develop. Last year he hurt the team. I don't think the team can afford that kind of play next year. I'm no football guru. I do know it's very difficult to win with a bad oline. Just wondering why Beane and McD can't figure it out. They have been negligent and incompetent in successfully building a good oline.
-
Absolutely. I would have loved to see him come to Buffalo. Change up the scheme and utilize the players to their max. Instead, we have. Fraizer led defense with a failed scheme come playoff time. Fans here will point to the regular season stats and be fooled that the defense is above average to great. History has a way to repeat itself. I agree with you there. Point being, I don't think Poyer chooses a team that doesn't have a solid path to compete for a Lombardi Trophy. I believe he sees Miami as a team that's on the cusp of something special. Or at the very least a team that can compete and beat the Bills for the division.

Very nice reply. We are on the same page. -
I hear all this great stuff about Kromer. I've yet to see his supposed magic happen. It is possible he's getting too much credit. I thought the blocking schemes were pretty bad last year. Teams were able to use various stunts to pressure Allen. Look at the Cinci game for a clear example. Or is the oline just that bad?
-
I'm sure at this point in his career he wants to go to a team he thinks has a shot at winning it all. He played against Miami 3xs this year. Read between the lines. A Poyer on a Miami team certainly bolsters their chances to dethrone the Bills.

Spencer Brown registered a 6.5% Pressure Allowed Percentage per PFF (Among ALL OL with 14 games played). That was ranked the 103rd out of 113 players- NOT GOOD I hope the Bills have a great plan to solidify a weak offensive line. I'm not sure what they see in Brown? He's more a liability than an assest thus far. How confident are we Beane can make the necessary changes and upgrades? How confident are we in Brown?

I hear you. I get your line of thinking. Much of your opinions can be justified and validated. I think my previous post addresses mostly what I wanted to say. I'd ask you to reflect and ask yourself this now that the season has ended. Are you disappointed in the season? Do you feel let down in anyway? Was the season a success in your mind? Did the team meet or exceed your expectations? Great response. Bingo!

Agree 100%. My big concern is will Dorsey be able to have the rights calls and schemes to take full advantage of this two headed monster? -
This is a fair post. Let me add my perspective to it. I don't think anyone is really saying McD or Beane are bad. Of course, they deserve credit for building a winning culture and consecutive playoffs appearences/division titles. Comparing the previous coaches and past Bills failures vs the present isn't the logic or path I want to go down. It's really fruitless and kind of gives an impression of hey be satisfied with the winning. Be happy about making the playoffs. Of course, there is a kernel of truth to that thinking. I myself was very happy with the early success and turnaround of the Bills team. Beane and McD were excellent at rebuilding and molding a winning culture. They absolutely deserve accolades for this. However, at some point the goalposts have moved. Maybe 2 or 3 years ago? Wouldn't you agree. The Bills have their franchise QB whose developed into one of the best in the league. The last few years were absolutely windows to smell and or hoist that Lombardi Trophy. The winning the division and making the playoffs just weren't enough. Frankly, shouldn't be enough. This is where division amoung the fans start to arise. Be happy with its nice regular season record, winning the division, and one playoff win or wanting to make that Super Bowl appearance and or win it all. Imho, it's clear McD and Beane have turned around the franchise primarily because of Allen. Once again, they deserve high praise for this. On the other hand, they have failed to progress the team. Many mistakes along the way has lead to many playoffs failures and early exits. Expectations weren't met. Now we go into this year with several question marks. I think it's perfectly rational to start questioning and criticising McD and Beane. Imho, it's called accountability and as a fan I want more from this team. That doesn't mean I'm a troll or any less of a loyal fan. In short, McD and Beane deserve much credit as well as much criticism. At some point, change can be a positive thing. Personally, I would have very much liked to see Fraizer gone. An upgrade to Dorsey certainly could have been on the table. Coach McD probably deserves more time but honestly I'm losing my confidence that he can get it done. Hope that gives you a little different perspective. Thanks.

I agree but he wouldn't be used in the same way in Buffalo. Allen would losen his load. The two together would compliment each other so well. It's hard to see defenses stopping the Bills. The preface is an improvement on the oline and play calling. I think the Bills are in win mode now. This is the kind of pick up that dramatically puts the Bills in position to do that. I don't mind swinging for the fences here.
