  1. Ben Johnson the OC was brilliant with his schemes and play calling. It won't be long that he will be a head coach.
  2. Can't deny the facts. Diggs has been ineffective in the big playoff games. However, I think we need to "Digg" deeper as to why. I believe it's pretty easy to take him away with double teams. That's why Davis was able to have a monster game. In short, it's not all Diggs' fault. I would absolutely be open to trading Diggs. Get Dhop, another WR, and valuable draft picks. Heck yes sign me up. My prediction is that Diggs is going to become a problem in the locker room. He's beginning to show early signs of discontent. We know his history in Minn. Connect the dots sort of speak.
  3. I stand corrected. I had in my head that he was consistently injuried. Thanks.
  4. That would be fine in my eyes. My only real concern is Dhop can't stay on the field. His sample size is very large too. Could be a Crowder like scenario. Big risk vs reward.
  5. You anointed the Carlona QB draft pick a franchise QB? Wow that's pretty bold. Agree 100%
  6. Davis was hurt earlier in the year. He was very healthy towards the end of the season and in the playoffs. Davis isn't a very good receiver. He is average to good. He had one if the best QBs in the league throwing to him. He caught 48 of the 93 passes his way. A terrible catch ratio, he lacks quick explosion and separation, and his route running is limited. All of that adds up to a middling WR who should never be a number two target on any team. He's a good 3rd and 4th option receiver. I believe many Bills fans have the image of the Gabe Davis in the Chiefs game. Obviously, he was fantastic in that game. However, that game was an anomaly not the norm. In short, the Bills must get a true #2 WR option. One who can run all routes and create separation. Zay Flowers is that guy for sure. The only big question is his size.
  7. I can't say that I'm a guru QB scout. I've watched Stroud play about 5 to 6 times. He really didn't impress me. Folks here with more knowledge could maybe give some insight on his future? Is he really top pick worthy?
  8. The Bills really need to upgrade the Oline and WR core. It will be crucial if they want to make a serious Super Bowl push. Let's not forget a healthy Bills offense scored a measley 10 points vs a mediocre Bengal defense. There are no real excuses for such a poor performance in such a big game on a national stage. It was frustrating to watch such ineptness, lack of weapons, no creativity, etc...
  9. Very good insight. I'd say it is McD being passive and quiet. He absolutely did little to take the blame. In essence, I think he used Fraizer and others as a backdoor screen. McD never apoears front and center when the heat is on. The Buffalo media treats him with kid gloves. The only one asking tough questions (Sully) is gone. I think we the fans, myself included get a little blinded by the McD nice guy nice character guy. For me it's getting old and losing its steam. Im glad McD us likely taking over the D. Now he has nowhere to hide or put up that shield. I'm interested to seevif he's up to the task. All this talk about how good of a defensive mind he is will be put to the test. Its about time because the Bills need something to get over the hump. Wasted opportunities are passing by year by year.
  10. Thank you so much for this post! Not sure why others still think Davis can be that solid #2 WR? It baffles me how people don't trust their eyes. I suspect Davis will be gone next year. Some team will foolishly pay him more than he is worth. Also, I have to laugh at how people say Davis and Allen have great chemistry. Last year, Davis had 93 targets for 48 catches. That's terrible and near the bottom for WR2s. His only saving grace was catching 7 TDs. Probably more of Allen's doing then Davis. Caught by default sort of speak. Year after year we hear how Davis works his butt off. Beane continues to sing his praise. You believe Beane or your eyes? You have a whole seasin of mediocrity to critique. I'm all for keeping Davis as a WR3 or 4. That's where he can produce effectively. You need a WR2 to be able to be 3 dimensional. Gabe can't great space quickly and his hips are too stiff. That's not going to change. He will likely never be a WR 2 for this reason. His skill set is limited.
  11. Carolina gave away a lot for a so so QB. None of this class of QBs are likely franchise. Perhaps serviceable to good is likely their landing spot. I think the Bears did well. Their fans have to be happy.
  12. I would really like the Lockett addition to the Bills offense. I think he would do well with Allen throwing him the ball. He's solid, dependable, makes big plays, and scores TDs. It would be an instant ugrade to to the Bills offense.
  13. Very well stated. As for myself, I know the Bills are a top tier team. Not sure anyone would dispute that. That makes me excited about the upcoming season. The Bills absolutely have to make solid moves via free agents, signings, and draft picks. Like you've implied the margin for error is pretty thin. There is no doubt several teams are breathing down on the Bills. KC and Cinci are likely better teams and better coached. Has the path to the Super Bowl diminished under this regime? Seems like the last few years have been lost opportunities. What will it take to get this team over the hump? The holes and weaknesses of the team seem bigger than the previous few years.
  14. Oliver is a nice piece and a good contributor. However, he is not a difference maker nor consistent enough to warrant a big contract. The Bills would be foolish to give him big money. I tend to agree with your sentiment. Let's wait and see what moves and pick ups the Bills make. Then we should have a clearer picture about the upcoming season.
  15. I never got that impression. I never got an impression that he wasn't a team guy. Oliver isn't bad. He's serviceable but inconsistent. That happens when you are undersized. That's why he fell to rhe Bills. His size metrics were a glaring red flag in hindsight.
  16. What does culture philosophy mean?
  17. I'm in!
  18. I'm not that foolish to make that bet when odds are 50 50. However, the $50 bet is my sweet spot.
  19. Great post. I enjoyed it. I'll have to check out Full Swing. I'd be a fool to take that bet for even money.
  20. I think a lot depends on the QB situation for Miami and NY. If the Jets get Rodgers that would put them on par with the Bills. A healthy Tua certainly can beat the Bills. Heck, they almost beat Buffalo in a home playoff game with a 3rd stringer. Let's not overlook the Bills offense was completely healthy. I'm not sure why so many on here think the Bills team is a lot better than either of these teams. The gap is miniscule in my eyes if either opposing team QB situation gets solved. Even if it doesn't, look at how the games were played last year. I certainly am interested at looking at getting Miami or the Jets to win the East. Depends on the odds and upcoming events. Right now, Miami and Jet fans have to feel pretty good about knocking off the Bills. I think prior to last season the belief wasn't there. The Bills were feared and in awe of. Those days are over as it's evident the Bills teams can be manhandled on the line of scrimmage.
  21. I get that tje Bills are favorites to win the division. They are defending champions and have the best QB in the division by a country mile. I'd argue that the Bills roster is not much better if that than the Dolphins and the Jets. That's very debatable. As mentioned, Allen is really the difference maker. Just go back to last season and watch the Bills vs the Jets and Miami. You can't tell me that both those teams aren't breathing down the backs of the Bills. We will see what McD can do with the defense now that he's likely taking over. I can't wait to see it. I don't disagree with that. The Bills should be the favorites. Like I said I wouldn't be surprised one bit if they finished 1st to 3rd.
  22. Thank you. With respect I am as relaxed as can be. Thanks for inquiring or at least being inquisitive. NASCAR isn't my thing but golf certainly gets my attention. Who doesn't love March madness? It will be very interesting to see the Bills upcoming decisions. In the past, I've had great confidence in Beane, the scouting department, and Coach McD. Frankly, the last few years they have underwhelmed in my eyes. The confidence factor is much less. Pretty sure I'm not the only one that feels such? This off season should very well tell us what path the Bills organization is on.
  23. Yep! Beane asleep at the wheel while the Jets just seemingly get better. The AFC east is going to be a dogfight. I can see the Bills finishing 1st or 3rd. Not much separation between the 3 teams. Is there a changing of the guard taking place?
  24. The offense was awful. Bordering on pathetic. WR Davis sucked and couldn't catch a pass or create seperation. Inconsistent to say the least. A fairly common theme throughout the season. Refer to the 93 targets and 48 catches. A whopping 56% catch rate. That's the Bills WR2. Oh boy...Yet, Beane continues to sing his praise. Are we fans that naive? Diggs was taken out of the game again. What a surprise! A common theme that defenses double him. He's the only legit weapon teams have to worry about. Lack of weapons, creativity, talent, and play calling all contributed to the puke offensive performance. The Oline failed to protect Allen. Their defense swallowed up Allen and forced lots of poor throws. Yes, the Oline sucked. Again it's been an issue for how many years? Another failure on Beane. Yet, you continue to show "blind love" that he will get the job done. Working his butt off only goes so far. How about that Saffold pick up? Great move by Beane? Spencer Brown was one of the worst graded tackles in the NFL. Yet, Beane continues to sing his praise. Dorsey got taken to the woodshed by Lou Anarumo. It was like men playing against boys. It was embarrassing. Yet, Beane continues to give Dorsey praise. So yes we agree that the offense was terrible. What do you expect when you only have one legit WR weapon, a swiss cheese oline, and an OC that's "on the job training?" Allen can't always play Superman, especially in the playoffs vs excellent teams. Don't get carried away with regular offensive stats. They mean little come playoff time. The Cinci game proved that. I might add that the offense was very healthy. All the above is why I'm pounding the table for offensive picks and pick ups. Defensively we disagree. The defense was equally bad if not worse. Not sure how you could think they weren't anything but that. Definetly a D to a D- grade. The Bengals came out and shredded the Bills defense. Quick TDs with ease. Like taking candy from a baby. Their offense did whatever they wanted to do. Pass, run, or run pass and then some. Burrows was dominating the Bills in their own house. The D had no answers. They were manhandled and mauled in every category. Sure felt the the Bills D of old. To this day, I have no idea what the D game plan was? Fraizer and McD defensive game plan was horrendous. The Bills vaunted pass rush was missing in action. Couldn't even beat a depleted second string Bengal oline. So much for all those top draft picks. But wait, this year Epenesa and Boogie will step up. I just know it! A 34 year old Von Miller coming of ACL injury is going to dominate come playoff time. I just know it! It will be Tre like. Look Thurman you can lie all you want about this defense. Don't get carried away with regular season stats. You can make excuses about injuries. You can minimize how bad they played. You can neglect to see a pattern of poop defensive play in the playoffs. I guess that's called being a "loyal fan?" Carry on...
  25. I hope he's gone. I'd rather spend the money on the offense. Orlando Brown or Mike McGlenchy make sense. This defense with Edmunds can't stop top tier QBs in the playoffs. That's just a fact beyond dispute. Sure it's not all Edmunds but he certainly didn't change the games in the Bills advantage. Where was he vs Cinci? McD is supposed to be this defensive guru. Let him coach up the players. It's officially his D now. Beane drafted Bernard for reason. It's not inconceivable he could have a breakout year. Maybe he's the next "difference maker?" In Beane we trust! Let Allen cook is my motto this season. Load up on acquiring oline help. Draft and acquire WRs and Olinemen. It's been painfully obvious that the Bills have put way too much on Allen. Year after year the pundits have pounded this drum. Yet, the Bills organizatiob has failed to solidify a solid oline. That's really been the fatal flaw of Beane and McD. Instead, they have invested and invested and invested on a pass rush that has yet to deliver. Just the facts Thurman. No way should this team go into this season depending on the defense. The numbers and stats don't tell a complete story. The real story is how the defense blows come playoff time. With a franchise QB, I don't give two craps about this overrated Bills defense. That's why you let Edmunds walk! Give Allen what he needs and he will outgun and outshine his opponents.
