  1. This is one way to look at it. You could be absolutely correct. However, it appears that KC and Cinci are better than the Bills. They too have made improvements along with the Jets and other teams. The Bills are no doubt a top tier team. Allen is simple that good. With a little help and support they make the playoffs. The real question is are they good enough to win it all? That is the goal no? Thus far, they have come up short year after year. Various reasons why which have been amply stated. A new start to the season brings new hope. As time passes does that hope become reality or another bitter disappointment?
  2. I think the idea of a team being the favorite or underdog to ein it all is vastly overrated and overhyped amoung fans. I think today's modern day athletes are able to mostly drown out the media noise. In essence, I think it has little effect on the players and teams outcome.
  3. Disagree wildly with you. No way no how should the Chiefs scored in 13 seconds. It's just that simple! The Chiefs, Mahomes, Kelce, Hill and Reid did nothing spectacular to get into field position. It was more the Bills errors than anything. Choke! The Bills defense was flawed and frankly horrific in those 13 seconds. All they had to do was drag and hold the Chiefs players for two plays. A holding penalty would not have hurt them all the while precious time would have ticked off the clock. Instead we saw what happened. No squib or short kick, played 20 yards off the line of scrimmage, and gave Kelce a free path and free catch. The Bills called timeouts to get things right while they get things wrong. Choke, choke, and more choke! Miscommunication isn't an excuse it's called choking. Your account of other fans perception is admirable but not based in fact. It's purely based on your perception and opinion. You are rightly entitled to it. Not sure how anyone even the casual football fan can't see how that 13 second debacle wasn't one of the worst coached and played 13 seconds in history. Plainly put, as a Bills fan it will hunt us for years to come. It was arguably the best chance the Bills had to win a Super Bowl. The Bills choked it away. Sorry Thurman if you can't or refuse to see it.
  4. I'm sure KC and Cinci fans are saying similar things about Buffalo. 13 seconds was the ultimate choke job in NFL history. It cuts both ways... It's reasonable. Not sure about the Chargers but it's not outrageous either.
  5. Swinging and missing is a big deal.
  6. You are correct. I stand corrected. The Chiefs were moons better than the Bills in 2020. The Bills had no real chance of beating the Chiefs in Arrowhead. The Chiefs predictably beat the Bills easily. To be honest, if memory serves me correctly, the Bills were very fortunate to beat the Colts. Rivers choked and overthrew a wide open receiver for the win. That Bills team wasn't ready to make a Super Bowl appearence. After that season, I think most Bills fans were happy with the season. Fast forward to today and ask yourself have they progressed? What did they accomplish? Have they sniffed a Super Bowl? The bar has changed and the Bills team has fallen short in the proceeding playoff appearances. There is no other way to see it. Optimism is great but it's results that count. The KC and Cinci playoff losses should not be dismissed as ho hum. They are certainly eye opening.
  7. I think McGovern is a nice pick up and and upgrade. Torrance is a rookie so he will have a learning adjustment. Hopefully, he will round into form towards the end of the year. David Edwards if healthy could be pretty good. Brown being healthy can't hurt. In short, I do feel like the oline has improved on paper. Is it enough? That I don't know. Seems like it's a work in progress. That's the big issue I have with Beane. He's had six years to solidify the line. At this point, the oline should be very good and little tweaks should be occurring.
  8. Beane did well here. The Bills D needed a guy like him.
  9. That's really not that close. They still had to beat Cinci which was no easy task. I stand by this team hasn't even sniffed a Super Bowl appearence yet.
  10. So brilliant that the oline has been average at best for his tenure as a Bills GM. I'd argue it's Beane's failure to put together an above average to great Oline that has cost us fans Super Bowl appearences. That's not brilliant in my eyes.
  11. The 49er system doesn't really require a top notch QB especially in the regular season. Their defense is elite and they have an innovative offensive minded coach. The Bills are no lock to win 11 or 12 games. Their division competition is obviously very tough. Not a lot of separation between the Jets and Miami. NE seems to be lagging behind quite a bit. Also, the Bills schedule looks pretty tough on paper. I'm staying away from betting over or under. I think Vegas has it just about right. I think the Chiefs win 12 games so long as Mahomes is healthy.
  12. I was frustrated with the Bills coaching staff in the playoffs. It was very clear they were outcoached on all levels. McD, Fraizer, and Dorsey all hurt the Bills chances last year. I'm still perplexed at the game plan vs Cinci in the home playoff game. They had a little rehearsal a few games before. Looked as though they made no adjustments. What in the world were they thinking? Fast forward to this year and I have some serious questions about Dorsey. Will McD be able to handle D duties and head coach duties?
  13. A lot of assumptions here. It's really yet to be be seen how effective the oline will be. Will Brown improve? Torrance is a rookie. Kincaid offers little in the blocking department. Make no mistake about it the Bills are no power running team nor do they want to be. They will always live and die with Allen's arm and legs. Lastly, will Dorsey commit to the run? Will Harris still healthy? Will they use Hines as RB? How will Cook progress or will he regress?
  14. Fraizer was the scapegoat for the last few years. He certainly deserves much blame but not all of it. There is plenty of blame to go around. First and foremost, Coach McD deserves much blame. No need to go in detail as it's been beaten to death. Also, don't discount that the Dorsey led Bills offense scored a measly 10 points against Cinci.
  15. I don't think they will sign an expensive veteran for a year deal. I believe they will sign a decent stop gap at a reasonable price. Beane will be price shopping. I'm on the record saying go all in on the offensive side of the ball. I know you and many others disagree with sound valid points. With that said, this team has some serious defensive holes at DT and LB.
  16. Not upset at all. It's realistic. The Bills have fallen short for several years of playoff appearances. The coveted prize hasn't been close. They haven't sniffed a Super Bowl. All they have is woulda, coulda, shoulda. They are being hunted by Miami and NY Jets. Both teams appear to be closing the gap on the Bills. Perhaps even passing them. Still I have to give the Bills the edge until they get beat. However, I would not be surprised at all if one of the two teams beat the Bills for the division. That Jets D looks dominant. In my mind, there should be no real debate that KC is ahead of the Bills. Their Oline is elite, Mahomes is a generational QB, and Reid is an offensive genius. Forget about the roster comparasions. Those 3 things put the Chiefs on another level. Cinci has to be looked at as surpassing the Bills. Just watch the playoff game. Burrow is a technician and a surgeon. All he does is win and his WR core is likely the best in the NFL. Their D coordinator is likely the best in the league. I'd add in the Jags and LA Chargers to the list of up and comers; right there to beat Buffalo. However, LA reminds me a lot of Buffalo. They are very good on paper but find ways to lose big games and playoff games. I think a lot has to do with their coaching. Just can't get over the hump. Sounds familar? Both fans bases look forward to next year with differing results. This year should really tell us if the Bills will remain a playoff team and a Super Bowl contender or pretender. These past two to three years were huge playoff disappointments. As a fan, I'm so tired of falling short in the playoffs. I can envision and see the Bills hoisting the Lombardi. Then I realize I'm just having a dream. I wake up only to nightmare like consecutive losses to KC and Cinci. That really leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. Somehow perhaps unrealistically I feel cheated. Dream on...
  17. You can never have enough oline guys.
  18. Looks like he's on steroids. Reminds me of David Boston.
  19. Steal of the draft at pick 59. Could be an all pro guard for years to come.
  20. Great value. One of the steals of the draft. Has the next Travis Kelce written all over him.
  21. Could be the sleeper of the draft. Pure athlete here.
  22. I guess. For me, I could careless about the Cowboys. I suppose if you dislike them you could get some joy out of what happened.
  23. I suppose. It didn't move the needle for me.
  24. You can't discount the first two picks and then give a grade.
  25. The latter draft rounds are where Beane can shine. Let's go!
